Booked in advance of visit for three nights. Warm welcome on arrival. Directed to a large fully
Serviced pitch. Site very secure, gated access by security fob. Site well maintained and spacious.
Excellent facilities, pot wash, laundry and showers. Allowed to stay extra night even though busy weekend. Would recommend and will certainly return. Thank you to owners and staff.

This site is amazing. We spend all of our spare time here. It is very relaxing and the staff/owners are very accommodating. The amenities are spotless. It is also a brilliant base for the Yorkshire moors and surrounding area has lovely walks and scenery. You wont be disappointment with this very friendly site.

We visited this site for the first time last weekend for a long weekend - and can honestly say that after about 15 years of camping and caravanning, it is the best site we have ever stayed at! Just a few miles east of Knayton, access is easy (despite quite a narrow approach road - but with passing places). Check in was quick and easy, the staff very friendly and helpful. We were told how to get to our pitch, which was close to the lakeside area. The pitch was huge, plenty of space for a big caravan, awning and towcar. The views in all directions from our pitch were great, of the hills forming the western edge of the North York Moors.
The facility block was spotless and well maintained. Behind the reception office is a great coffee lounge and 'chilling out' area which was open all the time. Behind this area was an individual bathroom with toilet, sink and bath - again all spotless and with underfloor heating!
The site is very dog friendly, with plenty of walks through adjoining farmland. Beyond the site, you can explore the North York Moors to the east, or Yorkshire Dales to the west - so much to offer in this area!
All in all, a fantastic site, offering great facilities and in an area of North Yorkshire with so much to offer! We will be back!

We'd been recommended this site and since it was only just over an hours' drive from home decided to book it for our 1st outing this year. Site was very easy to find, a short drive off the A19.
We had a super pitch which was huge.
Toilet block was spotlessly clean, 4 showers in the ladies and 2 showers on the men's. Showers were push button, nice and hot but not particularly powerful but adequate.
There was a small play park and a field for ball games, our 8 year old made friends and spent most of the time playing footy. Some good dog walks too around the site.
Thirsk is a short drive away, plenty of shops, takeaways, pubs etc.
We paid £5 for a late checkout (5pm) and enjoyed a relaxing day on the sun. We will definitely return very soon.

Excellent pitches ( all with electric, water, waste outlet ) and spacious. Wonderful setting with views of the adjacent North York Moors. Great for dogs as there are a series of walks around the fields adjacent to the site. The only reservation is the size of the toilet block. Only one block for about 50 pitches with only 2 showers in each male and female sections. It was not a problem while we were there because there was hardly anybody on site but I wonder how adequate those facilities will be at peak periods

Just returned from a short stay at Hillside, this place is a little treasure. The family are so friendly, helpful and will do all they can for you. The super pitches are great with electric, drinking water, waste and tv hook up. Our views were stunning as was the wildlife, nature at her best. Everything about this place is fabulous, a very relaxing break away, we will return for another break.
Thank you

The moment we checked in we knew we were going to love this site. It was our first outing in our new caravan and everything was explained to us about the campsite and they even came down to our very generous pitch with views to die for to show us the utility's etc. The showers are locked so you feel more secure, spotlessly clean and heated which was lovely in November! There is also a laundry and ironing board and iron, a food preparation and washing up sink. The site has a playground with a basketball area and plenty of room for football etc and dogs are welcome. They have a small shop and a cafe in reception. There are pubs nearby which were highly recommended the nearby dog and gun was fully booked so I would reserve next time! We had two nights lovely sleep and felt very safe going to the shower block as the camp has excellent security with cameras, barriers and very good lighting. On check out we discussed leaving our caravan there, we were very happy with the arrangements and can't wait to return. Thank you to all the staff for making us feel welcome.

Lovely clean and peaceful Caravan site with superb spacious super pitches, definitely a place to relax and get away from it all. Lovely heated WIFI room with sofas and tea and coffee machine. Our teenagers thought this was a great extra for them as somewhere they could go together but would of loved a pool table in there. Lovely playground for younger children. Toilet block was heated but showers not very powerful and hairdryer was very low on power. Seemed to take forever to dry a small section of my hair, I gave up ! Lovely pub down the road which we walked too food was great. Sunday lunch well recommended but need to book in advance. A few miles away was Cod Beck Reservoir And Osmotherley, can recommend for lovely walk, The village very quaint with tea shops.
