Just back from a 3 night break at this lovely site was greeted by extremely friendly staff who showed us where we were pitched and where everything was and was told that the gates shut at 11pm and opens at 7am but in an emergency instructions was put on reception door.
Site was spotless as was all amenities, two toilet blocks, one at each end of site housing ladies, gents, disabled/family room and launderette.
Pitch was huge could of got two campervans and a great big tent on it, own electric, tv and water point.
Fishing lake on site which we used but we only caught little rudd, little perch, a skimmer bream although we did see a fair size carp caught by a young lad, and a 2lb bream caught by a young girl much to her dads dismay. Lake was extremely weedy shame as it could be a great fishery.
Excellent fish and chip shop at roughton and very reasonable, highly recommend.
If you want total relaxation in a peaceful location then this site is for you.
Please be aware you may experience loss of mobile signal so if your mobile is important take note, apart from that we had a cracking break.
Thanks to all the staff at deers glade for an memorable trip.

We visited this site during the May bank holiday weekend and it has to be one of the best if not THE best site we have visited.
The welcome was good with no long list of rules, which makes a pleasant change. We were camping with two other families and they arrived first, but were allowed to save us space near them.
The toilet/shower block has to be the nicest we have ever found, nice decor, clear and fantastic showers (better than we have at home!). The only slight downside is there is only 4 showers in each block (8 in total) so during busy mornings you may need to wait - but they are worth the wait.
The grass is kept nice and short, and if you are EHU then pitches are nicely sectioned off.
There is a fishing lake (which is fenced off for small children), a small sheep and goat which the children's loved. The playground is lovely and centally located. The shop is well stocked and reasonably priced. On the Saturday night the site organised a Hog Roast (with hot dogs for the children, and veggie burgers for the Veggies) this was a really lovely touch (not sure how often they do this).
The location is great being 10-15mins drive to Cromer and there is lots to do in the area. We went to a lovely Amazona Zoo and BeWilderwood is a must if you have young children.
All in all one of the best campsites we have ever visited and will definitely want to visit again.

This campsite is simply stunning. Great individually hedged off sections for each tent, ensuring good privacy and shelter. Lovely play area and friendly feel, our daughter made lots of friends and the children all went around in a big gang together. Absolutely no trouble either. Toilet blocks (of which there are 2 on each side) are luxurious compared to some sites. Very modern and clean. Really great amenities throughout that cannot be faulted. The ability to have a campfire without any silly rules was great. Took our own fire pit and wood. Good down-lighting on the site at night and quiet, without being overly autocratic. They held a communal hog roast whilst we were there, but it was expensive for just a roll and ran out very quickly. All in all a fabulous campsite for all ages. Would definitely go back, without any hesitation.

Just got back from a 3 night break at this campsite, been a few times now and we have booked again for September. Facilities are clean and nice, site is kept clean and accessible at all times. The pitch we had could have fitted our tent 4 times over (88).
Very well placed to get to Cromer and Sheringham in 10-15 minutes by car. Looking forward to going back in September,
Shop well stocked. There is some lovely walks around the site and would recommend the Hog Roast they do on a Saturday night. Only moan I have is that we don't live nearer so we can go more often

We have acquired a Delonghi Bambino heater and I am very keen to try it out in our tent. However, last weekend we had very little time and when we realised that we would have to put our tent up in the dark on the Friday evening and there was the possibility that it would be wet when we took it down on the Sunday we compromised and arranged to stay in a megapod.
When we arrived in the dark on the Friday we were made welcome and shown the pod and the trolleys which were available to transport our belongings along the walkway. It was warm and comfortable and the adjoining shower pod was quite spacious, very convenient and warm. It was windy and cold and the pod was sheltered and I cooked breakfast outside on both days.
We enjoyed a very relaxing stay, visited Cromer, which we know well, and thoroughly recommend the fish and chip shop at Roughton.
The Megapod is an excellent way to spend a relaxing time in this part of Norfolk in the winter.

