We were really looking forward to visiting this site, it looked great in the C&CC guide and on here. Finally we pulled up on site late afternoon Friday, a very warm and pleasant welcome and easy check in. We were warned that the wind may get up over night and asked if there was some where that may be a little sheltered. After being show a great pitch we set up camp. Fantastic. Ventured over to the toilet blocks for a nose as you do. Again as we would expect. Imaculate, clean, modern, warm, first class. We found the site to be perfect grounds very well kept and lush, security as you would expect. Washing up area nice and clean and bright and bin areas kept clean and tidy. Out of 10? 9, I mark it down one point as they close the shower block from 10.30 to 2.00. Now I know it has to be cleaned but for some what a later riser here than others this did makes things a bit rushed. That is just my opinion but still welcomed the clean facilities. Now then the down side and I am afraid the site has no control over this. The site is right next door to a wild life park. So right next door you are almost sharing the lions enclosure. This is really worth going along for the day I must say it was one of the best I have seen. Only problem is. The birds, yep you guessed it. At the crack of dawn it was a case of find every pillow possible to bury your head under. We are used to birds when we are camping but not in that volume. I am not sure Caravaners will have so much a problem. Couple that with the odd roar from the lion and you really did feel you were camping in Africa! It did not spoil our visit though, just took some getting use to. Now then on Sunday mornings there is a huge, and I mean huge Car Boot sale in the field next door. Whilst this does not give you any problems it can be a little noisy first thing on the Sunday morning. Aagain Caravaners may not have a problem with this. If you love car boot sales then get up and join them, it really is huge. A slight down side is it can make getting out on a Sunday morning a little slower than normal but nothing to worry about. Overall a great site and would go back and recommend. Flat and green. Nice trees and well kept. Every pitch has ehu. Enjoy.

Kessingland is the site we have been to the most and it's a well kept site. Enclosed by trees and hedging all around. The shower blocks are probably among the best in the C&CC. There is only 1 mind you for the whole site, but it's not a long walk from the lower end and never seems to be too busy. As usual there is only a slide and a couple of swings for the kids. We've always managed to get a pitch that we want and usually been able to get friends and family alongside. The wardens (this and last year) Scott and Michelle and friendly and even at 10pm trying to save someones TT from the wind Scott had a smile on his face. The chip van arrives twice a week, Pakefield has various eating places and Morrison's is close by. The beach at Lowestoft is sandy, Kessingland itself is pebbly, but Southwold about 15 minutes away is clean and sandy. Livingstone's pub on the corner of whites lane offer a decent meal / carvery and there are several others in the village.

Stayed here for 2 weeks in the Summer. Excellent site next to the Suffolk Wildlife Park. It was lovely sitting in the evening listening to the animals. Toilets and all facilities really clean, the biggest shower cubicles I have seen - great when you have kids with you. Friendly staff and great Fish and Chip van - even if we had to queue. Easy access to beaches, especially Southwold. RSPB reserve at Mimsmere was a nice day out just walking around the huge site. Made for a good holiday even when the weather was not brilliant.

We stayed here for 2 nights with our new tent. The staff were very friendly. It is a lovely site, not too big. The toilet block was immaculately clean. Considering we have had a lot of rain the grass was not muddy! The site is within walking distance to the wildlife park which was great. 5 minute ride to the beach, look out for the seals! 10/10 for the fish and chip van! We will definitely visit again.

We found the staff very friendly and helpful on arrival. The site was quite busy so we didn't have many choices of pitch, so we were near the play area which was fine for the kids but meant we were a little way from the toilet block and washing up facilities. The site was lovely and clean as were the toilets/showers. The shop stocked a few essentials and a fish and chip van visits twice a week during high season. Although if you do decide on chips make sure you get in the queue before the van arrives. I waited about 35 mins in line for our tea! Hubby enjoyed the boot sale which is held on sundays, but it also means you get disturbed by cars fairly early in the morning in the next field. Suffolk wildlife park is next door and well worth a visit, and you get a discount when staying at the site. Southwold beach and village was lovely. There is a morrisons, pizza hut and macdonalds a few minutes drive away.

What a site. We have just returned from our Holiday at this site, cannot fault this beautiful site. Everything was up to cc&c standards and more. The wardens were so friendly and helpful, they made you very welcome, the beach is only 5 minutes away, morrisons up the road, and there a few small shops in kessingland, we didn't like the meal we Had at the pub at the top of the road, but can recommend the sailors rest by the beach, and the 5 bells on the way to Southwold There is so much to see and do in the area, that we didn't have time to see it all, Southwold is about 10 mins away in the car, lovely place, we had a really relaxing holiday and we will be going back! You even have the parrots singing to you from the wildlife park next to the site!

We were disappointed with this site - the staff were definitely not friendly! Was told off when I arrived for not having my CCC card with me (although previous site in April had said it didn't matter!).
Then they tried to blame us for not telling them how big our tent was when we booked when we said that we would have difficulty in fitting onto the pitch they were offering (even though we had filled out the size on the web booking form when booking weeks before!). Eventually they stuck us right next to the play area (even though we had said we didn't want to be next to the play area!). Later we discovered 2 empty pitches the other end of the site that would have been ideal for us!
The pitch near the play area was noisy, particularly late at night (children running around and screaming at 10.00 pm at night - and yes we do have children of our own!) The neighbours also decided to have a late-night badminton match over our tent as well one evening - the best evening was when it heaved it down and everyone spend it in their caravan/tent!
Also note that they run a Sunday car boot sale right next to the site - can make getting out on a Sunday morning difficult!
The facilities themselves were fine, modern and clean (although the toilets always smelt a bit - didn't appear dirty though, so maybe a drains problem?) All in all this could have been a nice stay, but was spoiled by the poor pitch and unfriendly staff.

May 2005 Flat site, good facilities. small kids play area. convenient for wildlife park. Loads of birdsong (both from local species and some from within the park).
Plenty of local tourist info. shop is basic but shops in Kessingland village (just under a mile). Morrisons supermarket 3 miles towards Lowestoft.
Pub serving good grub at entrance to wildlife park.
We've been twice and will no doubt go back again.
