TomTom didn't take us to site entrance, suggest you get directions as we did. Location is on the shore line with great sea views. It's run by local council & warden isn't on site much of the time, however if he knows you're coming he allocates pitch & leaves key for toilets.
Security is poor with local youths walking through site. Youngs fish factory is next door & can smell. Having said that we really enjoyed our stay & would go there again.
Tesco's & Aldi are close by.

Have been staying on this site every summer since I was born in 1970! Not up to the standards of the CC sites we normally use but we return again and again - the reason - well we have made a lot of friends in the town.
The site itself is basic and relatively expensive. Only encountered mud on the site twice - summer 2007 and prior to that about 1985. It needs a lot of rain to get the sandy soil in this site mucky.
The view of the beach and the sea is spectacular. The view of the adjacent fish factories is not so good, but at least they don't smoke fish anymore as they did every afternoon in the 80's.
Locally there is plenty to see. The lighthouse museum and the heritage centre to name but two.
The local heritage and dialect is unmissable.
Most recent site manager is good and facilities are much cleaner than they were a few years ago.

August 2004 Small site overlooking the fine beach & sweeping bay to the east of the fish factories. Met some people who come every year & swear by it.
Seemed basic though with an old, but clean shower block.
Lovely view from a pitch near to the sea & right near the heart of the town too.
Grass surfaces mean mud if it rains & the famous east coast fog can come in & stay put - which it did when we visited.
Helpful site manager. Not a large site though so do not expect either noise, crowds or loads of facilities.
V. Near to the esplanade which is nice to walk in the evenings. Beach is to die for though - if the weather is good. Just don't look west onto the Youngs fish factory! (Actually it did not intrude that much)
