A very good site with plenty of things to do and pitches which are spacious. For the stay we had, was pleasant and not to pricey. All close to hand and the weather was changeable.

We will be looking to use them again in the future.

If people use the site as it is intended there should be no complaints from either the vendor or customer. Leave it as you would expect to fond it clean and tidy. This keeps you happy and also tells the owners you are responsible.

Just spent a week at searles, 2 adults and 2 children, what a great site,

Had a super pitch (no. 70) opposite the toilet block which was perfect, facilities were superb,

Weather was very kind so using the outdoor pool was a bonus. Great golf course, fishing lakes, beach front, takeaway (very reasonable) tennis courts, evening entertainment etc.

There really was something for everyone, toilet block spotlessly clean also never need to queue. Very friendly staff,

Beautiful town of hunstanton 10 min walk, also 2 minute walk to tesco.

I would highly recommend this site for a week or 2 as there is so much to do. I will return in the future

We have just returned from a week at Searles. We visited with a friend and her son, who wanted a site with a pool. The cost per night was considerably more than we would usually pay for a campsite, so we were expecting a lot from the facilities.

When we arrived the site appeared very busy, but it was a Saturday. You cannot check in until 2pm which was frustrating as we would have preferred to get pitched earlier. The site stayed busy during the entire stay, with even young children staying up late and riding up and down the tarmac path on scooters etc. For a family-friendly site, it was very noisy, and although there were 'security patrols', they didn't seem to do anything.

We had a standard EHU pitch, which was adequate to fit our tent and our car. However, a lot of tents filled the entire pitches, so people were parking on the tarmac, even though a designated pedestrian walkway had been painted - therefore you had to risk walking in the road, which was narrow, and you had to dodge the go karts and kids on bikes and scooters. There were also some groups who had multiple tents on the same pitch, and hence multiple cars - it would seem that you only have to pay per pitch and could have as many tents on that space as you wish. If we had known that, we would have got a bigger pitch and fitted both tents on. We also found the hedges round the pitches gave the site a claustrophobic feel, and we had a big hole in the middle of our pitch which left a boggy area under our tent for the entire week.

The shower and toilet block furthest from the entrance was like something out of the 1970's in terms of decor. Some toilets didn't have doors, or working locks, and one soap dispenser was empty for 2 days before it was refilled. The showers were warm but dirty and you had to keep pressing the button every 5 seconds for more water. Facilities nearer the reception seemed more modern, cleaner and more spacious.

We used the swimming pool most days, mainly the indoor one, as the outdoor one was often shut due to the weather or the fact that we went to the pool after having a day out off the site. The pool was a good size for our children, but their fun was often spoilt by teenagers mucking about when the outdoor pool closed, and there didn't seem to be a limit to the numbers allowed. The changing facilities were basic, and there was a permanent lake of water surrounding the showers and changing rooms. It would also have been good if the pool opened earlier than 9am for lane swimming and 10am for general use.

There is a gym on site, but you have to pay an extra £4 to use it, or £15 for the week. Given the price we had already paid, I begrudged paying extra, especially as I can pay less and use a better gym at my local leisure centre. This was also not open earlier than 9am. We did not make use of the entertainment facilities, and the kids' daytime activities were mostly for 6-year-olds and older, so our kids were too young.

The site is situated a short walk away from Hunstanton town and beach. It is within easy reach of much nicer beaches along the North Norfolk coast, and there are lots of things to do in the area. The shop and takeaway facilities on site are good, although we didn't make much use of them.

All in all, the site is fine, if you want to stay on the site all week and make the most of the facilities, but in my opinion, you go on holiday to see somewhere different. There are also extra costs, such as go kart or bike hire, crazy golf, gym etc. We were not able to take advantage of the kids' activities as ours were too young.

This was our first time to searles, on arival the reception people were really nice and friendly. Got to our pitch and well happy we had a mains service pitch hedges either side and a bank at the rear. The site is large but is kept very tidy by the warden and staff. Toilets/showers were clean every time we went. Good shop on site, not badly priced but there is a tesco a minute away by car and a sainsbury in town. Excellent fish and chip shop on site, no more expensive than our local at home. Three bars in the main centre (the piazza) - this was my only gripe the cost of a pint, john smiths £3. 30. The entertainment team were excellent and worked their butts off keeping the younger little peeps occupied. You do have to watch out for the little peeps running around and on bikes and would defo say keep to the speed limit, I nearly had a heart stopping moment as a little one ran out from behind a caravan.

