My family 2 adults and 4 children and a friends family 2 adults and 2 kid and a dog stayed for 2 nights in our tents.
From the start you get a very friendly welcome from John the owner and his wife and children.
The Farm is excellent for the kids as they all helped feed the animals and petted them and the older boys played football on the pitch all day !
Nothing is too much trouble for John and his family they are so helpful.
The New shower blocks are excellent as are the Toilets which is always a bonus when camping with the kids !
This really is a must site to stay on for the family and I can highly recommend it.

We spent yet another enjoyable, Peaceful Christmas and New Year at West Middlewick Farm. Our Daughter and Family hired one of the farmers luxery Chaletes which are situated in their own grounds off the main camp field. They didn't see much of the children as they were out helping on the farm most of the time, milking the cows feeding chickens egg collecting and what pleased them most - Lambing. They enjoyed it so much they have booked 2weeks for August. We will be visiting through out the year, it's a peaceful - welcoming retreat in this busy world.

Just got back from a fantastic Bank Holiday weekend at this site. It's a working farm with 2 fields set aside for campers. The main field is very well maintained with a central playing area (complete for goals for football) around which the generous sized pitches are placed. The pitches are on a very slight slope but nothing to worry about. Most have EHU. There is also another field which is used for overflow and those who do not need EHU. The men's toilet block is slightly dated but very clean. 10p coins are needed to operate the shower. The ladies is new and again clean. Even though there are only 2 showers (plus a disabled one) there was never a wait. 20p coins are needed to operate these. The only downside we could find was that there was no seating provided in the showers, nowhere to properly put your wash bag and not enough hooks to hang clothes. To get over the hook problems we now always take suction hooks wherever we camp. There is also a covered area for washing up and a very large washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a freezer for campers' use. Children are invited to join in with farm life. There are sheep, cows, pigs, chickens. Older children are able to roam the farm and help with feeding, collecting eggs etc. Each evening the children can walk Nelli the sheep around the farmland. Just as we arrived twin lambs were being born and we were able to witness their first steps. John, the farmer, invited the kids to join him in haymaking. They all trundled off on the trailer behind the tractor and disappeared for the afternoon to help collect hay bales. Afterwards they cooled down by paddling in the stream. The surrounding area is beautiful, overlooking Exmoor. A nearby village has pubs, restaurants, a couple of shops. It is only a 20 min drive into Tiverton if you need something bigger. This is one of the friendliest campsites we have stayed on. The owners are lovely and John joined in a game of football with the kids. His children befriend all the guests and generally a good time is had by all. If you want a quiet, no frills, get away, we can thoroughly recommend this site. We'll definitely be making return visits.

The campsite is in a lovely position and the owners were very friendly. We were warned before coming that they were having a private party on the Friday, this was a bit noisy but finished at midnight. The farm is very nice, not pretty as it is a working farm. The ground was water logged when we were there and we were so glad to have wellies with us. I think with the private party going on, the bathrooms were not as clean as we expected and we were shocked to find out we had to pay. This we didn't mind, but not finding out until we got there caused problems as we were scrambling around to find change. One 20p does not last very long and you would need two, even then you have to get a move on. The men's were only 10p and lasted a long time. We were woken by noisy neighbours putting up their tent at 1am! Then the same neighbours coming back the next morning at 1am. I did complain to the owner who apologised and said that they were warned to be quite. To be honest they shouldn't have been allowed to pitch at that time. The site is really nice, and I would return for a long weekend when the weather is better. The owners were great and the animals were a big hit with the kids.

This was my first "proper" camping trip and I have to say I was a bit apprehensive to stay on a working farm, but this place is fantastic. You do pitch away from the animals but have the odd sheep or chicken wandering around. The kids found walking the sheep in the evening very amusing. They are happy for you to feed the lambs and collect fresh eggs which my daughter really enoyed (but you don't have to) the owners are very friendly, the toilets and showers are few but very very clean (and we didn't have to queue), there is a large playfield which the farmer put goalposts up in with his tractor (we found very funny) and best of all the ptches were fairly level. So to recap brilliant place to stay if you want to get away and stay in the middle of nowhere. Great! Great! Great! P.s only a tenner a night! So thanks to all for a relaxing break.

We spent two nights on this site and wished we had booked for longer. It is part of a working farm - one of the enduring memories of our 3 week touring holiday will be my 6 year old and his delight at his close encounter with a chicken! This was the cheapest site we stayed at, but the facilities did not reflect this. The owner was very friendly (finding time to join in with a football match). During our stay the field was set up with units camping round the edge, with the middle turned over to providing a football pitch with goals - no more needed for the boys! There was also a barn complete with hay/straw which the children were welcome to play in. This was the children's favourite site out of the 8 we stayed at during our tour. As we were leaving they were setting up the football pitch to accommodate a rally - this would definitely have changed my children's opinion of the site and it is something I would check before booking. With children of 6 and 9 we did not find it easy to walk/cycle directly from the site as the road outside was winding and fairly narrow with no footpaths. We would definitely use this site again. Value for money 10/10

If you are looking for a quiet few days away we can highly recommend ths site. It is a working dairy farm with sheep and chickens too. There are always young calves to pet and pet lambs to go walking with. It is run by a lovely family. North Devon coast is quite close and there is plenty to do in Barnstaple which again is only a car journey away. Locally there are two shops in the village about a mile away and two lovely pubs one about a mile and the other about two miles. We are regular visitors and would recommend it to anyone.

If you are looking for a small getaway from it all site, that is open all year you won't better this one. Situated between Dartmoor & Exmoor about 7miles from Tiverton,it is a working farm with chickens, cattle and sheep. Walks are allowed over the farm fields (dogs welcome on leads if livestock present) Feed the lambs and calves. The farmer and his wife are very friendly and always have a supply of free range eggs and honey for sale. They also do a very comfortable Bed & Breakfast, which is handy if you have visitors and haven't got the space to put them up in your van. We were doawn there over Christmas this year and it was lovely, we will definatly go there next Christmas.
