We are just back from a four nighter staying at Dalraddy. We pitched on the EHU tent pitches. The pitch was a little uneven and rocky but this did not affect us. The pitches are huge with plenty extra space around us once the tent was up. As people have previously commented, the shower block is a few minutes away but this was not a problem. There are four portaloos next to the EHU pitches.
The weather was a mixed bag. It was warm and sunny one night but our pitch had trees at the back of the tent so could not enjoy the evening sun. Again, no great hardship. The views more than make up for that. We seemed to be quite lucky with midges too. Not a lot going about during our visit which is a bonus.
The kids play park was a hit with our two boys. It is out of sight from the EHU tent pitches though. The on site shop seemed to stock lots of bits and bobs but we did not use it.
We look forward to returning to this lovely site. There is so much to see and do in the area.

Stayed here for two nights while touring the highlands
First of all I'll get the negatives out the way.
The site is set amongst a lot of trees so if it is sunny you cant see it, (tv reception dodgy) but this is a personal preference, and the showers were set too hot for me, aart from this they were spotless and very well kept
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Thank you, spot on
The grounds themselves were well kept with a nice children's park
Campsite up the bank was very spacious and well looked after, lovely
One mile down the road to the right (easily walked) was a hotel called the rowan tree inn, do try this place as the staff are spot on and cant do enough for you.
All in all a nice experience

Just back from a very busy holiday weekend at Dalraddy. This was our first time at this site and after reading very mixed reviews wasn't sure what to expect.
On arrival we were shown to our tent pitch, which was a large fenced ehu pitch with your own water tap, which was very handy. There were 6 ehu pitches all in a row. Opposite the ehu area is a large open field for tents with 4 portable loos and bin area. Then the rest of the tent area is lots of little individual pitches surrounded by pine trees, the whole tent area is lovely with fantastic views.
The toilets were always clean, good for a busy weekend. There are 4 showers in the ladies, think the mens were the same?. Water was hot and the showers are cubicles with changing area and a little bench so clothes all stay dry. Also 2 hairdryers in the ladies.
Dish wash area is enclosed with 3 large sink areas, always clean when we used it. Only fault is the amenities block is a few minutes walk from the tent area, but in my opinion well worth the walk as the static/tourer area is not as nice as the tent area(no views)
Park for the kids is enclosed, with plenty for them to play on, again it is a few minutes walk from the tent area, but there is a path that cuts through the open tent area so you don't have to go down the road which can be busy.
The shop is in the main reception area, it sells a wide variety of stock from the basics like milk to tent pegs, cups, plates ect.
My only complaint is the speed the cars were going when driving around the site, which I think is down to there being chalets at the top of the estate.
We enjoyed the area so much that we are going again at the end of the month.
We paid £25 per night for a large pitch with ehu (price is per pitch). The non ehu pitches are £10for a small tent and £17 for 4man tent, which I think is quite good value for having your own little private pitch.

This was the 3rd time we had visited this campsite, we love it, the staff are lovely and very helpful and friendly. The views of the Cairngorms are beautiful.
The toilet and shower blocks are very clean along with the scullery. It has a great playpark for the kids. We had a huge pitch with EHU and our own water supply, with fences between the EHU pitches.
There are loads of nooks and crannys to pitch your tent in if you are not bothered about EHU, all quite private. There is a small shop on site which sells meat from its own estate, (great for the BBQ) along with other essentials.
Aviemore is only a 10 minute drive away with the 'Mountain Cafe' a must for the best breakfast you have ever had! We will always return here.

Just returned from week-end at this site. Although it rained most of the time we still enjoyed our stay here. The camping site is raised and apart from the static caravans and chalets and subsequently no caravan can be seen from the tent.
There is an open area for pitching but also many individual pitches surrounded on three sides by 6-8ft Pine trees and fine views of the Cairngorms.
A shop and play area near the entrance and a very clean toilet/shower block makes up the facilities on site.
Quad bike tours are advertised.
Only two small gripes, wee bit of a walk to toilet block (nothing life threatening) and there could be more signs to help-bit of an expedition to find the
Stand pipe. Not sure about the awjaws (midges) in the summer though with the trees.
We will be back.

