Excellent site, plenty to keep the kids amused, football area and goals were well used as was the flying fox and basketball hoop. Games room was also used, and Sky TV was an excellent addition.
As the campsite was busy and we didn't book the last hook=up pitch was a bit on the rocky side as were some of the other pitches, however there was plenty of grassy pitches to be had also.
Toilets could have done to be cleaned and replenished with loo roll more often, however, was advised by some regulars to the site that normally the toilets were spotless, the owner was away when we visited.
Overall an excellent site that we will consider re visiting. The site runs alongside the river jed and the scenery is lovely, overall the site is kept in fantastic condition with plenty to do for all ages.
Well worth the money, and any staff we met were very friendly.

This was our first visit to this particular site and we were very impressed. The tent area is lovely backing onto the river. There is plenty of space to pitch your tent without being too close to other campers. Picnic tables are provided which we found really helpful. The toilets were immaculate, one of the showers was a little disappointing as it kept going cold if the other one was in use, not the end of the world but a bit unpredictable. We will definitely come to this site again, very soon. The surrounding area is lovely with lots to do for families and couples alike. The owner of the site was very accommodating.

Just came back from jedwater. It's a great little friendly site. The play areas are excellent. Zipwire, footy pitch and play room all great and the river brilliant if the sun shines (which it did).
The showers were small but clean but fine. The grass on which the tents are on was a bit bare and stony. Some new drainage the cause. But when the grass grows back it will be fine.
Harestanes country park a good free day out with a good play area and walks.
They even had sky sports in the play room so I could watch the toon go down. Never mind they'll be back and so will we to this little gem of a site.

Lovely site with lots for children (my 10 year old son describes it as the best site he has ever been on).
Facilities were good - plenty of hot water and clean. Shower curtains were changed during our week long stay.
Only down side were the insects (midges)as I got got quite a few bites - take lots of repellent!
A must visit site if you have children.

I think this site was one of the best we have ever stayed at. There is a huge area for the children to play with slides, sandpit, swings as well as a flying fox. Our 3 children loved this.
The water is close by and the children loved paddling in it and the local walks were very good.
The owner of the site was extremely welcoming and made us all feel at home and went out of his way to make the children happy even on the wet day we had.
I would rate this site 10 out of 10 for a family to stay at.

We spent a week at this site at the end of May this year. This site is fab! Hugely under rated in our opinion. We had a fab pitch with the water right at the back of us which the kids loved. The walks around the site are great and you must try climbing the ladder thingy. Worth the out of breathness. What a fab view over the site.
The pitches are well spaced and the toilets. Well then. They are just beautiful. The cleanest loos in the world! The showers are hot and powerful and free.
The surrounding area is beautiful, and the fishing etc. Is abundant. If your looking for a Butlins type holiday this aint for you but for peace and tranquility. Bring it on! Oooh yeah, and the Deer Park just down the road is well worth a visit. They have picnic tables and loads to do and see. I actually got to stroke a deer. Amazing! Eeerrrr. The kids and other half loved it too.
The site owner is really chilled out and there to help if needed, a really nice family.
The kids playpark is great, our lot thought it was just brilliant and I'd hugely recommend that anybody ( kids or parents lol!) have a shot on the flying fox rope wire. I had great fun whilst my kids played more serenely at the wee park!
All in all. We loved this site and will deffinitely return. We didn't want to leave.

We've just spent the May bank holiday at Jedwater. This is a tremendous site. It is located only a short drive from Jedburgh itself and although pleasant enough, other than the Abbey, Castle / jail there is very little to do there. Having said that there is an abundance of walks and cycle rides.
The site itself was clean and quiet with the kids play park at one end. We went with sister-in-law, her husband and their two kids. The four kids loved playing in the river and on the Zip slide.
We were pitched on the main site field, surrounded by static caravans, and were the only 2 tents on the site.
All in all, a great site, well worth a visit.

Just back from 3 days at this site (4 adults & 7 kids) Site was basic but good. Staff friendly, toilets clean and warm. kids had a great time on the zip line at park and plodding about the river. Wellies recommended. Shops and takeaways about 10 mins drive. all in all a good site and will use again.

We have just had our first visit to this site and will definitely be returning very soon. The touring pitches are set over different areas and not all clumped together. The toilet block has been recently refurbished to a high standard and is kept very clean, but sometimes due to kids playing in the river and then going into the toilets the floors can get a bit messy but not for long as the owner is always out and about and also has a notice displayed in the toilet saying that if the toilets become dirty then you can either ring her or knock at her door to let her know and she will sort them out. The play area is set away from the touring pitches so supervision is required. Their is plenty for all ages to do even on a rainy day as their is a games room with a t v and other games their is a zip wire for the older kids and a smaller park for the younger ones with a sand pit, swings and slides. Jedburgh is only a short 5 min drive away with a co op store for all your main shopping and lottery and a fish & chip shop is also their. The wardens greet you with a warm welcome and don't have a strict midday departure time but in busy periods you may have to vacate the pitch by a certain time as to allow other enjoy the site.all in all this site is worth a visit.

We spent the second May holiday weekend at Jedwater, just to the south of Jedburgh. Even though this was a holiday weekend, the site was not packed, and there was plenty of room for everyone. The site is well off the main road, bounded on two sides by the Jed Water itself, and caters mainly for statics. There are two areas for tents and tourers. One area is surrounded by statics and the other area, with electric hookups, is more or less self contained, running along the riverbank. The site is immaculately kept and the toilet block is spotless, modern and very efficient. The shop is fine, if basic, but is open only for a couple of hours per day. Not a great problem as there is a good sized, if well hidden, Co-op in nearby Jedburgh. We were camped right next to the river bank - very popular for children exploring, paddling and generally getting wet and muddy. There is also a great playground, with plenty of room for ball games, as well as a rope slide and stuff for little ones too. However, the small games room could do with a bit of an overhaul. The site is very quiet, but child and dog friendly, and the owner can be seen regularly wandering around, making sure that everyone is happy. The surrounding area is very picturesque, with plenty of history to see. This is Scotland's abbey and Walter Scott country, and there are many reminders of the area's turbulent past. Floors Castle outside Kelso is quite an impressive stately pile. The small towns of Jedburgh, Kelso, Selkirk, Melrose are all worth a visit. Edinburgh is about an hour's drive. My only suggestions for improvement would be to extend the shop opening hours, and to place a better signpost on the main road. If you do not know exactly where the site entrance is, it is easy to miss the rather faded sign and the yellow AA marker. We will definitely return, as we have placed this site amongst our personal Top Ten.
