We visited Stanmore in July for a long weekend. We stayed in the Adult section. The site facilities are second to none and always kept clean. The staff are very friendly, but you do feel as if you have to obey by the strict rules at all times.

Our pitch was great and we were visited regularly by ducks! The lake in the middle of the site is a lovely touch and we even got too see some little ducklings which the dog took a fancy to!

You could hear the peacock at night which was actually quite nice, rather than annoying! There is a slight hum from the road, but nothing a pair of earplugs wouldn't fix.

The site fees are quite a bit higher than anywhere else we have visited (£25 per night) - debatable as to whether or not they are worth it.

Bridgnorth is just around the corner which is a nice place to visit. We headed off to Much Wenlock for a long walk with the dog which was great.

Lovely place - may revisit next year!

We have just returned from a two week stay at this site, and what a nice site it was! Easy to find and barrier controlled access for peace of mind.

The wardens are friendly and make the checking in process a pleasure, the site is large and picturesque with some good pitches overlooking the lake. A more peaceful adults only section is available should you wish to be away from the kids roaming around the site! (more so at the weekend)

Play area for the children and a dog walk(dogs still have to be on a lead even in this area) Loads to do and visit in the surrounding area so whether rain or shine you will find things to do should you wish to do so.

Showers block/toilets clean and ample with a good laundry room and dish-washing facilities. Would go back or try one of their other sites.

After reading the site description on their web page we booked 1 week at this site. According to their web site there was a 'luxury reception' & 'luxury showers'. The site was also described as 'the atmosphere is one of calm relaxation'.

Do not be mislead by this description, what they don't tell you is that the site is adjacent to the main road with constant road noise, this was so bad on some occasions that we couldn't even have a normal conversation outside on the pitch.

The luxury reception area was a counter in the shop. I complained to the site manager with no joy, I have since written to their head office to complain, no response to my letter sent in June.

The facilities are not as good as the caravan club sites & are more expensive, in fact there was a constant smell from the drains in the shower blocks.

The area around the service points were not cleaned during our stay, this area was covered by grass cuttings & other debris.

We are not overly fussy campers, we like a nice clean site with friendly staff, unfortunately this we did not find on our visit. We have stayed at better municipal sites in France.

Stayed for 2 nights at Stanmore Hall. Excellent, well maintained, only 10 mins drive from Bridgnorth town. Well signposted from the main road. Site is accessed/existed via security barriers.

Pitches are large and the site is well laid out. There is a large pool that is in the middle of the camp site which has resident ducks, also there is a peacock that patrols the grounds. I must say I have had the best shower ever at this site.

The toilet/shower block is accessed with a key. The shower cubicles all have a pull down seat, plenty of hooks for cloths/towels, a holder in the shower for your shampoo / soap etc and the water can be controlled by both heat / cold and pressure of water. There are also separate private washing areas. Free hairdryers too!

The play park has swings etc. The shop is well kept and the reception staff are very friendly. We forgot our TV aerial and they kindly lent us one for our stay.

We took our dog with us and on a slightly down note, there is no where to let your dog off the lead. There is a dog walk that surrounds the site and there are plenty of dog bins around. Happy camping / touring everyone.

Good site in a lovely location - Bridgenorth very nearby (transport needed - motorhome owners may need more than a push bike as it is quite hilly going into town)

Great for walking Black Country museum at dudley is excellent - suggest the whole day for a family with children. Can take a picnic and if you gift aid entrance fee you can return free for 12 months.

Good facilities on site. It was very busy so chose to shower in the evening -able to get in straight away. May have been more difficult in the morning as over 130 pitches and only one toilet / shower block.

We were on hardstanding (prefer grass but no choice as we booked late). Wardens are really nice and helpful.

Think it would be a good idea to enforce the 'one way' system for bikes as well as cars. Many bikes and safety was a concern - riding against the cars

Good meal at The Red Lion - menu in information room.

Lots to do but as we only had the weekend we did not have to do much.

We stayed at Stanmore and found the site very friendly. We had a super pitch and though my hose did not reach the water supply everything else was very good. The staff did say that the tv might not be very good but we had an excellent picture on ours.

The shop is very well stocked. We purchased a 25 metre tv cable for £15- bargain. The other prices are what you would expect to pay at a site shop.

The toilets and showers are very well kept. Someone paid great attention as all the screws in the shower block are perfectly vertical. Sad to notice but the attention is in the details.

The site will only allow one car per pitch though there is parking by reception though this is outside of the automated barriers.

The town of Bridgnorth is a short drive away. There are no local pubs or shops within easy walking distance.

All in all our stay was pleasurable which is nice as we are staying at their other two sites later this year.

This is a nice site. Agree with a previous post though about the noise from the road - this has to be the worst one we've stayed at for traffic noise - but then again we were on a pitch just as you enter the site, I reckon the ones further round might not be as noisy. I was surprised there only seemed to be the one shower block for the entire site - but having said that, every time I went I never saw anyone else in there so it must be sufficient. We were unfortunate to be placed in a pitch in the corner right next to the little gap in the fence to get out of the field, and we ended up having every tom dick and harry just walking past the window of the van, so no privacy at all. Play area was nice, but a bit too far away from where we were to let my 8 year old go on her own. Ideally situated for some good sight seeing, and we had a good time. Would probably try a different one from their chain in the future.

It was with great trepidation that myself, the wife and the boy made the long and perilous journey to Stanmore from our home in Stafford, we normally tend to stay in the local area but decided on somewhere a little more exotic for the boys first holiday.

On entering the park I knew straight away that this was the place for us, clean & spacious with good facilities and a cracking little shop. A little bit of paradise in Shropshire. I got on with the task of setting up our tent (17 mins 26 secs, a record if you're interested) while the wife and boy relaxed in the old Mondeo.

The surrounding area was cracking, me and my mate 'Slap' having a nice pint of Bass or two in the local watering hole, great views and much better weather than we get at home.

All in all we had a fantastic week, there's so much to do and we could have stayed much longer, I think the wife summed it when during a game of crib on the Sunday evening, her with a glass of wine, a nice can of Bass for myself, she looked at me and said Andy 'This is the life'

Have recently returned from 4 nights here over the Easter Holiday! Very nice site. Mainly grass pitches but some with hardstandings which is where we were pitched!

Friendly staff, but they are very strict about how you pitch: car, caravan and awning all facing the same way! Ok if you're on your own, but flexibility is nice if you're away with friends!

Nice dog walking area and lovely lake with ducks & geese. Also a peacock patrols the grounds! Small playarea. Ideal site for bikes though.

Toilet block is immaculate, loads of hot water and also dishwashing area & laundry! Bridgnorth is a lovely quaint town & well worth a visit. There is a Sainsbury's, Somerfield & M&S Food! Will definitely be returning!

We stayed here for four days and was very lucky with the weather what a fantastic campsite!

Lovely showers (which were free), lovely staff, a good shop, quiet and peaceful. A good adventure to get on a steam train (not too dear). So recommend to visit the severn railway.

The best pub to eat in is the castle in Bridgnorth also selling real ales. We are returning to this site in 2010 and can't wait to get there.
