Just spent a few days at this site and chose this because of all the great reviews. On arrival, the staff were friendly although there was a mistake with dates. We were not shown to our site, given a map with directions, although it was not that far. We were given a pitch on the left of the site near to the shower block. Ground was hard with not a lot of room between pitches. Showers were small and not very clean, no room to change with a dry area. There is no area for washing and changing the family. The pool was small and cloudy although my children weren't bothered. The bar was fine, shop ok, playgrounds good. The surrounding area was good for visiting near beaches etc. The cafe was good, prices ok but didn't get a lot. Washing up area was small (maybe made for children) with not a lot of room to manoeuvre or place your items. If I did go again would choose top field to the right as more room and showers/toilets much cleaner.

This was our second visit to this site, very warm welcome from staff really got our stay off to a good start. Pitches are adequate with plenty of space between units. There are several clean shower blocks on site yet every body seems to use only one causing hot water to run out, others were OK and there is even a pay as you go option, 20p guarantees a hot shower.
Small pool on site got a little busy at times, small shop that to be fair stocks every thing you don't want and not a lot you will need. A decent supermarket is only 5 minute drive away so no problems there.
There is a small take away on site which serves very good food at reasonable prices.
Kids are well catered for here as there are 2 park type play areas, a football pitch and if they are really bored there are the slot machines, our three teenagers never complained.
I would recommend this site without hesitation and will be returning soon

Just returned from a long weekend at this site.I used to live in this area of Kent and knew of the site but always thought of it as a basic camp/caravan site up the road which never looked much when I looked in over the bank whilst horse riding past. I was taken aback when read about it and the facilities that it had there when we booked, certainly far more than I ever remembered and we were not disappointed.
The owners of this site have certainly invested time and money on it over the last 10 years. On arrival everything was spotless, a nice welcoming entrance and well cared for grounds. On registering at the office we were given a professionally designed map of the site and all the facilities and locations, information sheets and the rules of the park. Reception well equipped with lots of local information and places to visit.
We booked for 2 nights but my son was having such a great time we extended for a night to 3 and went to work from there on Monday morning. Lovely clean shower block and loos, even though site was very busy no waiting for showers or loo, nice take away bar, clubhouse was spacious and drinks not over priced and nice pool area enough for the kids to enjoy. There was a playing field for ball games at the far end of the site and kids play area which was fenced and well maintained with good selection of climbing frames etc. Kids could let off steam here and ride their bikes without any problems. There was a second playarea on site and tennis courts and 2 more shower blocks and launderette but we didnt venture to these as stuck to the camping side of the site. All owned static caravans were laid out nicely and well looked after. My son made lots of new friend and was sad to have to go, very friendly site and excellent value for money compared to basic sites where you pay a similar price for far less facilities. Take away was a little expensive for the amount you got, but tasted fab anyway.
Our only downside was the 2 families, obviously new to camping next to us who carried on partying between them until the early hours of the morning and managed to wake most people including their own children up in the process on 1st night. I was glad of the heavy rain on 2nd and 3rd night to shut them up and keep them in their tent for an early night.
Facilities wise the ladies toilets loo rolls ran out on Saturday and were empty most of the day and not renewed till Sunday. This was the only fault with the whole place and am sure thats not a common occurrance as everything else is run so well and professionally.
The site is located near Quex Park where there is the Powell Cotton Museum but is a countryside location. Local shops etc are all a car ride away. Birchington is the closest shopping area and train station with a good selection of take away food, a couple of fish and chip shops, Chinese and Indian take aways, as well as general shops and a Somerfield super market, Off licence etc and as well there are a couple of nice pubs in Birchington, Garlinge and Manston if you want a trip out for a drink. Main larger towns and shops and beaches are in Margate or Ramsgate, and all along the coast you have the lesser known beaches such as Minnis Bay.
We will be returning to 2 Chimneys in September for a long weekend with friends this time and its certainly on our list of sites to re visit on a regular basis over the coming camping weekends.

This was our very first family camping trip 6 adults 3 children (yes big tent) for two nights over a weekend. On arrival first impressions were very good. When we were shown our pitch (couldn't choose) it was the furthest from the showers/toilet block, under an electric pylon (bit disappointing as we booked two weeks early). But it turned out ok as we had ample space and was in a big field so my 3 year old's had all the room to run around in and not annoy anyone.
Pitch our tent in the wind and rain then went to the pool. It was not that big and was not heated but the kids still loved it. If the weather had been hot I don't think there would have been much room as the site was busy. Shop was small but had all basic stuff you needed. The arcade was more suited for adults as most were slots at 10p a go.
Shower and toilets were very clean, but the hot water run out after time so some were moaning. (first come first served).
Bar was fairly priced not to big, but had seats for us each night we went. Entertainment was not great but the kids loved the disco on the sat night.
The kids park on the camping site was more suited for older ones, and with the few things in there got quite busy at times. Didn't get to the other park so cant comment.
The cafe was more like a burger van with seats out side and done a varied menu. Bit pricey for the portion you got but ok.
The site was short drive to all the local beaches and facilities which gave you choices of were to go.
As this was our first time camping and didn't know what to expect, we thought this site was very good and catered for all our needs as campers. We all had a great time (even when it was very windy and rained the odd time). We would go back and recommend it for families.

