We expected it to be cold but I think it beat all records while we were there. Dingwall is a lovely town and the coast road north has some great scenery, seals and even a dolphin in the Firth.
The site was well kept, the staff friendly and helpful even to the extent of pointing out local attractions only on for the day.
Definitely a place to visit again.

Like all Camping and Caravan club sites we had a pleasant stay with friendly staff - toilet blocks and showers were clean and tidy. In motor-home terms though there is no hard standing. We were still well accommodated and were allowed to park at the end of a tarmac'd strip as the ground was quite soggy, our motor-home would have churned up the grass quite badly. There is also no motor-home service point either. That said we still had an excellent stay, Dingwall itself is a short walk away via the canal bank behind but there's nothing spectacular to see there it's just a pleasant Scottish Town. There is a huge Tesco's there which makes shopping easy. Ross County FC is next to the site and you can hear the players training but it's not really a problem. A nice afternoon visit would be to go to Urqhuart Castle by Loch Ness - about 1 hours drive away down the A82. Beware of midges although not quite as bad as some places.

Very friendly site team who welcomed me with open arms.Very clean toilets and shower block. We was lucky with the weather as it was the hottest on record for this time of year. Very close to town only a 10 min walk along the river and railway line. Although close to the railway the trains do not run very often. Excellent stop for site seeing in the area and a good spot for dolphin watching.

First of all, I arrived on the opening day of the season at this CCC site, stayed 5 nights and the weather was awful start to finish! Very friendly site team who welcomed me with open arms.Very clean toilets and shower block.
Ground appeared to be clay and got pretty waterlogged while I was there, which must have been disappointing to the management. However no facilities for children as such and pretty noisy from outside the site.
Railway, football ground, canal, and road all adjacent to the site. I wouldn't hesitate to go again ( I usually travel solo) but it might not be to everyone's taste.

A very pleasant site well situated walk in to town takes 5 minutes. Within easy reach by car of The Black Isle Dornoch, Tain, Invergordon, Alness, Evanton(Black Rock), Strathpeffer and Inverness. Dingwall has a fair selection of shops, bars restaurants,a museum and on the hill to the South of the town a large monument to the memory of Sir Hector McDonald (Fighting Mac). To the North lies Ben Wyvis. The town has an indoor swimming pool and a small park with a childrens play area. For those interested in football Ross County's Victoria is close to the site.
The site is well run and the wardens friendly and helpful. I am not a Caravan and Camping member and I found the cost excessive when there were but two showers male and two showers female, one drinking water tap and one waste disposal point for aproximately 100 vans and tents.

Small clean friendly site. very nice flat pitches and well kept. The 'round Dingwall walk' is adjacent to the site, as well as a football ground. Not easy too find unless you know to head for the football ground. Nearby Railway only seemed to have slow trains as very close to station, so not really a problem. Yes, we will use this site again if in the area.

June 2005 A small quiet friendly site. The pitches are level and there are lots of electric points. The toilet block is really nice and the water is always hot. 20p for hairdryer. Washing machine, tumble dryer and iron, for a small price. The manager and staff were really friendly and helpful.
The site is central to a lot of places. The Black Isle is about 10mins drive away. The town is approx 5 mins walk. The town has everything including a 24hr tesco's.
The downside to this site is: the road leading to the site is also the road with the football stadium. There is a canal behind the site (I only mention this because we have children), though there is a high wooden fence around the whole site. To the side of the site a few feet away from the fence is a railway line. Though not used by high speed trains, so the noise is acceptable. To the other side of the site over a field is a cadets shooting range. And lastly there is no park for the kids.
Overall the site is very nice, well taken care of and the staff were lovely. Also it was central, 11 miles to Inverness. We hope to go to this site again
