We had a fantastic two weeks stay, the owners were very friendly, the site was kept clean & tidy, toilets were spotless, I must say this is the best site we have ever stayed on and will definitely be back, nothing was too much for the owners. The site was very reasonably priced & we felt we got excellent value for money, Thankyou very much.

Great friendly site with the owners having time for all the campers. Children came and made friends with our daughter on the first night and became good friends. The site has basic facilities but it's planned to extend these in time. The site is a work in progress after the owners only took over In 2012 and have had lots to do already to improve the site and farm. They have a large green area In the middle which is kept camper free so is ideal for children to play. There is a walk around the river where you can see lots of wild life. We spent a lovely week here and made friends with the owners and will certainly be coming back next year. Well recommended. 5* for friendliness.

What can I say what a wonderful site. The owners are very hospitable. We sited our van there for the summer holidays and we had a great time the site is well placed as very central with easy access to the north yorkshire moors and north Yorkshire coast. The farm is great and our daughter thought the alpacas were fantastic we will definitely be going back again this year

Just back from another visit to this lovely quiet site (our second) can't rate the owners higher both of whom have become friends and their two lovely children. Nothing is too much trouble and they all are always willing to help at a drop of a hat proved this time around by the loan of a large tarpaulin to cover our tent to help reduce the leaks we developed over a very wet 24 hrs. The site has basic facilities at present still but its an on going improvement and will be interesting to see what's new the next time we visit. They are restoring the farm house as their home and developing both the campsite and the farm with new additions this time around such as the horses, peacocks, peahens and goats. Don't forget the regular farm animals of the alpacas, chickens(you can buy the fresh eggs too) the rooster along with the duck that thinks its a chicken (honest! ask the owners) they also have the pet dogs, Ben and Jade and their cat too.
I would recommend the site to anyone wanting a quiet time and relaxed break away. For those of us with children they have a large grassed area in the middle that never has units on it so is fantastic for them to play on and with the many walks around the fields and lake its a great way to see the nature around the area too. Looking forward to our next visit to our home from home.

If you are looking for a spacious quiet site, Westgate Carr Farm is just for you. The site has chickens, duck, peacocks, alpacas, goats and horses and a lovely peaceful walk beside a river.
With very friendly owners, the site is well kept and many campers have been previously and returned. No showers at present but clean toilets.
Being a 5 minute drive to the centre of Pickering, I will definitely book again.

This was our 1st ever camping trip and couldn't have picked a better place! Dave(owner)and his son were so friendly and helpful. Site is clean & basic, no showers but clean toilet & sink. Such a relaxing spot, we watched the alpacas play each morning! There is a lovely walk just off the campsite along the side of a stream where we saw a heron! As it was early in the year, we mainly had the site to ourselves but, even if full, each spot has plenty of room. Located site with not too much difficulty, it is along a secluded, narrow lane but there are passing points so no problems there. Pickering is a lovely town only a short walk away. If you want a quiet camp-site where you feel part of nature then we would highly recommend this site, it was a great introduction to camping for us and we will definitely visit again.

Anne and I stayed at Westgate Carr Farm for 5 nights over Easter, we could not fault it. The location is ideal, down a country lane, peaceful with only country sounds to enjoy, but within walking distance of Pickering. The facilities are very good and the pitches are more than adequate, room for caravan, awning, and vehicle, in a line. There is a large grassed area well mown, which is ideal for children to play safely. There are also a few walks from the site without having to access the main road. The hosts and their children were also on hand at any time to help or advise. We hope to return soon. Anne & Roger.

WoW What a fantastic family for our hosts. Extremely interested in our needs, nothing what so ever too much trouble, even offered to take us into town so we didn't have to move our unit. Did get stuck so the owner got out the tractor to tow us off, both of us surprised it was so wet. Toilets adequate for our needs, very clean, no washing up facilities as yet, still under development. Loving the renovation of the farm. These people are doing the most fantastic job of creating a nature loving site, will be great for all nature lovers. Did see the little egret, sadly not any otters or the deer which roam around. Can't thank them enough for a great but wet weekend, promised to go back in Sept, can't wait.

Very nice and quiet site one mile from Pickering town centre down a long straight road with passing places. The site is flat with easy access off the road. The helpful and friendly wardens were there to assist with any problems 'not that there was any'. New toilet blocks had just been installed. The water taps and waste disposal were all close by. A total pleasure and enjoyable weekend. Will be going back in October

Well what an absolutely lovely site and a lovely family, (I should really give a bad review so I can keep the site all to myself) joking a side, it was perfect, a farm site with farm animals, we even went home with a cockerel & two hens! The toilet block was basic but spotless, it seemed to us as soon as someone used it they were in there cleaning it! Stunning views & no light pollution and off the beaten track, home from home for us! the sites situated just outside the town of Pickering.
We've even arranged to have our caravan stored there next year, because we live 200 miles away the owners have said he'll get the caravan out of storage & site it for us, very helpful, as said in other reviews the site is under going improvements so it will be interesting to watch it progress. Donna & Parsley
