Visited this site in April, pulled on then left again, as this site is not suitable for disabled people, as I have only 1 leg.

The laundry room is at the bottom of a steep hill, and so are the bins.

When we arrived we were sent up the steep hill to the touring area, that has porta toilets, this site does not tell you it caters more for the static vans than tourers. Its a shame as it is in such a good scenic location, just not suitable for disabled guests.

All amenities are at the bottom of the hill by reception and quite a way from the touring area.

We have reviewed this site in the past and wanted to update ours. The owners have definitely taken time to read the reviews. There check in was just as smooth sailing as before and pleasant.

The shower blocks are still potacabins but much cleaner, they could still do with shower curtains but that is each to their own. They have moved the kids play area which was nice to see and site was clean and tidy at all times. There was a warden on site we did not have to check in with them as we arrived before 6pm and he didn't bother us at all.

The hafod hotel down the road is just as nice as before and we managed to eat in the restaurant this time (pre-booked). It was well priced at £10. 95 for 1 course, £15. 95 for 2 and £19. 95 for 3. The bar meals were just as good.

All in all a great stay if you just want a relaxed break away, will come back again.

Only negative is the placement of the bins, all the way buy the main entrance this really does need looking at, they have a warden make use of what you are paying for by getting him to decant rubbish bins in the campsite to main entrance.

Spent 10 days here. Lovely site - well planned out and loads of space for your unit. Small play areas dotted all over - washing machine and dryer and an on site shop and tea room.

Toilet and shower block looked a bit dated but were kept very clean and tidy with a baby bath unit for those that needed it.

Definitely recommend going on the tour of Devils Bridge (or Nevilles Bridge as my 4yo called it!) but its very steep and LOTS of steps so go easy.

Aberystwyth is 20 minutes drive. The local shops are VERY expensive so try and do all main shopping out.

Beautiful area - lovely views and the people on site are extremely friendly and helpful. On site first aider. Would go again.

A return visit for us this year, as last year it was our first camping trip and this year having visited other sites in Wales, we now had something to compare it to this time.

The staff are friendly and helpful as usual. There is a cafe and shop on site.

The site remained the same, ideal as a base for sightseeing the north west of Wales. Facilities remained good, clean showers and washing facilities and as usual the sheep to keep us company (but not too loud)!

The site is quieter than most and the surroundings lovely.

Pitches (mostly level, but some on a slope) were on a first come first served basis, which would have been fine if the field was clearly marked out, but it was a bit of a free for all and you had to decide for yourself where to pitch and park the car. Several spots had just been vacated, resulting in patches of dead grass and mud. We decided on a level patch not too near the trees.

Our only concern was the above average rainfall for a bank holiday resulting in a boggy field, which could have done with better drainage. The track in and out of the field resulted in a foot of mud and could have been a bit treacherous to navigate in a smaller car.

Lovely and quiet most nights after 10 to 11pm.

Having visited other sites I can say this one is exceptional value for money. No extra charges for showers and from what I remember, plenty of hot water and its kept clean too.

Would love to visit again - perhaps without the rain.

This was my first time camping as an adult, and I camped on my own for an entire week! Being female and only 31, I actually felt extremely safe! The wardens couldn't have been nicer, they were amazing. As I was camping on my own in a 5 berth tent they offered to help me erect it (although I declined as wanted to see if I could do it!), and they checked in on me occasionally to make sure I was ok, and always said hi and waved whenever they walked by. My fibreglass pole was starting to crack so the warden came over to have a look for me and offered to help me make it safer.

The site is far more beautiful then the website shows, and the area itself is just out of this world. You HAVE to visit Devils Bridge falls and opposite the PunchBowl waterfall, and take random walks around the area too. The shower/toilet block is I guess a little dated to some folks, but to be perfectly honest I thought it was perfect and gave that added extra feeling to the camping experience (however, I was told these are being completely updated for next season). The dish washing facilities were cosy with 2 sinks and excellent pressured hot water, and although outside were under a roof and surrounded by a half brick wall so adequetly coverered in bad weather. I visited the cafe once and have no complaints at all. The adjacent shop had very minimal supplies, and would suggest you don't rely on this other than for milk, bread, toiletries, biscuits and sweets.

Using the huge range of leaflets in the camping reception I arranged lots of amazing adventures: I went paragliding (for the first time!), visited the Red Kite centre 3 times (an absolute must!), drove down to New Quay beach and went on a boat trip to see the dolphins, had an adventurous 5 hour walk and found a random waterfall that I climbed up! I also went for a daytime drink at the nearby Hafod Arms, it was lovely to sit outside in the sunshine! I regeretfully didn't find time to go on the Steam Railway but I did walked around the area where it is stationed.

