Stayed here for 3 nights to relax after an operation and certainly did! Site was immaculate and so peaceful with no kids, all amenities were spot on with lovely short local walks. Found the restaurant superb but too expensive, the wine particularly, but Sunday lunch was to die for!
The staff were all very pleasant and the site immaculately clean.
Will certainly return if only for the Sunday lunch!

This is a beautiful, well maintained site and a credit to the wardens who run it. The facilities are first class and spotlessly clean. The pitches are large although some are slightly sloping so chocks required. All are main service pitches.
The restaurant on site is superb and well worth treating yourself to. Whilst not cheap it is certainly value for money as the service and food are excellent.
It was lovely to be on an adults only site and enjoy some peace and quiet for a few days. The town of St Ives is only about 10 minutes away and is worth visiting. We fully intend to visit this site again as it is only an hour from home and ideal for a few days escape from the rat race!

Nice site,2 levels, we were pitched up the hill nearer the lake for the fishing. A quiet location. The lake looks as if it is hardly used, hence the fishing is frantic with one a bung !A long walk for the tenters to use the facilities pitched in a separate field imho
We didn't use the on site restaurant, but the local golf club which has great food at realistic prices. The pub is a little drive away & does good food. Overall a nice break, if a little pricey.

One of the best sites that we have stayed on with a good choice of pitches, some grass and some hard standing. The grass pitches tend to be on a bit of a slope, but you are free to choose your own pitch and how you pitch.
The restaurant on site is excellent and for an evening meal ( given the quality of food and service) we felt the price was fair. Although maybe the sunday dinner was a bit pricey for what it was.
There are good walks around the area of the site and it is very dog friendly.
The toilet block is clean and of a good standard with wet rooms with their own toilet and hand basin.
All in all a great site with friendly staff, though a bit pricey. But we will be going back.

Had a lovely break at Stroud Hill. Facilities were excellent and showers very clean.
Restaurant and bar were lovely although we did not eat in the Restaurant we thought the menu looked maybe a little expensive for a campsite. Nice if you fancy a treat! Tennis courts were a nice touch and staff all very friendly. We did not have a problem but some people might find the steep hill a problem up to the camping field.

Just returned from a 4 night stay at Stroud Hill. We are new to caravanning, this was only our fourth outing. Site as described, clean, quiet and pleasant surroundings.
The main surprise however was the quality of the on site restaurant. The food and service were excellent, together with a relaxed atmosphere this made our stay extra special. Restaurant was very popular with locals at the weekend, so recommend advance booking. You will not be disappointed.

What a lovely site. We stayed just for one night. Facilities are superb, didn't eat in the restaurant. The shop was well stocked. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The toilets are great and the site is set in a very peaceful area apart from cars going to and from the golf course nearby. Some lovely walks around the site and large fishing lake. Definitely one to come back to, yes it is a little more expensive but there are no children! This makes it worth its weight in gold! We didn't wake up until about 9 am, no noise at all. Even our dog slept in! A great deal of hard work must have been put in to make the site so nice. A fishing licence is on the cards for 2010.

Well what can I say, possibly the best site we have stayed on, albeit a bit pricey, but well worth it. Toilet blocks were immaculate and modern, cleaned everyday to a high standard. All pitches had water, electric and drainage. Some pitches were a little bit of a walk away from facilities but you got to choose your own pitch so it did not matter. There is a fishing lake on site which my husband and son used, if you cannot catch a fish in this lake then you are not using a rod, my son was just dipping his bait into the lake and pulling out 10lb carp, he thought it was brilliant! There is a restaurant and bar on site which are a little pricey but I can honestly say that I have never had such a nice meal, three courses for three people and drinks came to £102 but well worth it and we were on holiday so whatever! If we are in the area again we will definitely be visiting this site again, one warning if you are wanting to go for a meal in busy times then before you leave home ring and book, we stayed for 3 nights and could only get booked for 2 meals, one night time and 1 sunday lunch. Highly recommended and Adult only which was brilliant.

Visited this site in April following a recommendation from our Caravan dealer. The site is in a lovely quiet location with easy access. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful on arrival. All pitches have mains water and waste with electric connections. Our allocated pich was fairly large although access was somewhat difficult but would have been easier with a motor mover. Facilities are excellent with an extremely modern and clean toilet block. There is also a large fishing lake for anglers and a tennis court for the energetic. Lots of footpaths from the site so excellent for dog owners. The site also boasts a bar and a restaurant on site. We tried both and I can only say that the meal we had was probably the best I have ever eaten.
A top site with top facilities, highly recommended.

Nice facilities but a bit of a walk to them. Staff were helpful but the ranger is a little stern. Signage for dog walking is poor and we inadvertently strayed into a non walking area - only to be told off by a motorbike riding ranger with few manners! I agree with other reviewers that you do get what you pay for however the extra's do start to add up with extras for dogs, fishing and awnings etc. Would not visit again as we were broken into at home and needed to cut short our break and were refused a refund for one nights fee as it was not company policy.
