Amazing fantastic welcoming helpful staff !
I arrived at the last minute with a newly bought bargain tent and sleeping bag not having planned to stay overnight anywhere. I didn't even have my membership card or anything. I was immediately found a pitch under trees for my cheap tent as rain was imminent and offered the use of a hammer and anything else I may need to set up. The fish and chip van arrived with my tea and the wardens found me some dog food for my 4 legged friend and gave me directions for several dog walks.
The toilets and showers were lovely and clean and lots of space and the kids on site all seemed to be having fun.
My short stay was wonderful and I will return very soon with the rest of the family.

Large club site in a clearing in the woods near the North Norfolk Coast. Two large facilities blocks with decent sized shower cubicles and well up to usual club standards. Quite busy on our visit but never had to queue. Some level pitches, despite being in a woodland clearing it can be windy. Good Motorhome service point.
West Runton railway station about a mile away but be prepared to hike over the hill through the poisonous snake and bat infested woods (it's not that bad really, never saw a snake but did see a bat one night). Services to Sheringham and Cromer only about 5 minutes running time and £2. 50 day return.
Plenty of dog walking around off site, we even went down to the beach one evening (about 2 miles) and dogs are allowed on part of it.
Would definitely go back to this site in future.

Having stayed on this site several times we found it a very pleasant place to spend a holiday. The facilities were very clean always cleaned every day at the same time and the wardens were always pleasant and helpful. The site itself was very quiet and relaxing, it is also close to several seaside towns of interest, and there is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.

This site is a credit to the Caravan Club. Beautifully clean facilities, very helpful and friendly staff.
The information area was well stocked with useful leaflets of things to do.
There is a lovely walk to Cromer and then you can walk back along the beach.
Be aware there are no machines for getting cash in West Runton unless you buy something in the local shop for more than £5 and then you can get cashback.
The walks are doggie heaven. Will definitely return - thank you.

Have just returned from four great days at this wonderful site.
On arrival, bit worried as we started down the lane, thinking what on earth have we done? BUT turned the corner at the bottom and it was like an oasis.
Warden was waiting for us and had to admit we got a bit confused when told to drive around the big circle and get back to virtually where we started.
Picked our pitch and although it was a bit uneven we did get level eventually.
Loos and showers very clean, warm and spacious.
Pot wash also clean and fit for purpose.
Didn't use the shop but appeared to have the basics.
Can walk to East and West Runton easily and both are good for shops, pubs and lovely beaches. Can also walk to Cromer in about 40 minutes.
Fish and chip van visits site on Wednesday and Saturday, nice meal if you don't want to cook.
Wardens knowledgeable and very helpful and worked hard to keep site clean and tidy, mowed grass everyday(picking it up also), facilities always clean.
Can't wait to return to a first class site. 10/10.

Just spent three days at this site. Had problem on arrival as I could not locate my wife's membership card which was apparently a problem and I was told in no uncertain terms that if I could not produce her card then she would have to pay full rate. As all our details are on the C. C & C data base, I found the attitude by this particular member of staff offensive and unnecessary. Site is fine, toilets and showers are fabulous but the access to the site is awful and urgently needs addressing.

We visited West Runton site in peak season with friends in another touring caravan and daughter and her partner in a tent.
The entrance/exit is a long unmade stone and gravel lane that is just a little more than a caravans width with passing places. It has a few bumps and holes, but taken slowly with care not too bad. Our main gripe is the inconsiderate people that think its fine to come onto site before 12 midday, we watched this happen most days. Because of this we felt we needed to be off site well before 12! It might be a good idea for the C&C Club to state strict arrival/departure times on their print off booking forms, or a sign at the top of the lane prohibiting caravan/motorhome access before 12.
Gripe over! The site is lovely, yes caravans may need chocs, and yes some of the pitches may be a little shadey but that's all part of being in the middle of the N/Trust on a non regimented site. The wardens were friendly and happy to accommodate our party, and were quite happy to let us pitch our caravans awning to awning.
The showers and toilets were some of the cleanest we have seen even though the site was really busy. Over the other side of the site is a nice play area. The dog walking is excellent - straight onto footpaths out of the site, we did walks to Cromer, Sheringham and West Runton. As previously said in reviews, excellent site with plenty of places to visit, and although busy, still seemed quiet, we would go back.

We went to this site primarily to test our new tent before we took it abroad. We had visited friends on this site before and were impressed with the facilities, although the road in filled my wife with apprehension (I think she would have walked behind if we had taken the caravan) As others have said it is a problem but if taken slowly and no one comes the other way it is manageable. As everyone says lovely site run by good wardens (who know their job and do it well). Even though the site was fully booked they allowed me to choose which pitch I wanted. Really impressed me. Definitely going back as there is so much to see and do in the area.

We stayed at this site over Jubilee Weekend, Despite being full we still got a lovely pitch near the play area, with plenty of room.
The toilet and showers blocks are the best I've seen, and kept clean and stocked. The staff ran the site very efficiently and check in went smoothly even though we seemed to arrive at a very busy time.
The site is nestled in the woods and has numerous walks from the site. If you walk up the hill you get fantastic sea views and with the fell ponies and wild deer, it has a lovely magical wild feel.
We all loved it. Our 8 & 10 year old have designated this as there favourite site, and I think I agree with them.

Our first visit to the site & we will most definitely be returning. Plenty of dog walks around the site (which our 1 year old springer loved!) & only a half hour steady stroll into East & West Runton Villages which both have access to beaches. Cromer is only another 20 minute walk along the beach from East Runton. Would recommend The Village Pub in West Runton - very dog friendly, excellent for food & some nice guest ales. There are also a couple of nice pubs in East runton & a well stocked local shop which does cashback when you spend over a fiver if you're unable to get into Cromer to an ATM.
Facilities were excellent - very clean & plentiful. The site wasn't very busy when we visited but would imagine you wouldn't have to wait very long (if at all) when they were busy.
Cromer is about a 10 minute drive away & has a Co-op, Morrisons & Budgens if you need to do a 'Big Shop'. Would recommend visiting Sheringham Park - some excellent walks some of which take you all the way back down to the beaches & give the option to jump on the North Norfolk Railway & pick up the footpath further along the track! Our only gripe (. Albiet a minor one) was the fish & chip van which visited the site on Thursday & Saturday - the portion sizes were not what we expected & whilst the fish was tasty the chips left a lot to be desired & at £13 for 2x fish, chips & peas we expected a little more for our money. Will be trying the Fish & Chip shop in the village next time.
In respect of the road access to the site - yes it is a bit on the bumpy side to say the least & can imagine it would be a little challenging for those towing a caravan but don't let that put you off - nothing good ever came easy! Apart from that we would highly recommend this site & we will be looking to book up to re-visit later this year (hopefully when the weather is a little warmer!)
