Really nice well kept site. Easy access to the beach through private gate, loads of great coastal walks.
Facilities really good, although being aware that there are a number of shower blocks around the site will prevent you queuing.
The playground and play room were a big hit with the children, keeping them occupied for hours.
Had dinner at the restaurant which was enjoyable (not the cheapest, but fair for the quality.
The tent pitches were in individual fields which were sheltered and quiet.
Overall thoroughly recommend this site for family groups.

Having just returned from Tyddan Isaf today 10/06/2011, we have the holiday blues. We stayed for 4 nights our first time at this camp and it was excellent!
When we first arrived at Tyddan at the barriers we was told to come through via the intercom and make our way to the Reception at the bar that is called Hen Ysgubor, that means old ghost in English, so straight away I took the time to inform my daughter age 10 who is welsh speaking that the site was haunted and only safe if you go to sleep before 10pm, it didn't work!
Our party was me the wife, daughter age 10 and black Labrador, we stayed for 4 nights in a tent with electric hook-up
Arthur showed us to the bottom field and we picked a pitch that was at the top that had fantastic views, some of the best I have ever seen it really was breathtaking, unfortunately it did not have a electric hook-up but Arthur kindly ran an extension from the power point for us
There are several toilet / shower blocks around the camp site, they are immaculate, same condition you would find at a decent hotel.
The showers and electronic gates are controlled with a electronic 'Fob' you receive when you book in at reception a £10 deposit is required for this, the showers are nice and hot and last for several minutes and when the go off you just simply touch the sensor with your Fob and enjoy the shower for as long as you want.
The Cafe and bar area are located at the top of the park that has fantastic views of Ligwy Beach and the whole park, have stayed at many parks in north Wales and these views are some of the best I have seen, bar prices and the excellent food to eat in or take away are very good, ok a pint of beer is an extra 20p a pint more than you pay in your local but the tranquillity drinking a pint on the terrace view in the evening is well worth that little bit extra.
It did rain one night so we decided to go to The Bull in Pentraeth, this is across the road from Rhos Caravan park on the main road, food was excellent and reasonable value as well will certainly be visiting The Bull again.
I took the wife and daughter fishing of the rocks from Ligwy beach and we caught over 30 Mackerel.
To summarise our stay at Tyffan Isaf, a very enjoyable stay and will be staying again in July the conservation of this camp is excellent hence the David Bellamy award for the last five years,
The park for the kids is safe and immaculate, washing and shower facilities very good, views are priceless,
The only downside is the price, it is a little bit extra and the prices on booking are based on x2 adults and x1 child under the age of 5yrs, so it is a little extra but well worth it

We've only just returned from a great stay in Anglesey and as first time campers thought we'd share our thoughts on the whole experience.
Tyddyn Isaf was very impressive overall, within easy reach of the beach and a coastal walk to Moelfri, which has a nice pebble bay and a couple of good pubs on the water front.
The beach is good for kiting, swimming, jetskis and even a banana boat was in operation for the bank holiday. Very child friendly, loads of families everywhere.
Both the staff and the guests of the campsite were lovely, very friendly. We were really impressed with the vibe of the place - people randomly talk to you, the kids seemed really polite and it has a nice community feel. No noise at night apart from the sea.
The award winning toilets (won in 1995) were very pleasant. My only criticism would be that the showers were fixed temperature and really too hot for my liking. The only criticism I have of the whole place. Oh, and the pitches for the tents are on a slope (ours at the steepest point) but we just turned our beds to face down the slope. Not ideal but not the end of the world either.
Arthur's home made pizzas are highly recommended from the restaurant, just the right size, leaving room for the fantastic chocolate fudge cake. We also enjoyed the Fursty Ferret's from the bar.
Overall a great stay and we plan to return.

This was our first visit to this site and we will definitely be back again for more 2 or 3 night stays (as it would work out fairly expensive to stay longer!).
We pitched in the second tent field, which is on a slope but we did not find it to cause us any problems. Our 2 boys (aged 4 and 2) had plenty of space to play in the field and due to the location of the hedges etc it is fairly well enclosed. The children's play area is FANTASTIC - set far enough away from the tent fields as not to bother others with noise, but accessible in a couple of minutes. The boys loved the 2 slides and running up and down the slopes.
The wash rooms and washing up areas are immaculate. Cleaned frequently and with it being out of peak season we did not need to wait for anything. The toilets did run out of toilet paper, so don't forget to take a spare roll! The showers were clean and lovely and warm.
They are operated via your tag 'beeper' that lets you in and out of the site barriers. The shower seemed to last around 4 minutes ish and then turn off. Adequate time for myself and my husband, but not great when I was trying to get myself and the 2 boys sorted. There is a delay of 4 minutes or so before the beeper will let you switch the shower on again (when sorting out the kids we borrowed our friends so could activate 2 showers back to back!).
The site is in a great location. The nearby beach is stunning and accessed via a short walk or 3 minute drive to the adjacent car park (£2.50 charge if booth staffed - but no-one there when we went on Saturday). Its also a short drive to the local costcutter mini market, which we were pleasantly surprised to see stocked a huge variety of items and not at ridiculous prices. They even sold hot pasties, panini's etc. There is also a chippy and indian take out by the costcutter but we weren't there long enough to try those out.
The site's on site bar has amazing beach views and on a sunny evening is ideal. The staff were friendly, but most of the beers were off when were there leaving just 1 larger. They do sell bottled real ales too. The outside children's play area by the terrace needs a bit of attention (consisted of a sea saw and a duck that did not move) as it looked like a lot of things had been taken away. Not a massive issue, but would be nice if it was sorted in the future.
All in all, a lovely well kept site if you are looking for good location with plenty of facilities. Great for the kids, albeit a bit on the expensive side.

