This was our first time camping and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We booked quite late on with only a few weeks before visiting this site and managed to get two electric hook-up pitches next to each other, which was great as we were camping with some friends. We found the site to be very clean and not too noisy! The swimming pool we found was very clean and a good size. You never had any trouble getting in as it didn't get that crowded. The shower block was very clean and we didn't have to queue for a shower (20p for 4 Min's - not bad considering) The only downside is that there is no shop near by, but as we all drove we managed to get to the shops anyway. Overall a very pleasant stay was had by us and we would recommend this site to anyone.

A nice well kept site, close to Canterbury, with good pitch sizes. We did not use the pool but it looked very inviting, and would be a major plus in respect to the recent very hot weather. My only slight criticisms are that I agree with previous reviewers on the restricted space in the Men's showers, which made things difficult. However the facilities themselves were of a high standard and were very clean. Also, a small shop selling at least bread and milk would be welcome - Had to make a 4 mile round trip early in the morning to the nearest village shop. Would stay here again.

A very nice, relatively small camping site with strict rules but good facilities. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed it very much.
Most tent pitches were nice and flat. Plenty of trees to give shelter from sun and wind.
The pool is an absolute plus, although it is not heated. The playground is somewhat 'underdeveloped', but well-kept. There is a tap for when your offspring gets covered with mud, grass, etc.
There's no charge for putting coldpacks in the freezer, but showers do cost 20p for 3 minutes.
And that's where we come to the one and only downside (apparently only for the men's showers): - Although the showers are quite modern and certainly clean, they are too small to hang your clothes in, so you have to leave them unattended in the bathroom area (or in your tent, which isn't always very practical either) - as soon as you put a coin in the machine (which is not located inside the shower booth) the water starts running - there's no tap to stop the water running, nor to adjust the heat. - there's also no timer inside so you have no idea if you still have the time to soap up or not
Apart from that it was probably the most enjoyable camping site we've seen on our trips to Great-Britain.

We have just spent a very pleasant week on this site. Despite raining throughout the week the facilities remained clean. The owners were friendly. The only slightly negative thing was the size of the showers that were literally the size of the tray with no space outside for clothes/dressing, etc.
The swimmimg pool looked good but the weather did not allow this to be checked out. The chequers Pub was close by and is the only pub within walking distance. The pub was used by very few locals so was quiet and lacked atmosphere.
The site was well used by various nationalities which made it very interesting. We would definitely visit again.

July 2005 Our new favourite site. Only an hour's drive from home but in a lovely countryside setting, we really feel like we've got away from it all. The glorious weather has helped, but even without that it would have been a great getaway.
Lovely site with different areas for tents/vans - we were in the middle section, nicely landscaped. Next time we will hopefully be in the lower section amongst the trees (we have already booked to go back!). The pool is marvellous, and really makes the site. Without it the site would be pleasant but with it, the site is fantastic.
No shop on site any more, and the pub next door keeps whatever hours the landlord feels like (it wasn't open at all this weekend just gone). Good pubs include the George further down the B2068 and the Rose and Crown in Stelling Minnis.
Only one or two slightly negative things: not enough showers, and 20p for 4 mins (women) and 3 mins for men feels a bit unnecessary when you've already paid minimum £15 pn for the site. They clearly don't want to give you anything for nothing - even 20p for hairdryer (pathetic, anyway, don't bother) and no plug points provided.
However, loos spotlessly clean and water hot. And we figure the 20p's go towards maintaining the pool...so, fair enough.
We are Kentish anyway so did not go out and about but there are a lot of places to visit near to this site - Canterbury, Ashford (with designer outlet village) very close, and also close to ports etc for access to France

July 2004 What a lovely site, admittedly we did have glorious weather which made the pool and the site even more favourable. Everything was clean and the owners helpful, I did however feel that it was a little bit more than what I like to pay; £14 for two. The Chequers Pub which is very close to the site was very good with real ale, beer garden and good food, however it will soon be under new management as the current owners had just sold it. So all in all a very nice site, I would go back.

July 2003 A nice clean site with swimming pool. Pitches are allocated though and we had to pay a deposit beforehand to reserve the spaces. Shop is not very large and not open very often so need your own supplies. Good for visiting Canterbury, Whitstable etc. Not much in the local area and no local shops or good pubs. We were camped in the nice bit with trees down at the bottom which was good, although I wouldn't have been so keen on the open field areas. The couple running it are very nice and keep an eye on any strange cars that arrive so your belongings feel very safe. Overall: doesn't quite feel like you are 'getting away from it all' but a well run site and good if you like swimming pools. Check out their website and the virtual tour.

24th July 2003 Situated just South of Canterbury makes the Site a superb base for exploration. Must admit theres not a lot else in close vicinity, certainly if you have kids. The site though is lovely and clean and boasts a pool. Although not heated it was pleasent and clean. This site is a favourite with our continental visitors which adds to the good natured ambience of the place. The site is a fair size although there isn't much free room between pitches for kids to play. There is a small playground but will only occupy a few kids at any one time. I prefer sites which allow you to choose your own pitch but on this occassion we were given a number - 13 ahhh!! Fortunatly though it didn't prove unlucky for us. Good site, slightly more expensive than most but certainly worth a visit if only to sample the lovely blue pool!
