A very nice site run by friendly staff. We were treated to a brass band, which was lovely. The facilities in the main block gave you your own private space, which included a toilet, shower + sink! If that wasn't enough, there was a family room + private bathroom, also with sink + toilet. The traffic was quite noisy at times but didn't bother us too much. We also felt that this site would have benefited from having an on site shop. Be aware! If you're not a caravan club member, it will cost you an extra £1.00 per night.

This is the most wonderful campsite we have stayed at during our 13 year camping holidays. You drive into the park just off the Carnon Downs roundabout (so access is fantastic) to a very spacious reception waiting area for your car/caravan. Landscaping is beautiful and very well kept. We had booked a pitched months before but upon arrival (after sorting out payment etc) the site owner gave us another choice of pitch if we wanted which we thought was very kind (we kept our original booked pitch).
The toilet blocks were in pristine order and always had a plentiful supply of toilet roll!. The newer toilet block with individual room containing a shower, toilet and wash basin are fantastic and very clean (they even supply a floor squeegy the get rid of excess water off the floor!). There was no shop there but is a small supermarket a quarter of a mile away in Carnon Downs if you forget anything. A mobile chip van came to the site on a Tuesday and Thursday which we used.
The whole feel of this site was sheer bliss and really should warrant a premier park status in the AA camping guide book. We will be going back there again in 2008 and cannot recommend this site enough. Well done to the everyone there who made our holiday shine.

This campsite was very professional and not as expensive as I was expecting! It was £13 for the one night with a two-man tent and a car. Considering the pristine condition and the excellent facilities I was quite surprised! Although it doesn't feel as secluded as some campsites (being off a moderately large roundabout and road), this wasn't a problem. The campsite was great, all very neat with lots of different areas for camping and caravanning. The facilities were great. I was so happy to see those amazing wash rooms in the main shower block. Lots of room to get dressed and to put your clothes without them getting wet! They also had a sink in there so you don't have to clean your teeth in front of other people, which I don't really like at all! A very professional campsite which seemed to have lots of information in the reception area.

The best site we have stayed on. Attractive and clean. Pitches are flat, very spacious and grassy. Shower and toilet facilities are fantastic. Lots of space and great football area for kids. Good location - Truro and Falmouth close by, we also went down to Lizard Point, St Mawes, Mevagissy and spent a day cycling on the nearby old tramway. Lots of information supplied on local attractions and details of walks to do from the site. The site doesn't have a shop but supermarkets are close by. Would definitely go back to this site.

We agree with the other reviewers - this is one of the best sites we have visited: the washrooms are terrific- you get a large heated cubicle with shower, basin, loo with space to take the kids if you have to scrub them clean too. What other reviewers don't say: The hard-standings have granite chippings so if you wander around in your slippers outside (yes, in January) you don't walk in masses of mud, grass, dirt back into your unit. There are two convenience stores in easy walking distance The Truro-Falmouth bus goes past the site Lots of good walking right out from the site (leaflets available from the site office)

I can wholeheartedly recommend this camp site to anyone considering a stay in the Cornwall area. As stated in other reviews the site is two minutes away from the main road, but is well sheltered from traffic noise due to high trees. Be aware that the A38 is currently under road works which are due to be complete summer 2007. A drive from Merseyside took us 12 hours, 6 hours driving after leaving the M5 due to road work delays. Site is very clean and spacious, with top notch facilities. Electric hook-ups are available virtually everywhere, and the site even loans chairs and table units. If you arrive late please be aware there are no late opening chippies in Truro! There is a Brewers Fayre just off the main road which serves food fairly late. There are numerous shower and bath facilities, including a central block of combined bath, shower and toilet units. An exercise area for dogs is discreetly positioned, and there is also a large football field and children's play area. The only quibble in the end was the tumble drier, which was ineffective and damaged a towel, but that is a very minor complaint. Staff were very friendly and took time out to give us directions to a surprise birthday treat which made the week's stay so memorable. 5 stars out of 5 for me.

This is our 3rd summer camping, and without doubt this is the finest camp site we have visited so far. The facilities are 5 stars through out, the minor exception being a tumble dryer that doesn't do the job adequately. Staff are very helpful, they gave us directions for an essential birthday occasion which was not printed on our motoring atlas, and are very visibly tending the grounds most hours of the day. Plenty of well equipped showers and bathing facilities, and a useful recycling point. Washing up area is also spacious and easy to find. Most of the tenting areas have electric points, and bench/tables can be put by your tent, subject to availability. Good location for the many Cornwall attractions. Highly recommended.

Just had to write - not bothered before but had to because we were so impressed with this site. We stayed on pitch 39 (with electric hook-up) and found the whole site to be absolutely delightful. It was pristine in every way. Shower block idea with family showering was brill! and also good for romance etc for 10 minutes away from family. Perfect site for touring the area. We toured from Newquay on north coast and basically did all of Cornwall from this site. Wonderful - can't praise it enough. Truro town centre with excellent parking only 5 mins away which was good for banks etc.

We have just come back from Carnon Downs it is the most wonderful site we have ever been to ( and there have been a lot ) it has the best and largest pitches you have ever seen, the toilet block is spotless, with large wet rooms my husband is confined to a wheelchair and although they have excellent disabled facilities the wet rooms are so big he didn't need them, there are also lots of lovely walks from the site, and opposite the entrance is a Pub that serves food. If you are able to go before the peak season they do a very cheap deal. This is the only site we will be using in Cornwall.