Ok this was my first tenting trip so I will always remember this one. We booked two tents on the site for 2 adults and 5 kids between us. I have a 20ft tent which fitted well on my pitch :0). We booked right at the end of may for the weekend.
My first impressions of the site was that it was extremely clean and was very quiet while we arrived at 11am to pitch up. Although you are not supposed to pitch until 12am there was no-one on my pitch so they let me start straight away (good job as I was a newbie). The site was not crowded whilst we were there, my youngest kids spotted the childrens playground which I could see from my tent straight away and happily played in there. My older ones found friends immediately and made their way to the football field (away from the tent area). There were two childrens playground on the site (the one by my tent and another by the static caravans). You are given a map on arrival which clearly points you in the right direction for everything.
The toilets and showers at two chimneys are immaculate, I never saw them dirty once. The swimming pool was lovely and not crowded whilst we were there at all. The owners often came in and checked there was no under 16's in there alone (there is no lifeguard )Swimming pool was heated and lovely to relax in, it also had a little baby pool separate.
We found a lovely little sandy beach called Minnis bay which was only about a 8 minute drive away with free parking. We also drove to Whistable and Herne bay both were not too far (approx 17 minute drive)
I did not try out any local restaurants in the area or the clubhouse that was onsite as we decided to cook ourselves with the barbecue and gas cooker all weekend. So sorry cannot give you a review on any of them.
I will return to this site we all had such a lovely time and we are now hooked on camping. The cost was £17.50 (per night) for EHU, my brother paid £15.50 for a basic pitch (this was mid season so will increase in july for high season) We felt every penny was well spent.

We've just returned from a 4 day break at Two Chimneys. Would definitely return to this site. Really nice pool which is indoor but roof opens up when it's hot - kids loved it. Good showers, toilet facilities and plenty of hot water - but site was very quiet so this might change in high season. Couple of kiddies play-areas, one of which I could see from my tent, so could keep an eye on my youngest. Camp shop which was adequate, didn't use bar area so can't comment and a small amusement arcade room - which again my kids loved. Site was clean and tidy and not at all busy - but it's still only April!

Booked in here for one night with my five year old daughter to try out camping for the first time. Was attracted by all the facilities and it is only six miles from home. Staff were really Helpful when booking in and explained where everything was, gave me a nice colour map of the Site with a clear mark where to pitch my tent. Pitches were clearly marked with more space than I expected, grass was kept impeccably as was the whole site. Plenty of toilets and shower blocks Dotted around and disabled toilets located just inside the door of gents (so if dads need to take young daughters to the loo they don't have to walk past the urinals, which is never nice). Pool was a fair size and was very well heated and was clean and tidy as was the kids pool. We found two very nice play areas, all well kept. Living locally, I know the area very well, Loads to do round here, lots of beaches, zoos etc, strongly recommend the spitfire museum at Manston. However, our stay was marred by one family with two badly behaved children, I could hear Exchanges between tents late at night with lots of bad language (lucky my little one was asleep By this time). At times this family made the pool unusable as their two children were behaving Very dangerously and caused an invasion of about 10 kids on the pool during adult and toddler Time which is between 9.00 - 10.00 a.M. These kids were intentionally jumping in the pool about 12 inches in front of two elderly ladies much to there mothers amusement. Families with Small children were unable to use the pool at this point. A member of staff did appear and cleared the pool of these kids and extended adult swim by another half hour although it did become evident that this family had received other warnings. Overall I liked this site but don't think I would go back due to the tolerance of the badly behaved. My daughters memory of her first camping trip is 'would have been better without the naughty kids and I wouldn't have to keep leaving the play areas when they came).

Have just returned from a three night stay at this lovely camp site. Very spacious pitches, with enough space around the tent that the children could play ball games without affecting others. Large play area, tennis court and swimming pool. All very nice, but as this was a bank holiday the swimming pool was very, very busy and we did not go in. The toilet block was very clean, although only 3 showers did mean that there was a wait at busy times. The water did go cold and then take time to come on again, but this was down to the amount of people using the showers. The owners are aware of this and there are signs explaining the problem. The club house is very nice and has recently been decorated, so nice and clean. There is a television and pool table, which is again great for the kids. Small shop, with essentials only, but Birchington and Margate very close for main shops. Broadstairs is a short drive, with lovely beach, as is Margate. We will be returning with our friends again next year.

Stayed here for just one night to test run our new tent and it's relatively local to us. Lovely campsite that is very well maintained and layed out with good play areas for the kids. Not the cheapest site we've ever been to but was worth the price. Nice clean swimming pool. Bar/club house is quite small but very clean and tidy. Small shop and reception areas and outdoor burger type van with outdoor seating area that serves breakfast and the like. Would go again for a one or two night stay and would be more than happy to recommend.

Stayed for 2 nights in May which is not exactly high season, our tent pitch was near the shower block and not once were we bothered by any noise. Showers were hot, sometimes very hot but then again with 2 young kids we were up early so no worries about the hot water running out. Toilets always clean. Our 2 kids and our friend's kids would've played in the play area all day (if allowed). Pool was nice enough but I can imagine it getting quite busy in high season, the pay showers by the pool were disappointing and you're better off using the shower block. We're going back again in August and this time we're also taking our teenager so night-time facilities will be critiqued without a doubt. Visited Westbrook Bay beach, no amusements in sight just lots of nice sandy beach and a cafe, parking was free.
