This weekend will remain in peoples' memory for years, late October, pub meal outside and the weather was incredible, the site beautiful, location, location, location. The owners couldn't be more charming, working farmers sharing what they've got with others, if they disappeared I'd be gutted. The rustic loos are OK its all part of the charm, you can have your en-suite the rest of the year, I've seen a lot worse, hot water for washing up. Remembering Coopers has kept me going all winter and I can't wait to go back. Would live there in a tent if I could. Thank you Mr and Mrs Cooper

We have just returned from a few nights stay at coopers and we have returned very disappointed
The toilet block was basic and filthy. The showers were also filthy. There was rarely toilet roll and never handwash or paper towels.
The facilities are questionable, laundry services means a separate sink in the toilets with no drying facilities. I think in this day in age laundry facilities have moved on and at £25 per night for two adults and three children with electric, it didn't offer good value in my opinion
It's a real shame as the surroundings are breath taking.
Overpriced seems to be the theme of the village facilities as both pubs offer food but nothing memorable or good value and the on site cafe was much the same.
Mr cooper himself was very helpful and monitors the campsite continually I wouldn't stay here again.

Stayed at Coopers for the third time this summer and not enjoyed it as much as previous trips. The village of edale is stunning with great walks and spectacular scenery, however the campsite isn't the best we've been to.
We paid £5 per person, per night and a £5 deposit for noise. The price is fairly good and we were really impressed with this on our arrival. We pitched our tents in an appropriate field and were happy with our pitch.
The showers and toilet facilities are very average. There is no soap or hand drying facilities which isn't really good in terms of health and hygiene and the toilets aren't always stocked with toilet roll. There is a 20p charge in the showers which gave us about 15 minutes of hot water. This was great but there was minimal space to leave clothes and get changed.
There is a little shop on the site which is the only place in the village to get daily supplies. The shop sells a good range of news, confectionary and outdoor equipment, but prices are very high. The staff however were pretty helpful.
The campsite in general is okay if you like to be left to your own accord. Some parts can get noisy but children do need to be able to enjoy their holiday as well as the adults. We do not feel that this campsite is appropriate for families. During our stay we were often told to keep down the noise although the noise curfew is 10pm. Another family camping close to us were also told off for playing with a frissbee on site. This isn't what you want whilst on holiday.
This year we have felt as though we could not relax and enjoy our holiday. We were constantly walking on egg shells and needing to look over our shoulders every 2 minutes for campsite staff. The owners have a reputation for keeping themselves to themselves which is understandable considering they have a farm to run.
However we did feel as though we were in the big brother house. Whenever we wanted to relax, we were being pestered by staff about petty things such as barbeque smoke and our dog digging holes. This annoyed us and it really put us off using this campsite again which is a real shame because we love the village of Edale and it's beautiful surroundings.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights Monday 25th - Thurs 28th July 2011.
The owners were friendly and the office to pay is just in the house on the right as you drive in. Be aware you do have to pay £5 deposit with your pitching fee.
We were told we could pitch in any of the fields, which we liked. The campsite wasn't too busy and wasn't full of screaming kids either, which we liked.
Although there were a few flies, which were annoying!
The sun shone for the whole 4 days, which made the views even more spectatcular.
The toilets and showers are rustic, so not 5 star, but they did what they needed, and the 20p for the shower gives you at least 5 mins of hot water. The toilets were always stocked with toilet paper too, but my boyfriend did say the male toilets weren't.
There is a small shop, and cafe on site, which are always useful, although we did find the cafe a tad expensive - nearly £4. 00 for a cheese salad roll. There is also a pub across the road, which did seem quite busy, but we did get our drink quite quickly and sat and relaxed in beer garden.
It is a very peaceful village, with some gorgeous walks and scenery all around.
We would go back here again!

Easy to find opposite the Nags Head pub at the top of the village. Shop/Post Office & cafe at entrance too.
Paid £6 a head so £24 for 2 nights. Friendly lady booked us in once I'd found her. You just ring the doorbell of the house as you turn into the site, no formal reception. Think there might be extra charges for awning/dog as I was asked if had either of these. Was directed to the lower field, think there are 4 fields in all. No set pitches, was just advised to camp on the up-slope side in case it rains.
Shower/toilet block wasn't the cleanest I've ever seen, lots of black mould on grouting in shower & the seal on the concrete floor is breaking down so lots of dust. No toilet paper seen at any time. Showers were 20p for about 5 minutes - just about right as I wouldn't want to stay for too long. Sinks were filthy & looked like they hadn't been wiped down for days/weeks.
The only bit that was clean was the pot wash & that was only because people washing up would wipe them down afterwards. I suspect the bathroom sinks were so dirty because, like me, people choose not to use them in their current state.
No playground or anything specific for children. Is a swing or slide too much to ask?
Would I return? Yes but only for a couple of nights at the most and only because of the fantastic location. I know £6 a head in high season is good value but it wouldn't break the bank to keep basic hygiene standards in the shower/toilet block.

Brilliant site for all your walking needs straight from your tent, which means your car gets a holiday as well as you.
Facilities are a good basic but girls you can dry and straighten your hair, ready for the pub less than a minute away, excellent food and Beer.

Me and my partner camped on this site in our tent it is a great site basic amenities but ok. Showers are 20p coin for about 5 mins. The site is a bit on a slope but ok for two nights. Been a couple of times before and would go back again. Great family pub the nags head, food and drink nice, but a bit pricey . Great scenery and some great walks. As we are walkers and don't drive it is excellent for us as we use the train and is only a 10 minute walk from train station . It was £5 per person per night on the campsite which isnt bad

My wife and I camped at Coopers Camp And Caravan Site and had a amazing time. The toilet and shower block was adequate. This area is known for hikers so expect a little bit of wet and if raining a little mud on the entrance to the toilet and shower block but it is not as bad as some reviews say. There is plenty of room at this site for children to play in the fields and even if its raining the fields don't mud up and get boggy. There is a little shop on site that sells all the basics and a pub right on its doorstep that sells good beer and amazing food. The views from the site and the surrounding areas are amazing too a fantastic place we recommend this site to all ages

We visited over the bank holiday and typical it rained but mr & mrs cooper were brilliant Mr cooper put us right next door to the shower block (due to medical conditions) and helped us get the van level and protect the grass. Yeah the facilities are basic but hey your on a farm not the ritz lovely food and drink at the nags head tks guys lovely little cafe on site smashing cuppa and breakfast and gluten free products if anyone needs them tks guys
Amazing views, shop limited opening so take your own great for the little things, newspapers etc., and the buses were not running and trains only every two hours but great walking short and long had a brilliant time and the sun came out this was our trial run with our 20 year old motorhome and it was great. First time on this site but would love to go back so much to see The site was fairly quiet for the first few days but quickly filled up so a popular spot and not surprising when you look round at those views.
The moorland centre was packed full on information bought a great little book for walking and the staff extremely helpful
Thank you Mr & Mrs cooper for all your help appreciated it.

We had a pretty rough sleep on sloping ground at Coopers. It was a bank holiday when we visited and the campsite was crowded. There were lots of noisy groups of people despite the £5 noise deposit we had to provide to Mr Cooper!
The toilets were extremely basic, no toilet roll for the majority of the time. The showers were only available from 3pm until 10pm and cost 20p for a couple of minutes.
It was noisy in the night, not only from the campers but also from Mr Cooper patrolling the campsite on his quad bike!
The location is excellent with a lovely pub directly opposite which served excellent food. There was also another pub just a little way down the road. Good place to stay in reach of Castleton and the caverns. Edale is a lovely village but the amount of tourists spoiled the peacefulness.
