Stayed here for the first time for a trial across the bridge, the site was easy to find and had good access, we were greeted by the owners who were really friendly. They showed us round and to our pitch which had lovely views of the fields and woods, the site appeared really popular with loads of other outfits arriving all afternoon.
We went off to explore the pubs and surrounding area, one of the pubs in the village was fine and had good food and beer, the other pub overlooking the water was a bit tired to say the least and the beer wasn't up to much.
We went back to the park and sat outside in the sunshine till tea and then went to the chinese takeaway which was delicious!
The site is kept immaculate, no queues and the pitches are really spacious, all going well until the kennels started their 2 penneth with 'who let the dogs out. Woof, woof woof! it really got to me in the end, I'm really disappointed because without the dog noise I would have come back

Have just returned from a weekend stay at this campsite and I have to say this must be one of the cleanest sites around. The toilet facilities are of the highest order and kept immaculately clean.
There is a warden on site who is very welcoming and keen to make sure you are well set up on site. The owner Richard also did his utmost to make us feel welcome and valued and I have to say there is a good ambiance on site and everyone is friendly and welcoming.
There are the two pubs as mentioned in other reviews, we only went to the one opposite the site and while it may not be the most salubrious pub in the world it is very welcoming and welcomes dogs, which for us was great.
If you are looking for a site which is well run and has all the amenities for a weekend away; although no shop on site there are shops in the town for essentials; you cannot do better than this site.

Arrived at 6. 30pm & the barrier was closed. After 15mins the warden let us through the gate. We drove into the site which was looked nice, Caravans leading all the way down to the Reception. Richard the owner was there and more than welcoming, £15. 00 per night with out EHU.
The tent field is on the right hand site looking over the Fields & The Humber ! What a view, but you go to the top of the field to see this, (this field is on a slight slop ) We got to the top on a flat bit. Picnic Tables are placed around the site which are great if you are camping with friends.
There are 2 showers with plenty of hot water, 4 sinks and 3 toilets, all with toilet roll and soap provided for you. Communal washing has 2 sinks, Chemical waste and drinking water are at the end of the block, all of which are extremely clean.
Bins (which are re-cycling) are at the end of the block. Were only camping novices and we had run out of Gas and Richard got a gas bottle from the barn for us to use for the night/morning, nothing seems too much trouble for him.
We walked for 5 mins down to The Humber and found a nice Pub on the water front with picnic tables, they had bounce castles for the kids on during the day!
If you walk up the steep hill (in which you came down on) there is another pub on the corner and in the centre of the village there is a working mans club which has turns/singers on.
The village shop is fantastic everything you need and the lady is more than happy to help you.
All in All this is a very nice site with views to die for. Will be returning !

We have just returned from a 3 night break at Brookside Caravan Park. This site is immaculate, the shower blocks and toilets are spotless and the pitches and surrounding grass area is well kept and very clean.
There are 2 pubs in walking distance the Sheffield Arms is at the top of the hill and serves food which was lovely, and the River bank pub is 5 mins away and doesn't serve food but is a lovely friendly local.
Richard the owner is very friendly and very helpful and supplied us with local maps for walks around the area. Other people have mentioned the dog kennels close by which we did hear the barking but didn't bother us
We would definitely recommend this site to others but not people with children as the site is more of a tranquil peaceful spot for adults.

Thoroughly recommend this for cleanliness. Owner Richard is available and lives on site.Toilets very clean and done daily and heated.
Most pitches are adequate roomy with plenty of room for awnings and any extra car. Warden also permanently on site.
Public house almost opposite, with one with restaurant at top of the hill.
Facilities heated with piped music. We spent 12 days and immediately booked a further week before leaving.
Previous reports of kennels are hardly noticeable. Public transport available.
All in All very pleased. Rates are normally £17 extra for bank holidays.

This is a great site, lovely landscaping and peaceful - which is unexpected as you drive through a residential area. We were met by a lovely guy who explained everything and took me a tour of the site. He he also gave us directions for a walk to the next village, which we did - gorgeous walk and views over the tops to Alkborough with its lovely little tea shop where we had the mandatory stop for coffee and home made cake! They don't allow dogs inside though, which was a shame.
There are two local pubs within walking distance; The Sheffield Arms serves food and is dog friendly if eating in the bar area, although you do have to walk up the steep hill to get there, but if you are reasonably fit you shouldn't have a problem. The Ferry Boat is the nearest, has a lovely homely atmosphere and is very dog friendly but unfortunately doesn't serve food.
The only disappointment for me was the lack of warmth in the shower block. The site advertises as having heated facilities all year round and yes, the showers themselves were fab, powerful and warm and the block spotless - but it was cold! Not really want you want when it's -7 in January!

The site is immaculate. 36 hard standings with grass surround - wide pitches with privacy hedges. Toilet block is so clean you could eat your dinner off the floor. It is of a higher standard than the best C.C. SITE. A stately home and grounds 5 minutes away and if you are into wildlife, Far Ings, Messingham Sand Pits and the R.S.P.B. Blacktoft Sand reserves are all less than 30 minutes away. There is a large area of grass for tents and the view across it to woodland is very nice.
The owners are caravanners themselves and have continuously improved the site year on year so that it is now one of the best in Britain.
It is a five star caravan site - the only one in north Lincolnshire.

This campsite is the best I have been to.It is the cleanest well kept site in the north of england. Just 50 yards to the river with lots of beautiful walks close by, the pub the sheffield arms is a short stroll away, service is very good good cheap meals every day.
It is a quiet site and the people who run the site are very helpful and pleasant to talk to. We paid 17 pound a night which is good value, the toilet block is immaculate at any time of day.
My partner says she will recommend this site to anyone young or old. We will be going again this year there are so many places to explore.

Stayed at this site from 27th. December to 2nd January.
From the very friendly welcome we received on arrival from the owners we knew we were in for a good stay.
The pitches are spacious and hardstanding on pea gravel (lava rock I think) and well drained.
The ablutions block is comparable to any I have seen on any CC or CCC site, spotlessly clean, heated and carpeted, with flowers and piped music, brilliant.
There is also a pot wash and veg prep area, kept to the same standards.
There are plenty of good walks from the site and the owners provide maps of local walks as well as well stocked information on local attractions. I did a lovely walk along the tops, following the Trent till it joined the Ouse to form the Humber, seeing lots of interesting wildlife along the way, including a fox.
All in all, a lovely well kept site, previous reviewers mention noise from the kennels but I didn't notice this in the van, though they were quite noisy when I walked through the village. There appears to be a well kept fishery close by, but this was frozen over at the time.
We will certainly return in the summer with fishing tackle.
Only downside, only 10 amp hookup, but managed well by using gas heating and not much for kids, but great for chilling!

This site is the cleanest site we have stayed at,and is a role model for this type of facility. Easily accessible, barrier entry, friendly hands on owners with immaculate toilet and shower blocks.
Well spaced out pitches with electric hook ups. There is no play facility for children and the area of North Lincs has very few tourist attractions.
Site makes a good base if you planning days out in Lincoln, Nottingham, Hull, Grimsby etc. But requires travel. The village boasts two pubs with one doing excellent quality meals.