Just returned from yet another lovely stay at Tyddyn Isaf this is the first site we ever visited camping and we have been back a couple of times since and highly recommend it to others. It is safe and secure with a barrier key fob system and is a few minutes walk to Lligwy Bay with stunning views.
The site was immaculately clean and tidy and we stayed on the larger tent field with new addition of the much needed toilet (2 toilets, 1 shower & 2 dishwashing sinks) block although due to it being bank holiday it was very busy and could do with being double the size.
The only criticism is that it is very pricey it was £36.50 per night for a family of 5 with ehu. The pitches are based on 2 adults and children over 5 are additional amounts I am sure last year the pitch was based on 2 adults and 2 children. Saying that I would visit again but only when it is the low season, as camping after all is supposed to be the cheaper option for a break.

We loved our short stay at Tyddyn Isaf.
The staff were really friendly, there were some Polish staff but all spoke English and went out of there way to be helpful.
The site is a secure one using key fobs to access the main gate, the showers and the beach gate.
The beach gate leads directly onto Lligwy beach.
The facilities on this site are second to none from the award winning toilets to the club house where you can eat an evening meal have a pint or even get a cooked breakfast.
There is a children's play area with a slide and swings.
The pitches were not all level but at this visit we were camping and a gentle slope was not an issue, we intend to use this site again with our caravan and awning.

What can I say about this site? It's perfect for a family break away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. The owners are so welcoming and the site overlooks Lligwy beach - beautiful views. Yes the field slopes but that's made perfectly clear on the website! Toilets and showers were regularly cleaned at least 4 times a day. The little shop on site was useful and the staff so patient, helping our 6 year old with his change. The owners of the site went out of their way to check the site and that people were happy, driving around each field and chatting with everyone. Rubbish was collected regularly and was never allowed to build up.
The children's play area was superb and our little boy revelled in the freedom of going out to play safely and making new friends. It was great having the bar on site and the meals were tasty and freshly cooked. Upstairs is a kids' paradise with a pool table and tv and comfy chairs and settees for the kids to hang out; we were highly amused by our lad and his new friend (also aged 6) informing us that they were off to the pub! (They weren't, in reality they went to the play area!)
Our field was generally quiet by 10:30 each night. This is a superb site, well run with friendly owners who go out of their way to ensure that holidaymakers enjoy themselves. We'll be back next year!

Just returned from a week at site with hubby, seven year old and four year old. We were warmly welcomed and given a choice of pitch locations. We selected a pitch at the bottom of the green field as it was the best pitch to keep an eye on the children at the play area.
Pro's: Great views over to Dulas bay; friendly and visible staff; clean and neat site; clean and well kept facilities; large play area.
Cons: Sloping (had to drag the kids back up the bed every night); main utility block located amongst the statics (downhill); ball games allowed on camping field (all balls rolled down hill into our tent).

Just returned from a 4 night break at this beautiful campsite overlooking the beach.
Our family break consisted of 6 adults and 3 children aged 2 1/2, 4 and 8. We were all pitched together (3 tents in total)with EHU.
The site itself is quite sloping so for the oldies who were with us the hill was a bit of a struggle.
The kids loved the playground which is widespread.
The toilets and showers were clean with plenty of hot water. A bath might have been more helpful for us as our little one is bit frightened in the shower but not a problem
Nice private walk down to the beach, for the less adventurous its accessible by car down the road too
Staff smiling and friendly and the food in the bar was great
A little noisy occasionally at night with some over excited children who struggled to settle before 11 but calmed when asked to do so.
Would recommend as the views are fabulous - check out their webcam!

What a great campsite. Beautifully kept, spotless facilities and very friendly staff who really make you feel welcome. Lots of space for children to play by the tent or on the grassed playground. Great views over Lligwy Bay. The food in the restaurant was fantastic, we usually have one meal away from the tent, but here we had two meals in 3 nights! All you could want from a campsite.
