We found this site excellent, facilities very good, friendly staff, lovely location with amazing views and lovely walks.
Good walks for your dogs too.
Pitches very spacious.
Lovely walks to Cromer either by road, clifftop or sea front, lots of places to see and things to visit.
Added bonus was the lovely fish and chip van which visited on site, freshly cooked and worth the wait.
Daily papers sold around the site in the morning.
Shop selling the essentials.
Will be visiting again.

We arrived at West Runton and the site was chocka block! A very popular site! Be warned that some of the pitches are very sloped, so chocks away!
The showers were great! Especially the double size showers.
The walk to West Runton beach is lovely but quite long for a 3 year old and beach stuff. The car park at the beach is £2. Not bad for a day. Te beach itself is lovely, something for everyone, soft sand, rock pools etc.
There are plenty of other walks around the site which we didn't have time to explore this time. A good excuse as any to go back, maybe in a less busy period!

We stayed on this site on probably the busiest week of the year. Cromer carnival week. We had a lovely week and would highly recommend the site.
The facilities are good for the size of the site, plenty of toilets and showers, the showers were hot and clean but, really annoyingly, are the push button sort.
The pitches are quite un-level in places but the wardens are happy to provide ample bricks etc to help out. The pitches are large and well spaced which is good considering the number of huge tents on site. There are lots of children and lots of bikes but that's to be expected on a family friendly site.
We found the wardens all to be helpful and friendly. There is a small children's playground and a ball play area. The approach road was fine, it is long, windy and narrow but as long as you don't meet a caravan coming up as you're going down you shouldn't have any problem.
There are dog walks out onto the heath from the site, two of them lead down to the beach, one takes about 45 minutes and is fairly level and easy to negotiate, the other is steep but much quicker, approx 20 minutes.
There is a fish n chip van that comes to site on saturdays and a paper round every morning.
All in all, a very good child friendly but busy site.

We stayed for a week in August with two children. The access to the site is down a woodland track which is very bumpy. Our VW is not lowered so we were OK, but you would struggle in a 'slammed' vehicle.
We normally stay on sites that are more camping than caravanning and this was the opposite. I would say more vans than tents. It's very spacious and very neat.
There are two toilet/shower/washing up blocks, both of which are very spacious. The main one has a laundry room too which even has an iron and ironing board. The toilet blocks are closed at different times of the day so if one is closed you just have to walk a bit further.
There is a good sized children's play area with a few pieces of play equipment, plus sandpit and plenty of open space. The shop has everything you might have forgotten.
Overall it is a very impressive site.
We visited the beach at West Runton a couple of times and once walked from there to Cromer - saving on the parking fees. It's £2 a day in West Runton and £5 in Cromer.
The indoor leisure pool at Sheringham is good for a rainy day. We enjoyed the steam train from Holt to Sheringham too. Plenty to do in the area.
The site was very peaceful and felt very safe. The only slight criticism I'd have is that the shower block was quite smelly, with open drains with grids over.
It was immaculate most of the time, though, so I guess it's just the design. I had to queue for the shower almost every time too, so maybe they could do with a few more. Ditto the washing-up sinks.

We visited this site for 10 nights, probably at one of the busiest times.
The site staff were friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. There was plenty of space between pitches and there were never any problems with noise. Many of the pitches are steeply sloped, we were pitched on the lower area of the site and this was relatively level and good for tents.
Some pitches we noted were under large trees and never saw the sun. These seemed to only be used when the site was really busy but worth noting and avoiding these.
The facilities were very well maintained and despite there being problems during our stay, resulting in the temporary forced closure of one of the blocks, we never experienced excessive waits for any of the facilities.
There are good short walks from the site to West Runton, East Runton and Cromer which provided nice evening strolls and the opportunity to avoid car parking. (Although we found parking to be reasonably priced wherever we visited in the area)
The road (track) to the site was not a problem with plenty of passing places and we never had any problems even when confronted by a convoy of caravans leaving.

