We have visited this site now a few times and find the staff very nice. The leisure facilities are good with a Sauna, Jacuzzi Swimming Pool, Games Room and Playpark.
The toilets are clean but I would have to say tired. They could benefit from being updated.
The pitches are average size with a gravel base. I struggle a bit to get the 6 berth motorhome back to the fence when the bike rack is down without the nose sticking out at the front.
Fochabers is a lovely town but the traffic is terrible. With visiting a few times we have found that if you walk along by the river you can walk to the town avoiding all of the traffic. If you have young children I would thoroughly recommend that you take this option.
We will go back as we really enjoy this place for a weekend stop off.

Had a fantasic weekend break. Would just like to thank the wardens they were very friendly and helpful. Had no problems pitching our tent. The facilities were very clean and cleaned regular. My 6 year old son had a fantastic time in the swimming pool, jaquzzi and sauna. Also had a games room and a playground. 5 minute walk to main street. Half hour drive to Elgin. All round had a super weekend. Will be back my son loved it. Thank you.

Site superpitch OK but ordinary pitch very small for a motorhome (7m). People running site very friendly and have only been on site a few weeks. Toilets not very clean. No hooks on cubicle doors to hang jacket and on last day no toilet paper in cubicle. Dirty marks from day before still there. The toilet facilities badly need an upgrade they are dated and tired. Surrounding area interesting some nice woodland walks. Fochabers however has the busiest traffic I have ever seen some of the noise carries to the site. At £17 per night not good value for money.

This site was excellent I've been quite a lot of times since I was little and now I've a family of my own we went back with our touring caravan. There were no pitches left but they found us one up beside the static caravans and it was so lovely and quiet. There were swings right beside the caravan and our kids were delighted with them. They are aged 2 and 1. The cars on site are very slow and take good care. The pool was excellent for them and ourselves. The toilet blocks were very clean and were cleaned quite a lot through the day. The wardens were very nice and helpful. There's not really much to do in Fochebers but it was nice and quiet, and the weather was a bonus as it was lovely and hot

Burnside is one of Scotland's hidden gems. Sitting alongside the A96 Aberdeen to Inverness road, the convenient centralised location easily makes up for any traffic noise. This is also the route of the number 10 bus service that runs between Inverness and Aberdeen which stops outside the site despite there being no bus stop. Bus fares are expensive though so its worth enquiring about explorer type passes at a main office. The village of Fochabers is a short stroll away with shops to supply your every need including a superb chippy with fish and chips to die for.
The campsite itself has excellent facilities. The site has around 30 touring pitches with additional tent pitches. The free showers are clean and hot and there's even a hairdryer provided at no extra cost although the mirrors could use to be sited a little closer to the hairdryer for ease of use. The ladies shower cubicles vary in size including a wet room large enough for mum to take in young children. There's also a separate wet room for the disabled and wheel chair user with low level sink etc. And a handy fold down shower seat.
The laundry room has plug sockets which would be handy for any emergency ironing. The washer costs £2 per large load and the tumble dryer was free. The heated indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna were all unexpected surprises, if only I'd brought my bikini! I really do not understand claims of unhelpful staff not permitting large tents. I found the site warden particularly pleasant and helpful in every way and I saw plenty of huge tents on very generous pitches. With many other very happy campers I spoke to being annual returnees I can only think some reviewers want to keep this site a secret.

Very nice clean site, toilets clean, hall area great for the rainy day`s, swimming pool better than before, showers lovely and hot, great place for going away with your bike and long walk`s. Some of the pitches a bit muddy and you need rock peg`s. Will be back!

Lovely site with excellent clean facilities, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna etc (charged separately). Short walk into Town itself which has nice shops. However, They don't cater for family tents! We phoned first and told them it was a large 6 man tent. There seemed to be no problem until we arrived and found that the small 15x15 meter tent area was taken by two other large 8 man tents. We set up in a clear area beside this, near to electric hook up for tents, next to a small caravan. In the morning the warden instructed us to move as we were too close to the caravan adjacent (for noise reasons) and in the electric tent area. As it was raining we appealed to him to leave us for our last night but he refused saying that he was going to stop large tents coming as they take up too much space. We were in a space the same size as a caravan, and were paying the same rate but not requiring the electricity, however he maintained it was not cost effective. Stating that he will only accept 4 man tents from now on! We were so disappointed we packed up and went home. We will not return to this park again as they have an unclear tent policy and no clearly marked tent areas. It is a nice park and I would recommend it for those caravaners of you out there but take midgie repellent as we were eaten alive in only one night!
