Really great site. Toilets and Showers perfectly acceptable. Pub on site that looked like all the locals were using it for dinner. Aysgarth really near by, as is Leyburn town centre. It is ideally located for visiting Forbidden Corner. If you haven't been there make it a priority. Fun for all ages, labrynith's and mazes galore. Camp/tent area is on an incline so we did roll to the corner of our tent by morning! It was our first time and can't wait to go again.

Originally booked in at a site just down the road, but a mistake with bookings meant we were not happy and decided to try Street Head Farm instead. We had stopped here during August Bank Holiday 2003 and enjoyed it but found the facilities quite a trek, having pitched at the very bottom of the bottom field (sloping but lots of space). This time we got an electric pitch on the top field (flat and lots of space), not so far to spend a penny (or 20 for a shower). The facilities were always clean with plenty of hot water for the wash basins (some hand soap wouldn't go amiss, though). There was loads of space for the kids to run & cycle about as the bottom field was virtually empty and only ourselves (two families) on the top field tent pitches (vans pitch on hard standing around the perimeter of the field).
There is a good pub next to the site and the villages of Thoralby and West Burton are just a short walk, both with pubs and the odd shop. Leyburn and Hawes are approx 10 miles away to the East and West and Kettlewell is not much further to the South. This makes the site ideally located as a base for exploring the dales, both on foot or by car. Overall a super site. Hopefully won't take us four years to visit again. PS. Weather was glorious which always helps when camping!

We were struggling to find a campsite with vacancies for a busy July weekend and this was a bit of a last resort as they could fit us in. The lack of any reviews on the website did put us off a bit as well. However the campsite was fine. Tents can camp either in the middle of a caravan section which is closer to the toilet block or down the next field which is sloping but loads of room. We chose the latter and did find ourselves rolling to the bottom of the sleeping bags a bit but the huge amount of space and the fact that it was an enclosed area meant that the kids could play quite happily. Facilties are basic - plenty of toilets and two showers (20p) on each side. All was kept pretty clean and the heaters in the showers would be great on a cold day. There is no site shop but there is a good pub on site and the food was pretty tasty. The site is ideally placed for visits to Aysgarth Falls, Hawes and Leyburn and is in a perfect setting. Cost £12 per night per tent - regardless of the number of people.
