I visited the site over a bank holiday weekend. Surprisingly it was very quiet and didn't appear to be full.
All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We were met on our arrival and shown directly to the field and were allowed to choose our pitch. The views are very picturesque regardless of which you choose.
The site is a 5 minute walk from the beach and coastal footpath. Accessed via a private gated footpath entered by a key fob obtained with a £10 deposit.
The only down side is the number of shower facilities. Where we were located there would be about 10 to 15 pitches (which appeared the average per field) for this number there was only 1 shower and 2 toilets which was not sufficient.
I felt the site is a little pricey.
I would recommend the site, but plan your mornings well, other wise you will be waiting around along time.

I stayed here for 2 nights in September as part of a walk around the Wales coast. The site is very close to the Anglesey coastal path which is access through an electronic gate in the bottom corner of the site.
I rang up and booked a few days before and was happy with the service on the phone. The postcode in the sat nav took me directly to the site. The road up is a little narrow but has passing places.
At the site there are electronic access barriers and a little booth for you to announce your arrival. I was warmly welcomed and asked if I had a preferred place. There is lots of choice from high up in the site for views or lower field where it is flatter (still views).
I went into the lower field which has a well specced toilet/shower block. 1 shower in here and 2 toilets plus washing up. There are 2 other shower/toilet blocks on site. The water tap for filling up was outside this toilet block.
I parked up and got sorted and the owner came back within 30 mins to see if all was ok and then to sort out payment. Cash or cheques only. £10 deposit required for the access keyfob. This allows access on the main gates, the small gate to the beach and also to switch on the shower.
On site there is a bar/restaurant/small shop and wifi. There is a terrace for sitting out in the sunshine. There is a playpark with slides and swings etc.
The site has quite a lot of statics in the lower section but as the site slopes you don't really see them and there are quite a few seasonal tourer vans sited too.
We had a great stay on site and would go back for sure. It was £22 in low season for a MH with electric per night.
There is a another pub down the road Pilot Boat Inn with a good reputation for food too.

Having just bought ourselves a Motorhome we needed to go away to try it out and having spent some time looking for a nice site we think we found a super one! The owners could not have been more welcoming and helped us find a flat site with a lovely view of the bay looking towards the Great Orme!
The facilities were excellent, the toilet blocks and showers were great, there was a bar and restaurant which served the most freshly cooked and delicious food! It was a nice gentle walk to the beach which joined the Anglesey coastal path.
All in all a very good choice for first timers! We will be back.

We Stayed here for ten days with 2 dogs, the owners cant do enough for you. Literally. They towed & pitched our caravan as it was very wet ( rear wheel drive bmw ) and levelled it out for us. Breeze blocks etc ! They are always around if needed them but I never felt we where being watched, really laid back atmosphere, also really good point if you have visitors they don't charge for extra cars etc !
Had an absolutely fab time, despite the weather, facilities were spot on. Clean. Plenty of hot water and all in easy reach. Loved the fact that we where right by the gorgeous beach. Private path to it ! which the dogs loved as did we, come rain, wind & sun !
Plenty of walking straight from site along the coast, lots of bird watching & if your lucky as we where you might spot some dolphins or porpoises.
It does seem to get busy over the weekend but there is no noise come night time.
We did not use the restaurant as no dogs allowed, but that is being rectified for next summer hopefully.
I cannot fault the site it's perfect ! We will definitely be back. Sooner rather than later

I have stayed at this site four times in the last two years and cant say enough good things about the place. The staff are friendly and helpful and wil do what they can to make your stay more enjoyable. The pitches are large and most offer great views of the beach and coastline.
There is a water tap close to your pitch and electric points are placed close by. They have three toilet/shower blocks and all are clean and modern with facilities for washing up at the two main blocks. If you don't want to cook you can always get a great meal at the bar or just enjoy a drink with seating both inside and out.
Overall the site is very well run and maintained to a very high standard. My only advice would be to put steps or a path from the camping field to the reception as this would encourage more people to use the facilities otherwise I wouldn't change a thing. Lastly book early as this site gets full at busy times.

We had a 4 day stay here in May. We were pitched in the field with the toilet block. This was lovely and very clean. Best toilet block we have seen in our 2 years camping. As we were staying out of term time it was very quiet so we had the toilet block to ourselves to begin with. It was a great view looking out to the ocean. We sampled the food on the Friday and it was georgeous. Home made food and very fresh. The bar/restaurant was lovely. The beer was out of a pump which was great as I am a bitter drinker.
The owners and the staff are lovely and couldn't do enough for you. They even got my car started after a flat battery. The play area is okay and kept my child happy. The only downside was the wind. At times it was annoying and although it has hedges, large & small, it didn't seem to do the trick.
Overall though this was a lovely break and will definitely be going back again. I can imagine that this site would be very busy during school holidays which may not suit everybody but based on our experience I would definitely recommend it as we had a lovely relaxing break.

