Last minute as got double booked somewhere close by. Sylvia lovely and courteous and relaxed. Site not very busy which was perfect for us. Didn't use facilities which were tokens and a recent addition. Will go back for sure. Very peaceful woke up rather late which is a first. People seemed to pitch how they liked which we are not used to seeing and we were free to go where we wanted. Fabulous! Water via a hose attached to electric post. No facilities for children but a great field. Dog walking close by without getting the car out. Thanks for a great stay. £14 a night no extra for dogs.

We have just stayed here for the weekend, we wanted somewhere close to home 30 mins away.
When we arrived at site I pitched up out of the way as not to block the entrance, and the owner was walking passed, he asked if we had booked in yet 'not yet I replied' well stay there if you want. So we did, this site suited us perfectly. There is ehu water and showers/toilet block an enormous field which was great because there was a rally on, to be honest we didn't even notice.
If this site had a swings and a slide etc for the kids then it would rank very high up on OUR list of great sites. ( it still high though)
In summary NOT an all singing all dancing commercial site, but a really nice pleasant well sized site with all the amenities you'll need very welcoming pleasant staff well priced as well.
Keep up the great work. See you soon.

L don't really want to tell people how good this place is as it's a little gem. Lovely surroundings, clean site, showers and toilets nice and clean, showers are on tokens but ample time to shower, can be slightly hot so be careful with young children.
The owners are lovely nothing too much trouble, site is credit to them, very helpful and they have an ice cream / tuck shop which was a godsend with the mini heatwave we had.
Plenty of space for the kids to play they even allowed them to play in another field which was great.
Will definitely be returning loved it
Thanks

A great site. Mainly flat. Beautiful position. Well looked after. Clean and well cared for toilets and showers. Dog friendly. On great walking and cycling routes, including the trans Penine trail. Very reasonably priced (£10 for campervan and 2 persons), plus 50p for showers. Plenty of hot water for dishwashing. We will definitely return to this site. A pity that a large group on the other side of the site were noisy late in to the night; so thoughtless.

We have just got back from a fabulous Bank Holiday weekend at this beautiful little site. We were given a warm welcome by the owner and shown to our pitch which was in the small walled paddock at the back of the barn. We were there with friends in a tent and we were allowed to pitch next to one another. We were the only units in the paddock so felt like we had our own private garden and the kids had plenty of safe space to play in. The site was lovely and peaceful at nighttime and the showers and toilets were always spotless. The price was very reasonable too, £12 for our caravan and awning with electrical hook up. The elsan point was the cleanest I have ever come across. The site was busy as was expected during a bank holiday, however it never felt cramped and the facilities coped well. All in all an excellent site and one we will definitely return to.

Been here a few times this year regardless of the weather have always enjoyed it. It is in a lovely spot for walking and cycling, as its close to The Trans-pennine trail. Facilities are always very clean, lots of hot water. The owners are always friendly and helpful. Even when its busy there is still plenty of room you do not feel on top of each other. A bonus is it is also near to my favourite pub The Fountain!

Really liked this site. Owner very friendly and helpful. Were shown to pitch behind barn in walled field, this area was good for us as we made a safe garden enclosure for our two big dogs.
Toilets and showers clean with constant supply of loo roll.
We really liked the location as you can walk direct from the camp to ingbirchworth resser or scout dike, penistone etc. No need for the car if you like to ramble.
Whilst this is a working farm its also a very well laid out camp site with nice space between units.
We would recommend this sight for everyone. We will return.
Enjoyed a curry from taste of india and had a good p8nt at the fountain pub, which is dog friendly and an easy walk.

We have returned from a weekend away here. The electric pitches are well spaced out by Saturday afternoon the site was quite busy but you didn't feel like sardines in a can.
The owners were friendly and helpful and at £13 a night a bargain. The showers were simple but well thought of with a shelf for your shampoo a bathmat and chair, my only tiny gripe is the showers were too hot (@ 5pm) the shower temperature isnt adjustable, the site also sells free range eggs.
All in all a good relaxing weekend we will be back.

We stayed at this site for a weekend. The pitch was lovely, big and flat. The showers were hot and clean.
It's an ideal place to stay and go walking. There is a path ( the pennine way) leading from the camp site to one of the reservoirs. You can then walk further on to another resevoir.
There is lots of information on other local walks. We tried the Thurgoland walk (I think that was what it was called) it was supposed to be 9 miles, but we got a bit lost and did 13 miles instead !. Via 4 pubs !
The only negative I could say about the site is the approach as there is only a small sign that can be easily missed, then you have to go down a narrow road to turn around which can be difficult towing a caravan
We will definitely return.
