 Lovely site, just off the A66 between Keswick and Penrith. Very well laid out, great children's play area, very generous pitches and nice facilities including a bonus log cabin complete with TV, microwave and Kettle for guests to use! TV was popular as we couldn't get a signal on ours!
Lovely people running the site, and cannot fault the layout or facilities.
Only slight downside was road noise from the A66, but that is a slight detractor and wouldn't stop us from staying again.
Gill Head is a working farm complete with cows, sheep and hens to gawp at!

Just come back from 3 nights at this lovely site. The owners are very friendly, easy going people who run a great camp site that is bedecked with flower beds and hanging baskets. It is quiet and peaceful with wonderful views but within easy reach of both Keswick and Penrith for shopping etc.
The facilities are not exactly super posh but they were always spotlessly clean with plenty of hot water for showering and washing up and the log cabin is a bonus with its microwaves and kettle. An excellent site that will become our regular place to stay whenever we visit the Northern Lakes.

2003/2004
We stay at this camp site on our weekend visits to the Lakes. WE like it because it is half way between Penrith and Keswick but still has beautiful views of Blencathra. We just turn up and never have to book, they let us pitch up and settle the bill the following day. The only downside is the fact that the field isnt very flat and because the site was busy this weekend we were pitched on a slope.