2 mins walk to the beach which was excellent, the dog loved it, all that sand to run around. Shows 5 min walk from from entrance, Coasthopper bus stops at entrance. Didn't use the country club so cant comment. Swimming pools were fine and not dirty like posted before.

All in all I have to give this site a big thumbs up 10/10 in fact this the first time the daughter has asked to come back to a site so think we will be back in October

Living in norfolk I had always wanted to go to searles so we went for 5 nights at the start of August.

We didn't get off to a good start when we were given our pitch number yet despite driving around a number of times (not easy on packed single width roads)couldn't find it. In the end we determined our pitch was that showing as a different pitch number and we pitched up there. When reporting it to the touring wardens they were aware the map and sign showed different numbers, but had done nothing to resolve it.

The site itself is a great location beside the beach and a short walk along the prom into town. Tesco is very close. Location is superb.

Facilities - we didn't use it but the pools looked great. We didn't use the games room or pool tables as they are in a glassed conservatory area which was too stifling hot to spend any time in. The entertainment in the evenings varied from brilliant to cringeworthy. The food in the restaurant was average. The bar staff were friendly, smiley and very helpful.

The shop was well stocked but the girl working in there needs customer service training!

The toilet and shower blocks were not the most modern or cleanest I have seen. There was grime round the button on the hand drier, dust on the pipes, cobwebs on the ceiling and the shower floors looked grimey but hard to tell as lighting is poor.

Maybe my standards are too high, but when a resort is 5* I expect better and have to say searles does not come close to another norfolk 5* resort we have visited this year.

Most disappointing was that I contacted searles after our holiday and have left it 5 months, they have not responded to my letter.

The site was really nice with easy access of local supermarket we had a super large all singing and dancing pitch - but it seemed so small! and were really packed in tightly,

I thought caravanners and campers were supposed to be friendly but for us it was not like that at all - we always talk to our neighbours and make chit chat with them - but not here - perhaps we were unlucky. The water tap leaked and they fixed that really quickly so well done, the toilets and showers were cleaned regularly, the pool was great

The fish and chips from the on site takeaway were tasty

We were disappointed with this site for many reasons and with what we had paid expected more. We won't return, and wouldn't recommend to friends.

Pitches are closely packed in giving the site an overcrowded feel. Lack of pavements and the generally busy site mean that pedestrians have to be wary and dodge cars, go karts and caravans constantly - so not ideal for giving kids independence.

The camping areas seem to be the unloved poor relations in terms of facilities when compared with the rows and rows of statics on this very large site.

The flower tubs were filled with weeds and fag ends, there was only one tap on our field, and everything was a good distance from the tent areas - especially the pools, play areas, loos and shop.

The poorly ventilated (ie hot and smelly) toilet blocks are very dated with the broken off loo seats or many hanging by one hinge, broken locks, taps that didn't work, nonadjustable showers that only worked if you constantly pressed the button so you had to shower one handed, broken hair dryers, and in general they never seemed that clean. There are washbasins in the toilet cubicles, and lockable (mostly!) cubicles with hand basins which are both good features.

We booked this site because it had a waterslide - however this didn't run very often or not at all. When I asked the lifeguards when it would be running that day they had stock excuses as to why it wouldn't be and didn't like to give a straight answer so you could plan your day. Favourite was 'We don't have enough staff' (on two occasions this took three lifeguards who had been sitting around chatting to tell me, and this is not my problem), or 'it has just run' (as I'd been sitting there waiting I knew this wasn't true). Is running the slide an inconvenience for them?

Lots of little extras on site - so could get pricey if you are not careful (go kart hire, crazy gold, lockers, amusements etc).