I didn't realise when I booked, but it was school holidays when I went camping, and I have to say that although the site appeared full of kids, it didn't bother me one bit. Dogs are allowed but MUST be kept on a lead at all times (which I totally agree with). I had an electric hook up and all hook ups were arranged very well.

I'm sure I'll think of plenty more to say once I've posted this (typical!), but this camping site is an absolute must! I will be booking myself in again to go next year (and again I'll probably be going on my own as my mates are too wimpish and prissy for camping! But I now have a puppy and will be taking him with me).

Remember, this was my first time camping and on my own, so in reality you'd expect me to have had a stressful or horrid time, but it was PERFECT! This holiday has been the highlight of the 15 years!

Stunning location, very scenic, sheltered camping field with generous pitches. We were lulled to sleep every night by a babbling brook, an owl calling & occasionally the lambs would 'party-hard' through the night.

Unexpected sculptures and features throughout the site, from old road signs & signposts to old traditional red phone boxes. Lovely surrounding walks for ourselves and our faithful pooch.

Teashop attached to site, (at entrance), which served a filling cooked breakfast, among other light meals and cakes. The tearooms were very homely and welcoming and also sold a variety of camping sundries, food basics, daily papers, and gifts.

Reception staff were very helpful and were able to provide info regarding places to visit. You could also obtain a money-off voucher to offset against your breakfast.

The only downside was the quality of the showers, otherwise a return visit is definite for these very happy campers.

Lovely quiet area with touring pitches nestled away in flat (well mowed) grassed area with back drop of mountains and woods.

The site has many large bronze statues of deer, bull, horses and bear, plus quirky old road signs, old farming machinery and two huge anchors that have children’s swings from the main cross rods – it all sounds completely naff, but works given the space and scale of the site.

Large pitches with EHU. Walks directly from site into the hills and valleys and 5-10 minutes’ walk into to Devils Bridge for waterfalls, hotel/pub, post office, store and train station. Steam train runs daily to Aberystwyth.

Site has tearooms (but closed on Wednesdays) and offers breakfasts. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and tidy site. Children’s play areas in both touring site and main static site.

Red kite off amazing displays. Highly recommend for those who require a none commercial countryside location to chill out and take in nature.

Nice site with lots of little parks for the kids, plus a bigger one by the static caravans.

Super friendly staff-our card wouldn't work when we arrived, so rather than take our cash, they told us to pay when we had sorted our card out!

Toilets were basic, but always clean with plenty of hot water (free showers). Excellent value for money at less than £25 a night in May half term, for a family of 8 people, 1 dog, and including a fee sor an extra large pitch. Pitches all seemed level.

Lots of walks for the family dog. There is a small stream and waterfall that the kids can paddle in if you go through the gate at the one end of the camping field.

There is a lovely little cafe and shop on site which is away from the camping field.

Pitches were a fair size (we have a Kampa Tenby 10).

Devils Bridge is a very short stroll from the site entrance (no foot path though) where there is a shop, pub, cash point, ice cream shop and the steam train station. We will 100% be returning to this site!

Having found this site by accident on the web, we were pleasantly surprised by what we found.

Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who took time to explain where we were to pitch our tent and the facilities, we had a quick snack in the tea room which was delicious.

Pitch was level even though the ground is hard and needs strong pegs, toilet block was clean and had plenty of hot water for showers.

Overall the site was quiet and well run, with plenty of places to walk the dog these could be better sign posted and if we had one criticism it would be the lack of bins for putting the doggy doo bags,

There is also plenty of room for children to play and let off steam without being a nuisance to others.

A trip to Devils Bridge and the Woodland walk is recommended.

Would definitely go back.

Visited 23 to 27 may and we couldn't have picked a worse time the weather was awful 70 mph winds and torrential rain but our gelert blizzaed tent stood up to all this without having to re peg thanks to the rock pegs I had previously bought and which I reccommend for this site as there is only an inch or two of soil but the grass was well drained and not at all muddy.

The toilets and showers were kept very clean with plenty of hot water with 3 showers and 4 toilets, there is a shop, tea room laundry, and a room with table tennis (but take your own bats)

The site has walks up the hills and the surrounding area is breathtaking. There is plenty to do locally eg. The waterfall is only 5 mins walk and well worth a visit for £3.50

A short drive can take you to a lake which you can walk around and watch the red kites being fed it is run by rspb

I think and there is a cafe and toilets and picnic area and viewing platforms

All in all a great site and I will return
