This was our very first outing and the Wardens were very helpful. We were allowed on the site even though we got there well before 12 - but it was half empty. The bottom half of the site is all hard-standing and the top, next to the office, is grassed. The hard standing area has a better outlook. We didn't have enough rock pegs but were able to buy some from the Office.
Each half has a loo block - they are quite old but clean and functional. We had visiting vans to the site selling fish, fresh picked organic strawberries and on Saturdays and Wednesdays a fish and chip van from 5pm - and it was really good.
Looe is nice to visit - parking can be difficult though. We were told afterwards that there is a free parking area (not signposted). When you go over the bridge as if driving on to the Polperro road, turn immediately left and drive up the hill. Seems coaches also know to park there.
Site is being refurbished completely and closing November 2007 - we heard it was supposed to open June 2008.

Nice site well laid out, wardens very cheerful, dog walk good. Only problem we had was that we had to wait for the showers when the site was busy, the site closes at the end of the season for up grading hope they add more showers .Found a nice dining out place in Looe. Its called Cafe Cuisine only room for 12 diners, take your own wine, 3 course set menu (3 choices) for under £15 per person food was wonderful. Will be back

This is a large site with grass and hard standings but when we visited only the lower hard standings were being used. Although there is little in the way of shrubs or trees in this section the pitches are extremely spacious so you don't feel too close to your neighbours. The facilities were good and always clean and the dog walk ideal. The views from the site encourage you to explore the area and there are endless surprises down the narrow winding lanes . Looe itself is quaint - if you have a dog go to the far end of the beach where there is an area where dogs are allowed. Ideal base to tour this less visited part of Cornwall and within easy driving distance for the Eden Project.

Very nice site, good views of surrounding countryside, good facilities for both children & any animals you may have. Lovely showers/toilets and a well stocked shop, even a man who brings fresh strawberries from his farm! Recommended, very close to polperro and other places of interest, plenty to see and do in this region.

We had heard previous comments that the pitches were cramped but did not find this to be the case - we had plenty of room. The pool was nice and warm and the kids loved playing in it. The bottom end of the site is mainly hardstanding and the top end grass. We prefer hard standing but they were in demand and we ended up with a grass pitch but still had plenty of room. The site is sloping so you will need blocks under you corner steadies to get the reach. Showers and toilets were clean. There is a small hut with vending machines and the shop sells bread, milk and a chocolate bars. Looe itself is about a 5-10 min drive away. The site has 2 tennis courts which don't need pre-booking (just wait your turn) and crazy golf (clubs/balls) hired free from the shop).

We stayed for one week at the end of July, just at the start of the school summer holidays.
Booking information stated that there should be no arrivals before 2pm. However, having arrived at 2:10pm we found that most of the arrivals for that day had already checked-in way earlier and nabbed all the available hardstandings! If I were to book again, I would ignore the arrival instruction, as everyone else seems to do!
Although large and level, the hardstandings are quite unattractive, with little in the way of soft landscaping or planting around them for relief. They are also more exposed to any windy weather, with the grass pitches being much more sheltered.
We found ourselves a suitable corner grass pitch and settled in. Almost all of the grass pitches are sloping, for which you need levellers and/or blocks and many of them are not very deep, something you may want to bear in mind if you have a long twin-axle van and/or intend to use an awning annexe. It also means that caravans on opposite sides of the narrow roadways are looking directly into each other’s front windows, in close proximity and double rows are back to back with each other as well.
The views of Looe bay referred to in the CC site book are almost non-existent and I believe they are removing this from the site book for next year. Mostly the view is of other caravans, and if you are lucky, views across the valley towards the bay.
The site is well maintained, the pitches are mown usually within minutes of being vacated, ready for the next arrival. The toilets and showers are typical of club sites and are kept as clean as possible in spite of the high-usage. Showers provide plenty of continuously flowing water, with temperature adjustment.
Even though it was peak season, the site generally settled down quietly at night – but there’s always one isn’t there? In our case a large family group nearby caused some disturbance late into the evenings.
The outdoor swimming pool is lovely and warm, but does get very busy in the afternoons. Other facilities are mini-golf (clubs & balls on loan) and tennis (own equipment required). The shop sells a few bare essentials, otherwise there is a well-stocked Londis nearby, and a small Somerfield in Looe itself. The nearest large supermarket is some distance away (7 miles?) at Liskeard.
I think our eating-out experience is worth a mention. In the heart of Looe there is the usual collection of smoky pubs serving food , plus chip shops, pasty shops etc, but not much in the way of other family dining. We were lucky enough to get a table at a small restaurant called Grapevine, where the menu suited both our more sophisticated adult tastes and the unadventurous requirements of our eight-year-old son. The food and the service here were both excellent, with an early evening low-price menu. Advance booking is recommended as almost all the tables were reserved.

Friendly staff, the site is up to the usual caravan club standard.Site is more or less split into two, lower pitches mostly gravel hardstanding.Clean toilet block, reception stocked with basics and newspapers to order.Looe is a 30 minute walk away,45 minute return as very steep, infrequent bus service and taxi fare expensive. In Looe try "Miss Marples tea rooms" for delicious home made soup or varied snack menu or visit Looe Pasty shop on Buller street near the harbour for the best Cornish Pasties I've tasted.

August 2004 Wonderful site - great pool and facilities although a bit expensive. Site staff very helpful. Looe was beautiful and would definately visit the area again
At first I was a bit put off by all the signs but although there are rules the wardens are not on your back all the time and it was exceptionally clean

August 2002 The usual Caravan Club standards. Huge site with Swimming Pool, 2 Tennis Courts, Crazy Golf and huge childrens play area. The site offers a well stocked shop, having fresh local Cornish Pasties delivered daily. Cream Teas and all the basics are stocked. The wardens were faultless, they where run of their feet and still kept a smile, nothing was to much trouble. There are limited hard standings, we thought the grass pitches did not offer much room or privacy. having said that it was very busy. The Pool was very popular also, it would be nice to see an adults only slot early morning and after tea so one might actually swim. Looe is a wonderfull working fishing town, Dave's Diner by the Fish Market, offers the best fish & chips on the south coast(in my oppionion) Good all round site only spoilt slightly by the odd one who can't be bothered to mop out their shower after them or allow their kids to run riot. Would visit again.
