I'll keep this brief as I can't really add anything to the excellent reviews already posted about this excellent site!
Stayed here for two nights, travelling on my motorcycle with a two man tent. I don't think the showers were cold at all as mentioned by previous reviewers - not piping hot, but plenty warm enough for me! Facilities were always spotless.
Owners were all really nice. Pitch had a slight slope to it, but nothing to worry about. Shop is basic, but it's probably geared more towards the main users of the site who come in motorhomes or caravans and probably bring most of their provisions with them!
I'd say that this is the nicest campsite I've ever visited in nearly 40 years of camping!
There is a proper children's playground that looked ok to me.

What a wonderful site. The owners were friendly and helpful giving us information leaflets about the site and the area when we arrived. We could take our pick from any of the vacant hedged, secluded pitches. The site was clean, quiet and friendly.
The showers and toilets were spotless and there was plenty of hot water and lovely smelling hand cleaner. A fish and chip van visits on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Delicious. There is no noise apart from the birdsong and there are friendly blackbirds that visit your tent for titbits. Dogs are welcome and there is a designated dog walking area.
The on site shop is quite small but sells the all of the basics. Barbeques are welcomed, as long as they are off the grass.
There is a play area and children are encouraged to play there rather than kick bslls around other peoples tents and there is a 'speed limit' for bikes and skateboards.
The area is beautiful only a short walk from St Mawes and Just in Roseland Church, which if you haven't been is the most beautiful church and churchyard you could visit.
I would definitely recommend this site if you want peace and relaxation and lovely walks. If you are after a busy family site with a clubhouse and entertainment, then it's not for you.

We passed through here cycle touring on our way from Lands End to Bristol.
This is a very 'nice' campsite that I think appeals to the top end camper. Everything looks perfect with manicured lawns, hedges between pitches and well tended gardens in a nice valley. Although we enjoyed it, we found the cost of the pitch considerably more than what we paid elsewhere, but it was a long weekend and it is a top end campsite.
The facilities were good and the on site shop was very handy, particularly as we didn't have a car.
The fish and chip van on Saturday night is a particular highlight of the campsite, everyone queues up to get their which is nice.
I'd recommend this site if this is what you are looking for.

Overall a lovely quiet little site, we would happily stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending others to do so.
The site is reached by a narrow lane a few hundred yards long from the main road. We did not encounter any vehicles coming the opposite way, if you did whilst towing it might be interesting!
The site generally is very well presented, immaculately kept, clean & tidy. We stayed in a tent and found our pitch to have a slight slope, most of the tent pitches did, but the slope wasn't enough to be a real problem and the pitches were quite roomy. We did get the impression the caravans had the better pitches around the outside.
The shower and toilet blocks are finished to high standard and kept spotlessly clean, although there aren't many.It was very quiet when we visited, it's not hard to imagine some congestion at busy times. The showers are free and piping hot!
The shop is a bit basic, but we were very early in the season and the owners admitted it wasn't properly stocked yet. The reception and info area are as immaculate as the rest of the site.
Owners very friendly and helpful.
A very quiet site, no bar or food outlet. We did not use the other facilities such as the playground.
It is an easy walk into St Just, although you have to cross several fields and there is little there. St Maws is an easy drive, and a pleasant walk along the coast path.

What a fantastic site! Just got back from a one week visit to this site and enjoyed every minute.
Situated in the heart of Cornwall you approach the site up a very narrow road and that's about the only down side of this site. But, then again, the lane is only about 300 yds long, so it ain't that bad.
As you turn into the site you can see it spread out before you. The site slopes, but all the pitches appeared to be level, ours certainly was.
Check in was warm friendly and very efficient. The shop sells very basic groceries, newspapers can be ordered in as well.
The information room is the best I've ever seen, as well as all the usual leaflets of places to see and visit. There is a huge map on the wall, showing you exactly where everything is.
The whole site was spotless, with the shower blocks particularly worthy of praise. The site has a children play area and play field for the kids. A chip van visits on Saturdays but we didn't get a chance to sample the goods. TV reception was via a hook up, not all pitches have this facilty, so I can't comment on what reception is like without it.
The area has lots to do and see, with Truro a short drive away, Eden Project is a bit pricey but a fantastic day out. Falmouth is great too, we went via the ferry from St. Mawes and where lucky enough to see dolphins leaping around the boat.
Just wish we could have stayed longer!

