Just returned from a 5 night stay here. Will definitely return.

Took our ageing caravan and 3 and 6 year old sons. We wanted a site where we could give the kids free rein. The site is very spacious with a handful of hookups, so there are no vehicles going up and down. The river is nearby but not so close you have to worry with small children.

The shop and garage are a 10 minute walk and Tesco's is 3 miles away, so very convenient. There are plenty of local walks to choose from. We had a nice afternoon exploring the lake with children's play park and ducks to feed in Llandod, a day at the Elan Valley visitors centre, and a 1 hour drive to Ludlow and castle, and left feeling there were a few more things we could do next time we come, so it's a good base.

Also, had a very acceptable bar meal at the Gwystre Inn, the next village along.

Could not fault the cleanliness and helpfulness at the site, and thought it very good value.

The church house farm is a good size friendly welcoming family run campsite located in a lovely part of mid Wales for tents, caravans, campers.

There very helpful if you need information or directions.

There is a lovely new shower and toilet block in the campsite which is kept clean and tidy, the regular checks mean you are never short of anything,

Also there's separate room to wash up dishes with too sinks and ironing board and iron etc.

This is a recommended campsite.

A handy location, between Rhayader and Llandridod Wells, and beautiful clean facilities.

The shower room is brand new, and my son (who is picky about such things) was so delighted with it that it was tricky to get him out!

A very friendly family, with helpful advice about the local area.

They were kind enough to help us organise some pony trekking locally, great fun.

We also went to see the red kites at Gigrin's farm which is a short drive away.

We had a really good time here, and would not hesitate to return.

We have been coming to Church House Farm for 7 years and have always been met with a warm welcome. The Griffiths family will always do their best to accommodate you. It is a working farm but still quiet with lovely views. There are some nice walks and fishing can also be done from the site. It is a spacious site and child friendly so children do feel very welcome too. The new toilet and shower facilities

Are very smart and kept clean, the regular checks mean you are never short of anything. There is also a good sized utility room, which includes an ironing board and iron. The town is quiet but comes to life during the Victorian Festival which is held in August when lots can be seen on the streets from Queen Victoria to friendly street entertainers juggling and doing circus skills. You can never rely on the weather but you can rely on the Griffiths Family to take good care of you whilst at Church House Farm.

What a lovely site this is, the owners are helpful and very friendly. The facilities are in the process of being built, at the moment only one bathroom is up and running. This didn't bother us unduly as we have our own facilities. Almost finished are two additional toilets and a lovely utility room. There are three hardstandings, although it looks as though two of them are in use as seasonal pitches. We pitched on the grass which is lovely and level. There is a huge field for tents, but we were told that part of it will be fenced eventually. The pitches are well away from the road to minimise any road noise, there is a railway line nearby but the noise from trains was non-invasive, irregular and minimal.

There is a post office and general store within about 10-15 minutes walking distance and slightly further a garage with cash machine, cafe, shop and launderette. There are pubs within a short drive in all directions although we can't comment as we didn't go to them.

The Site is well placed to explore Rhayadar (8 miles) and the beautiful Elan Valley, not forgetting the Kite feeding Farm. Lots of pubs in Rhayader, the Elan Hotel has a lovely carvery on Sundays, and Ye Olde Corner Shoppe does superb sandwiches to order - all very well priced.

Llandrindod Wells is about 4 miles away with the usual shops including an Aldi and Tesco. All in all an excellent site in a brilliant location and not over-priced as we thought some of the other sites were nearer Rhayadar. We will certainly be visiting there again as we found it difficult to tear ourselves away from the Elan Valley, and there are lots of other places in the area we want to see.
