This is a quiet, well looked after site ran by people who obviously take the time to make campers welcome. Toilets and showers in good nick, and kept clean. Great pub (top beer) ten minutes walk away and loads of places to visit within half hour drive - Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury, Wells and Wookey hole. The site used to have its own website which gave a really good impression of how the site is. They now have a caravan club web page instead which lacks the pictures and info contained in the previous site. Still, I wouldnt worry about that - highly recommended!

Tried this site for a quick weekend trip with the boys. If you are after somewhere quiet, this is the site for you. the owners are friendly (didn't mind that we were late leaving as we were trying to work out the new tent bag), facilities amazingly clean (for a deposit you get a key giving you access to the family room if you have small children- much easier), and the barrier limits 'visitors'. The site does slope slightly, but not enough for it to have made any difference. The play area is small, but has great views of all the animals in the neighbouring farm, and has enough to keep them amused. Nearby attractions include Cheddar, Glastonbury and Wells, all of which are worth a visit. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a quiet break.

Good points: toilets clean and warm; plenty of hot water; very nice mother and child toilets - one with a changing table, the other with two toilets and two showers (for these you need a key, no extra charge but a £5 deposit); children's play area; and the ground was stone-free where we pitched. Bad points: our pitch was not very level and we had to put our tent right on the end where it wasn't too bad; and we were against the hedge by the road, which though quiet did have some traffic late at night and in the morning.

This is a rural site in a lovely area. The facilities have all been recently refurbished as it is under the C&CC now and they are immaculate. We particularly liked the family shower/bathroom having 2 under-5s. The tent area is mainly sloping so pitch carefully, a bit of tweaking over where you put your tent makes quite a difference. Very peaceful at night even though it was fully booked in the school hols - probably to do with considerate-minded parents, which was nice to see. There is lots to do in the area, Cheddar Gorge, Wells, Glastonbury and very good for walkers, lots of footpaths. The owners bake pastries and bread every day (with the exception of Wednesdays) and these quickly became a habit! Priddy village is half-a-mile away with 2 pubs, would recommend the New Inn. Will definitly return.

What can we say, Fantastic site, superb location, A quick drive to cheddar, Wells, Bath, Western super-mare, the wardens even saved us 2 pitches together as we were going with friends, Toilet block was absolutely spotless! Excellent play area for children, and plenty of electric points around. Nicely laid out pitches so you didn't feel overcrowded even though the site was full, We are aiming to return next year and this will definitely be in our favourites list! We would also like to mention how extremely helpful the wardens were, They couldn't do enough for us and really were a testament to the logo "the friendly club".

July 2005 Just arrived back home today after staying at this site, the first time camping for my wife and two boys and we all had a great time. We couldnt fault the site at all and my wife (who only came at the last minute to avoid staying at home alone) is now a convert to camping.

May 2005 A group of four of us with two tents stayed over May bank holiday week (rubbish weather). First impressions good, as name suggests, the site is on top of the Mendips so can be a bit exposed to the elements. Faciliites at the site are very good, the shower blocks are very clean (free showers). Only two showers in each block though but wasn't much of a problem. The shower blocks close at 11:00am for an hour or so for cleaning. Well stocked shop with fresh baked bread and pastries...not too expensive either, no papers though and it doesn't open until 8:30am. Village of Priddy is a ten minute walk with two pubs, one realy nice with open log fires, which is tucked away round the corner from the other (but worth the extra 1 min walk!...and I'd recommend the Mendip Magic......cider.....6%....) The campsite is slap bang between Wells and Cheddar with the Gorge a pleasant 10 min car ride away. Glastonbury isn't far away either and there is a medium sized Tesco in Wells! I'd imagine this would be a brilliant stop if you could guarantee the weather but our stay was spoilt a little by the wind, rain and fog.....and the cow with a hernia in the next field.

August 2004 We were on our way home on the M5 with a very wet tent in the boot, after packing up during a thunder storm. We saw bright sunshine over my favourite town of Wells and decided to add an extra night to our trip to dry out. Found this site and after many years camping have never been welcomed so warmly. The new owners not only squeezed us onto the site but then assisted in our dry out bid. A true campsite with usual facilities to a high standard with childrens play area and dog exercise area. No gimmicks just good camping. Will be going back and would highly recommend it.

August 2004 Just stayed at this site for 6 nights. We chose this site from the good reviews on this web site and we can't disagree. The new owners were always helpful and very freindly. The freshly baked bread and pastries every morning were wonderful as were the take-away meals available on Fri and Sat evenings. The family room with two showers was excellant for us and had loads of room, my children did not like showers before but love them now. We had an electric pitch for our trailer tent and it was on a slope but it did not prove too much of a problem. The site is very peaceful and ideal for touring the very pretty area. The site is highly maintained and immaculately clean, bins are emptied several times a day. A highly reccommended site good luck to the new owners.

August 2004 A lovely little campsite and well worth a visit. Picturesque location, very good shop, good shower block despite it being tokens. I can't add much more information to what others have said really - another reviewer mentioned the sloping pitches on the top field. There are no marked out pitches as such, the owner walks you round and points out suitable spaces where your tent could be pitched. The top field is also immediately adjacent to a public road. The road is very quiet indeed with little traffic so I wasn't concerned about road noise rather safety/security issues as the top field tents are in plain view of any passers-by. But I think I may have been more conscious of this than most as I camped here on my own without the family.