This site was recommended and it did not disappoint. Showers very clean, have underfloor heating, and are well maintained. Only thing that were 5 showers in each block (2 male, 2 female and 1 disabled/family room) which mean in high season it might not be possible to shower when you want. However we didn't have that problem. Wash up facilities excellent and have plenty hot water almost instantaneous. Chemical toilet disposal facilities clearly maked and so is fresh water. Beautiful site which is understandably a gem. Surrounded by forest which helps with sheltering. Spoke to caravan owners who like it so much there is currently a waiting list for places. Met and welcomed by staff and nothing was too much problem. Only gripe we have is that Wifi is expensive at £10 for 24 hours use. Shop has essentials but we did not use this as we came prepared. Would recommend a visit to Cromer which has all the main supermarkets on the main road in. We will definitely return her again as the site is quiet at ths time of year and is open all year round as 'tenters' we like and pitches are big. All have EHU apart from open field near lake.

Just had a lovely weekend at Deers Glade. First time we've been and went for the fireworks display which was well worth the £3 entry and rivalled local big displays!
The site was well laid out, clean, tidy and welcoming.
The toilets were warm and clean.
I felt the arrival was a little rushed, even though we were the only ones arriving at that time - I would have liked to be told a little about the site whilst in reception, particularly as it was a first visit.
Overall, a lovely site though and plan to return sometime when the weather is warmer with the bikes.

This was our 3rd visit to Deers Glade this year and loved every minute of it
1st time was Easter, its such a family orientated & friendly site. It was such a relaxing break, the boys were on the play area the whole time, only coming back for food & drinks ! We were in a position to watch them from our van. Easter Sunday Deers Glade organised an Easter Egg hunt, we loved it answering the questions, looking for clue etc, walking around the site through the woods and over to Muntjac field was really enjoyable
2nd time was bank holiday weekend in August, again another enjoyable long weekend, with the children playing most of the time ! Its nice that they have 1 play area and they all seem to stay together. Meeting new friends and all joining in a game of football.
Hog Roast evenings are a big must ! they are delicious. We took our own drinks and sat under the wind sails near the park, enjoyed our rolls and the boys went off to play ! This left the adults all chatting away til dark. A great atmosphere
We had our 3rd weekend last week, weather was terrible, heavy rain, wind and hail. It was very quiet on the site. We had no problems at all
Every visit we have had the showers, toilets etc have always been immaculate and staff have always been very helpful.
If I could fault one thing it would be the wi-fi, a lot of places are receiving wi-fi for free, Here you pay £1 per hour etc and when you have paid for the code, it doesn't always work ??

Just come back from this site, the site is very well kept, clean tidy and everything well maintained, the fishing is rubbish 10 days and never a fish and other fishermen the same, the children are noisy on the field which spoilt it for us a pity really as we like the area and the site itself is good.
The pitches are a good size and the grass well cut, the chip shop in roughton is very good and Grovelands is well worth a visit for a cup of coffee, very peaceful.
Would like to go again but doubt that we will as I said the fishing is very poor, and the site can be noisy.

Lovely friendly and clean site.
We didn't go for EHU and were kindly shown to our pitch by the staff as they explianed the 5 metres between tents rule. We pitched next to the lake and so used our windbreak to block the waters edge from our 4 year old daughter. We weren't blocking any fishing access. Despite this fishermen and their families insisted on squeezing down the side of our tent and windbreak and even dismantled our windbreak whilst we were out one day.
The facilities here are really amazing and spotlessly clean. The children's playground was great but was very noisy until quite late at night. As the site got busier more and more groups of campers arrived with large tents and gazebo's. The 5 metre rule seemed to go out of the window as tents got more and more squashed in. As camping in groups becomes more popular it may be an idea to allocate a certain area for them and another area for solo campers? We do both and I definitely think that the camping experience and expectations are very different.
Having said the above, we are planning to go back to Deers Glade but would pay for an allocated ehu pitch. This would eliminate unfriendly fishermen and the issue of tents pitching closer than they should do - posing a fire risk. I agree with a previous reviewer, why have a rule if you then don't enforce it? Lovely part of Norfolk - Sea Palling beach has to be one of the best places on the planet on a sunny day!
