An excellent site in our opinion. A good size, well maintained and in a great location. The site is pretty and has good ammenities. Showers and toilets are clean and pleasant to use. They may be basic but a lot nicer than some! The site also has a shop and a laundry, but we didn't need to use either, so cannot really comment on them.
Despite the constant rain, the site is on well drained land and there wasn't a patch of mud to be seen.
We stayed with our 2 dogs and enjoyed some great walks with them.
The site fee includes dogs and elec hook-up, so no annoying add-ons here.
Market Rasen itself has a great selection of shops from a large Tesco with 24hr fuel to some great tradition shops and a market. There are a couple of friendly pubs, a wine bar, and takeaways of every kind. Lincoln is also less than 20 miles away and worth a visit.
We would definitely recommend this site to anyone and will keep it on our list of places to go back to.

Easter weekend was our first visit and won't be the last. The site is far enough from town to be comfortable but close enough to be convenient. Next time we'll take the bikes; even though Walesby is on the edge of the Wolds there are plenty of cycling and walking miles to be found. The site itself is nicely kept and the staff are pleasant and helpful. The toilet and shower block, while not very central, is very clean but get used to the 11am-1pm cleaning shutdown so you're not caught out! If, like us, you like to see the stars at night you'll be happy here - Market Rasen isn't big enough to spoil the dark too much and the site is pretty well unlit after dark. We would happily recommend Walesby Woodlands, but don't all go when we're trying to book!

A very clean and quiet (no site traffic between 09.30 pm and 8.30 am) site. There are plenty of good dog walks direct from the site and Market Rasen is only forty minutes walk away. The only complaint we had was the erratic toilet cleaning regime (closed from 12 to 2 on the sign but closed at 11.30. The following day closed at 3 o'clock)The toilets/showers(free)are basic but very clean. A good relationship with the local pizza shop whom deliver direct to site saved the need to even leave the site. The shop is very basic but weekend papers are available. All in all a good small (circa 60 pitches) site which is well worth a visit. The playground is very basic and no large areas for football etc. At £13 a night including electics a fair price.

May 2005 A lovely well run site set in woods between the market town of Market Rasen and the village of Walesby. The owners are very friendly and helpful. This forest area is great for walking and cycling. The on site shop/reception has a selection of necessities, eggs, milk and bread; they can order your morning papers for you too. There is a barrier at the entrance to the pitches with no vehicle movements between 9.30 PM and 7.00 AM. The Keycard entry system requires a £5.00 deposit for the card. The keycard also allows access to the toilet area. Grass pitches, no hardstandings. Pitches do tend to be narrow but this might only be an issue if the site became very full. Toilet/shower facilities are clean, roomy and well maintained. We shall return.

May 2005 Excellent friendly family run site. Great for the dogs! Surrounded by woodlands, as the name suggests. Very clean and well kept shower block/toilets and grounds. Local information provided. Well worth a visit if you want to get away from the madding crowd, but still only a short walk from the ammenities of Market Rasen. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be visiting again!!

June 2003 What a wonderful little site!Set amidst fields and pine forests, this site is excellent for people just wanting a simple, no frills, get away from it all holiday. The site isn't big, only takes about 60 caravans, and a small number of tents, but is very well maintained, and has everything to hand. The owners personally show you to your pitch, show you where the facilities are, and give you a run down on the local area, walks etc. The toilet and shower block is clean and fresh, with flowers and nice handsoap. Theres a small shop/reception that stocks essentials, and a few caravanning accessories, again manned by the owners. The price is fairly reasonable too, it cost us £11.50 per night for caravan, 2 people, electric & awning ( no charge for the dogs!). It's the same all through the season except on bank holidays where it goes up a couple of pounds. It's ideal for dog owners as there are plenty of walks through the forestry. And any horse lovers out there will find Market Rasen Racecourse just 2 miles away! If there is a down side to this site,it's the fact that the caravans are pitched very close together, side by side. However, theres plenty of room front and back to spread out, and you certainly don't feel hemmed in and it wasn't at all noisy, as you would expect from a full campsite. All in all, well worth a visit!