If your sat nav is like mine you will have to ignore it when you get within a mile as it takes you round in big circle probably because the site is accessed by a narrow dirt track of about 800 metres through woodland - not great if you meet vehicles exiting.
Once there - great site. As usual with this club very friendly helpful staff.
Very pretty site with good walks to West Runton ( 1 good pub and couple of shops. Beach has rocky pools) and East Runton (2 ordinary pubs - no food and one shop but with great sandy beach).
Also site next to common where you can take dogs for quick walk to admire great views over the two villages and sea beyond - great on sunny evening. Facilities spot on - some of the best we have found.
Worth the scary drive in and would return

Arrived on this site as a last minute booking on a Sunday afternoon, no problems at all, staff were very friendly and showed us where we could pitch.
Although the site was really full it was still very quiet.
Shower blocks immaculate, showers are free, hairdryers are 20p but last for ages.
Plenty of walks straight from campsite, we also cycled mainly off road to Sheringham and Cromer both about 2-3 miles. Sheringham was lovely the train station was like stepping back in time with the steam engine that takes you to Holt with coastal views. Didn't try any eating places as we bbq'ed outside the tent weather was fantastic. Norfolk Broads about 40 miles away.
Would return to this site
Only a couple of small gripes, maybe could do with another hairdryer in shower block and charge to freeze ice packs is a bit steep at £1 per icepack, if you need 4 a day as we did could prove a bit expensive after 3 nights

What a smashing site. The access road is narrow with passing places, and we timed our arrival to avoid the rush! It is near to NT parkland and woodland, with lovely walks (most with stunning sea views) we and the dog all enjoyed.
The site had a mixture of grass and hardstanding pitches - we had a very sloping grass pitch (our jockey wheel was on 3 bricks!)but staff were superb and let us into a shed with an amazing assortment of bricks, pallets and chipboard to get ourselves as level as we could.
The staff were very helpful, chatty, cheerful and polite. The two loo blocks were very clean - push button showers but plenty of them and the water was always hot.
The playground was good with a sandpit and swings - some of the kiddywinks using it weren't very pleasant and site staff were aware of this and did what they could to intervene. Site reception has a very basic shop with all the things one tends to forget.
West Runton village has a good general store type shop, a camping shop, a good butcher and a really nice pub. The beach is great - easily accessible, nice and sandy and dogs are allowed. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and will definitely be back.

Second visit to this site and again not disappointed.
Lovely site with the best toilet/shower block I've seen in a long time, always immaculate and you can always get in a shower whatever time you go!
We spent a whole week here and there is plenty to do with walks to the beach straight from the campsite. Staff very friendly and helpful.
One gripe this time though was that we got a lovely pitch but on the second weekend they did tend to start packing them in around us and we began to feel a bit restricted and overlooked.
You don't expect this with the camping and caravan club and the 6metre rule between units I think was forgotten about.
Apart from this though an excellent site, highly recommended and we will visit again.

We stayed at this site for a weekend ( 2 adults & 2 children) at the end of July in our tent and had a lovely time.
The site is very pretty, the facilities are excellent and there are lovely walks on the doorstep. There is a good choice of beaches close by and on Saturday night a chip van comes on site and freshly cooks fish and chips etc.
The site is peaceful and has a relaxed atmosphere. There is a very small playground.
As others have said the lane into the site is steep and bumpy, it was fine pulling a trailer, however we personally would not bring our large twin axle caravan onto the site because of the difficult access.
My gripe:
Due to the size of our tent (6*7 metres) we do not fit on a standard size pitch at C&CC so booked a jumbo pitch – this is a standard grass pitch without hookup. It wasn’t until after I had paid my deposit that I realised that this was over £43 per night – and we are members! I thought the pitch would be really spacious given the cost, however although we got a choice of pitches (only one was suitable) we got the impression that they were just trying to fit us in somewhere.
Would we return? I really like the site however we wouldn’t bring the caravan here due to the difficult access and the cost for the jumbo tent pitch was too much, so unless we change tents we will be unlikely to return, which is a real shame.