For a dog friendly site it was a shame there was nowhere you could eat with a dog. Plenty of dog bins though and some dog hooks, and the beach alongside the site is dog friendly and great when the tide is out)

Shop was useful, kids enjoyed the amusement arcade and the playarea (and the waterslide for the few occasions we caught it!), and the location is good (though bit of a scramble to the beach via the shortest route). Its a pleasant walk into Hunstanton - 10 mins or so.

Wash Monster boat trip was good.

Would recommend the Chinese buffet/fill a box for £4. 90 takeaway in Hunstanton.

Overall not really the quality we expected, and not good value for money, OK if you like very busy sites, want entertainment and don't mind feeling a bit crowded in.

Well they certainly like to pack you in on this campsite!

It is a huge site, and every available space is used.

We were asked the size of our unit when we booked, and paid for a pitch that was of a size to accommodate it (you pay varying prices based on pitch size). Though this did not seem consistently applied across the site. When we arrived we were given a map to guide us to our pitch, which also showed us which other pitches were the same size as ours (they are colour coded).

The 2 pitches opposite us were the same colour code, yet were twice the size!

Luckily we knew our neighbours (my parents), as their guide ropes were all pegged in on our pitch! their tent and our caravan were practically touching, not sure fire regulations were being adhered to there!

As it was such a large site, it was extremely busy, and could be quite loud at night.

The toilet facilities were in great need of modernisation, I would say they were well over 20 years old, and given that this was not a cheap site, I expected better.

You are given leisure passes when you arrive, to get in to the facilities, but note this does not include the soft play area, which has an additional charge!

The outdoor pool facility is good, though the changing area is poor, and does not accommodate families. Luckily we had the weather for the outdoor pool, as the indoor one was quite small for a site of this size, and would fill quickly.

We ate one night in Smokey Joes on site, waited an hour for mediocre cold food, when we complained we were told there was nothing they could do (not even apologies apparently!), needless to say we didn't eat on site again.

The on site playground seemed to have been taken over by teenagers, so my 2 children didn't feel safe in there.

The surrounding area was beautiful, I can recommend a visit to Sandringham, and Cromer has a lovely beach. The trip out to Seal Island on a boat was excellent, though little ones my get bored (my youngest fell asleep and missed the seals!)

I will definitely visit Norfolk again, though I will be avoiding Searles.

Just returned from a long weekend visit to Searles and being a Bank Holiday weekend was expecting bad weather and we certainly had that! Gales and horrendous down pours which did spoil the weekend however as a seasoned camper (stayed near Boscastle when the village was flooded) we always make the best of what the site has to offer.

Searles was recommended to us so here goes. Positive points are the pool area, indoor and out, well stocked shop, great chippy on site, bike and go kart hire, play areas, ducks and ducklings everywhere, friendly staff, choice of bars, location and large supermarket opposite. Toilet block near the tourers reception very nice and clean.

Negative points are the overcrowding of pitch areas and the constant dodging of parked and moving vehicles. The pitches are heavily used so the grass on most pitches was poorly maintained or simply not there allowing the heavy rain to sit on the surface and play havoc with your tent pegs!

The lack of grass also made the site a pot holed, mud filled swamp which made moving around your pitch a real chore. The toilet block next to the Stables camping field is a disgrace. I can say no more as it makes me cringe. The under canvas part of the site is clearly unloved.

The ehu areas are separated by tall untidy hedges and makes you feel hemmed in. The pitches run parallel to the roads and cars parked all the way along making it very unsafe for the kids to run around and enjoy the independence camping normally allows.

This is a park to enjoy as a Holiday Camp not the simple joys of the great outdoors. We will never return.

Just returned after a 2 week stay at Searles.

This is the 3rd year we have been. We don't usually go to the same place for summer but cant find anywhere that offers the same entertainment and fun.

We had a mains serviced pitch that backed onto the sports field.

The site is kept tidy by the warden and a gang of gardeners.

The shower blocks are cleaned every hour.

The fishing is surprisingly good from such small ponds.

There are 3 bars 2 in the main entertainment centre and a country club. All the bar staff are cheerful and friendly as are the reception staff.

The entertainment team are brilliant with adults as well as the children, always smiling and very friendly. The entertainment varies from fun and games to professional performances in the evenings.

Booked next years holiday before we left. Cant wait.