A lovely site where we stayed for ten nights during September. It had an informal and friendly feel to it, helped by the integration of tents and caravans, which gave a nice variety of interesting ways of enjoying a holiday.
The place is immaculate at all times and it was unusual but helpful to have 24/7 access to the facilities which were constantly cleaned throughout the day. We did however feel the same as the previous reviewer who thought the showers could have been hotter; this was the only issue we had with the site and it probably would not stop us from returning - although it was at times a little bracing and ensured that one did not linger too long with the ablutions!
The location of the site is in a wonderful part of Cornwall on the Roseland Peninsula and well worth a visit. Plenty of walking and loads to do. Places recommended for walking or visiting are St Anthony Head; also a new National Trust location called Messack Point running along St Just Creek (check out the lovely church nearby too); Trelisick Gardens (National Trust) - the trees are just magnificent; Towan Beach (great for dogs and rock pools) to Porthbeor and across the fields to the Percuil River and back round.
St Mawes is the nearest town about 4 miles away and the only source of shopping for perishables at a tiny Co-Op. Take a walk up to St Mawes Castle where you can get some lovely views across to Falmouth and Pendennis Castle. St Mawes is an old fishing port and where most of the ferries go from to get across to Falmouth and elsewhere. You can purchase discounted tickets for the ferries from the site. Plenty of places to eat here too, although we didn't try any of them.
We had a good meal one rainy Sunday at the Kings Head near Tregony - very popular. The service was very good and very friendly.
This is a wonderful holiday if you enjoy the fresh air and walking. The site is very dog friendly too with a wonderful dog walk, which we also enjoyed even though we don't have a dog. The small shop would keep you out of trouble if you had forgotten any basics and we can recommend the sausages!
The family have worked very hard with the site and it deserves all the awards it has achieved.

I have to say this is one of my favourite campsites and I have stayed here many times over the last 15 years.
When I first started coming the pitches were mostly grass based but now more and more have become all weather pitches (gravel). Although initially I wasn't that keen for tents, with a good groundsheet it is fine and stops the mud when the great Cornish weather produces 'liquid sunshine'.
It is spotlessly clean and the owners each year spend a lot of time and effort making still more improvements for the following year. There are rules regarding kids and where they can / cannot play but with a play area and playing field there is plenty of space for them to burn off energy. We tend to spend our days on the great local beaches like Pendower and Towan and walking around the coast or exploring so a play area on site is not hugely important for us. They do play around the tent area so I think the no play rule is there for those that tend to abuse these things. Although admittedly, I have never been there in the peak summer holidays.
The shop is not that big although there are good convenience stores at St Mawes and Portscatho. The pub in Portscatho is also excellent and welcomes kids so ideal for a an evening meal. The Roseland Inn at Philleigh looks great, chocolate box thatched pub, but service and food was disappointing.
My only small criticism is the showers are a tad on the cold side at Easter.
I'll be back.
Its a fabulous site in a fantastic area.

An absolutely wonderful site, perfect location with super countryside all around and close to lovely beaches. The owners are always around and work extremely hard to keep the site so immaculate. Facilities spotless and whenever you visit they always look like they have just been cleaned (they probably have!). A well deserved list of impressive awards welcome you and the 2010 best site trophy is proudly displayed in the nice shop and reception.
Pitches are roomy and many are hard standing for vans/motorhomes. Hookup and TV boosters available. All in all on reflection this review sounds like an advert so for the sake of constructive criticism I feel that the lighting at night should be more muted to allow one to star gaze more easily (I am sure the lighting is more necessary, but I like seeing the Milky Way) and I would personally prefer the showers 1 or 2 degrees warmer!

Brilliant! This was our fist outing in our new tent and the weather really put it to the test, it barely stopped raining the whole time we were there.
We were so very impressed with this campsite and I think it has set the standard for our future camping holidays, which it seems looking around, I am going to struggle to match.
As soon as we booked this site we received a confirmation email and directions to the site which were very easy to follow, as soon as we arrived we were welcomed by the friendly owners who were very happy to help. We found our pitch and set up quickly and easily, we had EHU and were close to the toilet block which was very handy.
The wash facilities exceeded my expectations they were clean, tidy, warm and even piped music into the building 24/7 and they really gave a home from home experience, there wasn't one bit of dirt to be seen anywhere which was a miracle considering the weather, there was plenty of hot water and I only had to queue for a shower once which I thought was good going.
The washing up facilities were immaculate, plenty of sinks, hot water and inside a nice warm building.
There were some very nice touches to this campsite such as a little fresh herb garden that you could help yourself too.
This was a family site with a little play area at the bottom of the site and plenty of recycling facilities, it was very quiet but this suited us as this is what we wanted.
The site is sloping which I was a bit disappointed about, but it was manageable and this probably allowed for good drainage which stopped up getting swamped by the rain.
The shop appeared to be well stocked with essentials, there was a very nice laundry room, disabled wash room and information centre. WiFi was available for a small fee.
We loved this site and would definitely recommend it, it has had many awards over the years and each one is truly deserved.

Spent a lovely week at Trethem Mill during July - can honestly say it is the most immaculate campsite I've ever seen! Well deserves its 5 star rating.
The only single downside is that there is nothing at all within easy walking distance so you're either stuck on site in the evening or need to drive to one of the local villages (nearest one is 2.5 miles, or 4 miles to St Mawes).
The site itself is really amazingly well conceived and well run. The pitches are very well spaced with plenty of low hedges to break the wind and provide privacy. The toilets and facilities are absolutely spotless - modern and cleaned several times per day. Free hot water and hot showers, and a great little laundry room. Very good recycling facilities too.
Owners are nice and friendly but they WILL tell your kids off if they ride their bikes too fast or are caught messing around!
Good little shop on site but only open 8-10am and 5-7pm which isn't quite late enough in my mind - if you get back late from a day out then its a pain when the shop is shut!
I honestly can't really fault the site itself at all, I only wish it was closer to a village or pub or something or even a sea view. Also its a good drive to get off the St Mawes peninsula and into 'mainland' cornwall which adds an extra 30 mins to any excursions!