Another place we stopped on our charity bike ride from John O'Groats to Lands End. They gave us a great deal, and the staff in the office very warming and helpful.
A lot cheaper than the main town itself, by a long way, a lot nicer surroundings too.
Shower block 5 star.
All the families there were enjoying themselves, plenty of space for kids to play games etc.
The road lading to the park, has some spectacular vies, especially the lake ( Loch? ).
Would highly recommend this park to anyone looking to stay in the area. A*

I have to agree with other reviews that the tent part of this campsite seems to be the nicest part of the park. There is a large open field and then some secluded pitches in the trees. The shower/toilet blocks are nice and kept clean.
The toilet blocks are pretty far away from the tent area and the portaloos certainly do come in handy. I would have expected to see some soap in the toilets however but they remained empty for our time spent here.
The site was fairly empty and the only reason I can see for this was the price of the pitches. We paid £25 per night for a medium sized tent for 2 people.
I can't understand the pricing system because it appears to be cheaper to bring a caravan with an awning. The reason for the price was because we required electric and there are only six spaces with hook ups. We were placed in our own fenced off area which was nice but pretty stony and bumpy.
The other problem with this area is that you get the sun first thing in the morning and no evening sun because the trees behind you pitch. At a premium price I would have hoped the pitches may have been better positioned and thought out.
Although a nice site I don't think it was worth the premium rate.
Please also beware that it is very difficult to get a phone signal here.
The Rowan Tree down the road does a lovely meal and has a nice little bar.

Just spent the weekend at Dalraddy and we thought it was fantastic!
We had a large fenced off pitch ( our tent is 9m x 6m )with our own electric hook up and water supply. The tent area is definitely the nicest part of the park. Very peaceful.
A bit of a walk to the toilets and showers but we didn't mind as they were so clean! Shower cubicles clean and roomy and plenty hot water.
The surrounding scenery is gorgeous and Dalraddy is an excellent base for exploring the area. Short drive to Aviemore and about 6 miles from Loch Insh Watersports centre which is a great place with loads to do.
Great campsite. We were sorry to leave and will definitely be back. Great time of year to go as not busy and no midges!

We had toured the whole of Scotland from the East and Skye, up over to Durness and had come down the west side and been to 10 campsites before we came to this one.
We had discussed the good idea some campsite owner may have of clearing small areas in the woods to make tent pitches that were surrounded by trees, and were thrilled to see just that at Dalraddy.
The tent area is a bit away from the facilities, and the water faucet wasn't easy to find, but no matter because up above the shower and facility area was a lovely area set aside for tents with secluded pitches set among young pine trees.
Fantastic view of the Cairngorms, beautiful scenary, and as close to wild camping as you can get while also having facilities like showers to use.
This campsite had the best showers of any, lovely little booths to change in, and free hairdryers (hooray!).
The lady we saw was very friendly and helpful, we had arrived late and she stayed there til we arrived, having phoned ahead.
It was very cheap indeed for the area, only £8 for both of us and no charge for our dog. Free showers too.
I would definitely recommend this site to anyone, really very good indeed.
Go there into the tent areas above when other campers are there to feel safe if you are two females like us camping later in the year when there are fewer campers, - we felt very much better knowing a couple of others were in a nearby pitch. Those Cairngorms really are wild and with tales of the Grey Man of Ben Macdui it's nice to feel folk are near! Fantastic place though!

We have just returned from a very wet week at this site. We had a large private pitch with electric. Tent field is quite far from the toilet block but there are port-a-loos on the field - these were clean and well looked after until a rowdy group arrived. The main problem with the port-a-loos was the doors banged shut unless you were vigilant about closing them gently, so we could hear everytime they were used through the night. There were too few showers in the toilet block and these were either far too hot or freezing depending on what time we used them. Not at all practical for showering young children. Play park was fantastic.
