August 2004 I was a bit disappointed with this site, it was quite expensive, but we felt the extra cost was worth it for the use of the indoor pool for the children, as the weather was a bit poor. However the pool is tiny and you must pay £1.50 per child for a timed one hour slot!! The shower block was clean but pretty ancient and people queued to use 2 particular showers which give a more powerful jet. On reflection a cheap and cheerful site would have been better!

August 2004 Of the campsites in the area, this was the only one we could find that took tents and was not full up. It has plenty of room for tents and nice soft grass, bit hard to find a sheltered spot but we managed it. Considering the large number of people there, it was fairly quiet, though we were in a field which was the farthest from the bar etc. Facilities quite old but perfectly clean. Swings and slides so my 2 year old was happy. Swimming pool seemed a bit regimented - closed at 5pm!! It was a hot day and we really fancied an evening swim, but no luck. Shop was woefully inadequate considering the number of people there and the Spar in New Romney wasn't much better. Cafe selling burgers and rubbish. I wouldn't stay there for a holiday, but as a weekend base to visit the beach it was ideal and will probably go back.

August 2004 The key question for any site has to be whether you would be happy to return there. In the case of Marlie's Farm the answer is a provisional yes, but with a very strong condition attached: they really have to sort out the toilet and shower facilities. When we were there (mid August 2004) there was a notice up saying that there had been an increase in vandalism in the toilet block. This may well be the case for hardly any of the toilets or showers had locking doors - the bolts appeared to have been wrenched off or, when there was a bolt, there was nothing for it to lock into on the door frame. Also, the flush didn't work on many of the toilets. The result of this was that the few usable cubicles soon became very dirty. What made matters worse was the lack of lighting - only a small area of the large washroom had electric light, which meant that the two "illuminated" cubicles were overused and soon became absolutely filthy. The above refers to the mens' area.
In order to put this right the management need to install a few extra lights, ensure that maintenance and cleaning are carried out promptly and, if they have a vandalism problem, increase security.
All in all it's not a bad site and makes a good base for visiting the area, so it's a shame that the facilities let it down. Let's hope they get the problems sorted out before next season. I'll be keeping an eye on the reviews!

Caravan permanently sited here Open Easter till October for camping - if Easter is late and weather is good may open a bit earlier (worth a phone call).
It's a good size site with two camping fields with hook-up's - large shower block + seperate disabled shower's - the building is old but cleaned everyday - showers nice and hot.
Laudrette - Washing up area - elsan point
There's a club house with Loppy Rabbit for the kids and they do things during the day aswell - bingo - live entertainment at week-end's .
Horse's and duck's to feed - two small ponds along drive in and outside reception - well away from camping area.
Small but nice swimming pool which has time limit's in high season - Closed on Thursday's.
Shop and cafe combined - never ate myself but lots do, which I take is a good sign - they also do take aways.
Under New Management for 2004.
Play area for kids and bike's permitted till dusk.
24/7 security - (and child minder bless him) He's always about and keeps kids in check - My Grandson calls him SIRturity.
Sainbury's is 5 min walk away.
Beach less than 10 mins either St Mary's Bay (left) or Littlestone (right) - same with golf courses and sea fishing.
Dymchurch short drive away with small amusement park for children.
Nice bunch of staff very friendly - Manager most helpful.
All in all we like it and Grandson would love to live there.
New Romney is a small town and very pleasant, it boasts The World's Smallest Railway (Steam) which runs from Hythe to Dungeness - At New Romney station there is a miniature railway (spent many a day there when little). Dungeness (seen in many a TV programme) has two Lighthouse's and pub and very good for fishing.

25th July - 29th July 03 This was our first time camping. We found Marlie Farm to be a clean camp. Very Child friendly site. Plenty for the kids to do, great play park area. Kids club was great for the kids. Site allows bikes, 10mph speed limit around site.
Free Showers, Toilets cleaniness was reasonable for amount of ppl on site at the time.
Bar prices very reasonable. Very friendly staff in the club house. seperate dog walking areas.
approx. £63 for 4 nights (one tent x2 adults x2 kids x1 car) in our opinion value for money
Drawbacks: You could only book an hour session at a time in the indoor heated swimming pool.
Site Shop and Cafe very poorly run in our opinion. Most people made use of a local Sainsburys as did we.
We will certainly consider going back to Marlie Farm at some stage in the future.