Having camped on many occasion in my youth, I was keen to go again as a family. My wife was a little dubious to say the least, but having spoken to many of her friends who go camping, she finally relented. So early 2012 we started to acquire some gear in preparation for a summer in the great outdoors.
Our first ever trip was in May to Tyddyn Isaf. Our friends had booked a pitch there for the weekend after the bank holiday and they invited us along. We did a little background research on the site to try and get an idea of what we'd be letting ourselves in for and found plenty of information on their own website as well as information and reviews on this website and some guide books we'd acquired.
By this point we had managed to acquire kit to ensure we had something to sleep on, in and under as well as kit to make a cup of coffee and a rudimentary meal, so we thought we should actually put it to use. We booked a pitch and started to prepare for our first family weekend under canvas (or polyester to be more precise).
We booked a pitch without EHU although they are available. The booking process is a little antiquated with it needing to be done by printing out a form and sending it off in the post with a cheque. We'd booked far enough in advance that only a £40 (short break) deposit was required at the time of booking with the balance due to be paid on arrival. There's an area on the booking form for special requests which we used to ask for a pitch next to our friends. When the reply eventually came back in the post we were informed our pitch was booked and our special request had been granted. It's a shame the whole process couldn't have been done using online forms / emails rather than elongating the process with the use of the postal system.
When we arrived at the site, we used the intercom outside the barrier to announce our arrival. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff near the reception area who asked where we wanted to pitch. As the site is quite hilly, we asked for the flattest area available. He mentioned that they weren't due to be busy that weekend and escorted to a corner pitch in the lower tent field which had plenty of space for us, our friends and our cars (I think we were actually taking up three pitches between the two families). It was a great spot – flat, some shelter from a hedge and our location provided us with stunning views over Lligwy Bay (which I suspect you'll get wherever you pitch).
Whilst we were sorting out our gear, our 7 year old son went to find the play park and soon came back raving how good it was. So good in fact that he spent most of his time in the park when we were on-site and we barely saw him.
There was a small unisex toilet block at the entrance to our field which had 2 toilets (each with a basin, mirror and hand dryer), a single shower and 2 sinks for washing up. Although we didn't really use them, we did check out the other facilities on site too. There is a small facility behind the bar and the largest block, further down the site, is separated into male and female sides, each with several showers, sinks, toilets and again a separate washing up area. They were all spotlessly clean and well lit and the large block had music playing too.
You need to pay a refundable deposit for the fob which operates the showers and there was plenty of free hot water available. The same fob also operates the site's entrance barrier and the gate which lets you down to the beach, which we used a couple of times.
We ate in the bar on the first night and there was a reasonably priced menu with plenty of selection for adults and kids. Also in the bar is a separate games room with TV, satellite system, pool table, sofas and plenty of tables & chairs if you just wanted somewhere to sit and relax.
The second night we ventured out to the Pilot Boat Inn which is few miles down the road. It was friendly and the food was plentiful and reasonably cheap. There is a 'play bus' outside (a real double decker bus) which is decked out as a soft play area for kids.
The Tyddyn Isaf staff were very friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. We ran out of fuel for our Coleman stove on our last evening and unfortunately the on-site shop didn't stock any suitable fuel (although they did have standard gas canisters I think). However, by that time we decided the only thing we needed it for was a cup of coffee in the morning, so we decided to leave it and get a coffee from the bar in the morning. When we arrived at the bar we found the coffee machine hadn't been turned on yet and although the owner said we were welcome to wait, it would take about 30 minutes to warm up. He did offer us a filter coffee which we accepted – it was nice and strong, provided us with our caffeine fix and he charged us a very reasonable amount. He even offered to throw in a piece of cheesecake too. He was very friendly and we asked him about the site while we were drinking our coffee which he was only too pleased to tell us about and answer our questions.
All in all, the site is lovely and feels safe, the staff are friendly, the facilities are very good and clean, the play park is great and the views are fantastic.
We are already trying to find time to go back again.

This site was recommended to us by a friend and we were certainly not disappointed. The views were terrific, toilet blocks clean and the staff were on hand at all times whilst pitching due to the sloping field. Lovely and quiet, excellent facilities and a lovely 5 minute walk to the lovely Lligwy beach. Although we did not need them, the site has a very nice children's play area, bar and restaurant on site plus acres of space between each pitch. The road to the site is very narrow and we met someone coming the other way on arrival but don't let this put you off. Its well worth it. We will be back.

This is only our second season in a caravan so much is still new to us. However we have been to enough campsites or caravan sites to now know what we like. We being the dogs, the kids and wife.
The dogs enjoy fields, paths and beach. Well Tyddyn Isaf has these in buckets, either on site or next to it.
The kids enjoy fields, beach and play ground. Again these are well and truly covered plus chocolate pizza. The ever helpful family that runs Tyddyn Isaf for whom nothing is too much have come up with this perfect end to a little boys Birthday meal.
The Wife. As long as she is not cooking then all is good and with Arthur at the helm of the pans in the Bar she need not worry. Excellent meals with great beer at respectable prices.
In summation, good fields protected by large hedges, two mins from the wide open beach. Spotless modern facilities, great bar with ever helpful staff and welcoming fellow campers.

Just returned from a 4 day Easter break at Tyddyn Isaf. Upon arrival we were met by Simon who was very helpful and really friendly and welcoming. We were shown to our pitch we had EHU and the pitch was flat as we had requested.
The site is as described on the website, with clean, modern toilet/ shower blocks (free), amazing views and lots of areas for the children to play. We were provided with a key fob that gave us access to the beach, entry & exit to the site and for use to activate the showers.
The on site bar was lovely and very child friendly, we didn't sample the food sadly but listening to other people's comments, the menu was delicious!
This site is an ideal location to explore Angelsey. It is a little expensive but you get what you pay for and the people working at this site will do everything to ensure you have a pleasant stay.
The only criticism I would make is that the main toilet block is located by the fields that mostly have caravans and is a bit of a walk from the tent and motorhome fields, apart from that this site is perfect even in the rain!
We will definitely be returning to Tyddyn Isaf in the summer and hopefully again later on in the year.
