I really enjoyed this campsite the facilities were always in good condition and there was plenty to do within and around the site. All the staff were very friendly and looked after there customers well. I really enjoyed my visit whilst there and had plenty to do for the whole two weeks of my visit.
I would recommend this site to anyone, and would definatley go back again.

Just spent 5 days here (before Easter). The site wardens are really friendly & helpful. The toilets were spotless. The Bistro/Takeaway food is reasonably priced and a good variety for adults & children. Our 6 year old enjoyed the childrens clubs although he didn't go to everyone as they are run 4 times a day. Theres also a great pub (Fortescue Arms) just down the road where there is a menu that would have something to suit everyone theres so much choice. Theres lots in the area to do but would recommend Watersmeet Castle as a good day out (take a picnic) cost £28 for 2 adults & 1 child but they do a family ticket for £34 (2adults & 2 children). If you think you would like to go back again you can pay an extra £2 for a photo & then you can go as many times as you want during the year for just £1 per person per visit.

Not our first choice but apart from the price a good campsite. Perched up high and slightly inland there are great views of the sea (almost180 degrees!) and clear views out to Lundy island. We were placed in the overflow field as we hadn't booked, the pitches here were not marked out so we had loads of room. The clubhouse was okay, great for families, but brash entertainment geared up for the kids. Toilets / showers are good enough. Short walk into Morthoe V. Pituresque, 3 pubs, chippy and church. If you carry on walking through Morthoe you soon find yourself in Woolacoombe, excellent sandy beach and a few more pubs. Great coastal paths if you are into walking. Visited Croyde bay for first time (10 min drive) and will def. go back there to camp... Tarka trail to Ilfracoombe was great for biking although the return journey sorts the wheat from the chaff so to speak. All in all good stuff 7 out of 10.

We had a great time at the Twitchen site - our third time camping. We had water and electricity to our tent. Amenities were good but not the best I've seen. Indoor and outdoor pools were very good, and we needed them in the weather we were blessed with. Other facilities looked OK, but we didn't really use them that much, preferring to hit the beach in the days. The pitch was generously sized, with room to spare for a large family tent. Diablo 900 would fit, but we were in a much smaller tent.

We've justed returned from a week's camping at Twitchen.
The site had everything you wanted. Nice outdoor and indoor swimming pools, relatively clean showers, cafe, take-away, bar, entertainment centre for kids and adults.
Unfortuanelty, because it's popular it was packed. For campers, they don't seem to stop at a certain volume on tents. There was basically 2 feet between our tent and three others... Also the camping field is sloping, we would find the kids at the bottom of the tent every morning.
The entertainment centre had decent enough acts on, but you have to get there early to get a seat. Anytime after 7.30 you've had it.
Overall, too many people and quite expensive (£30 per night) for a non electric hookup pitch..
But I suppose in a caravan, you would enjoy this site..
