Good Basic, Level Site, Grass well Mown, Pity about the cuttings we trampled into our Caravan :-). Water Close, EHU's well spaced, Only just got away with one cable.
Chippy / Chinese 4 miles away in Aberporth, NOT open Mon / Tues. Found a good Local Pub In PantGwyn, which did a good Sunday lunch + Pudding for £15 / head, Including a pint each.
Do Pitch as far away as possible from A487, If you're Camping. Excellent TV signal. If you're into engines, Museum of Internal Fire (open W/ends & Bank Holidays) a few miles North. Ancient Hill Fort a few miles south of Cardigan. Both attractions Signed from A487.
Happy To accept those that like Me, tow with an Unsignwritten Van.
Good comms via e-mail too.
Thanks David.

Lovely friendly welcome from Sue with a cup of tea and delicious cake which was much appreciated. Easygoing attitude to pitching tents which was nice. We didn't find the facilities adequate for the number of pitches with only one toilet for men, one for ladies and one unisex. There was only one sink for washing up and one shower for men, one for ladies and one unisex. We did quite a bit of queuing. The tavern on site has limited opening times and doesn't do food so we had to get in the car for our evening meal. Good pubs serving very reasonably priced food in Aberporth and Tresaith, just a few minutes drive away, both with stunning coastal views. We would have preferred to pay a bit more and have better facilities.

After being stuck n a road traffic accident for over an hour we finally made it to the site to be met by David and Sue with a lovely cup of coffee and a nice piece of lemon cake Sue had made earlier.
The site is larger than you think and level. Although it is next to the road after a couple of hours you don't notice it. Toilets and showers are immaculate, also a small bar/ coffee bar. If you want to use the internet you can obtain the code from the coffee bar. Would I recommend this site?? You bet I would and hope to pay another visit next year.

Our second visit to this site. We spent New Ears eve, lovely weekend. We went to the Tavern to see the new year in, Sue served a lovely Hotpot and we had champagne at midnight. We sampled the wonderful breakfasts twice. Lovely people, will use this site again and again.

We stayed at this site for 8 nights up to Sunday 7th August.
It is the friendliest site we have ever stayed on. Dave & Sue go out of their way to be helpful. We were greeted with a brew and home made cake by Sue whilst putting the tent up. She also brought us some information leaflets and arranged a picnic bench and bricks for the barbecue. The next day Dave brought a pint from a new barrel over to the tent for us to try.
We used part of the freezer in the bar for ice packs every day.
The site is level & well looked after. The toilets and showers are clean & no queues while we were there. There's an indoor sink for washing up. The tea room/reception has wifi. You can have breakfast, afternoon tea or pre-order meals (very reasonable)
There is a campers cabin adjoining the bar with local information leaflets and pool table.
The tavern is small & cosy where everyone can sit together and make new friends. They have local draught beer and cans at reasonable prices. They even brought limes especially for my G&T!
Locally, there is a Tesco, Aldi and Budgens in Cardigan as well as shops/pubs/restaurants. (within 10 minutes drive)
Aberporth beach, voted the best in Wales, is 40 minutes walk/5 minute drive with free on road parking or £3 a day in the car parks.
The cliff walk from there to Tresaith beach takes about 30 minutes.
There are lots of nice bays & beaches a short drive away, and within 20 minuets you can be in New Quay watching dolphins, Aberaeron for lunch or Poppit sands for stargazing.
Tenby, Saundersfoot, St Davids and Aberystwyth are all an hour away.
There is a good bus service during the day between Cardigan and Aberystwyth too.
When I read there was a bar on site I thought it would be too busy but it was perfect, friendly & cosy.
We will be back, maybe to stay in the boat Dave is turning into a glamping pod!
Thanks for a great week!

My husband, 3 year old boy, dad, step-mum, sister & her boyfriend have just stayed at this campsite for the Bank Holiday weekend for two nights and we wish that we could have stayed for longer. As soon as I called up to book and pay the deposit Sue, the owner, was really helpful and even sent us some information in the post about the place. My dad, step-mum, sister and her boyfriend were not able to arrive until the early hours of Saturday morning because of work, and Sue and her Husband Dave, had no issues with this.
As soon as my husband, our little boy and I arrived, we were given the choice of where to pitch up, as we were using electric hook-up too. As we were pitching up, Sue and Dave came to us with a cuppa (juice for our boy) & a piece of Sue's gorgeous home-made lemon cake each! Just what we needed after a 4 & a half hour drive! Then, they showed us where the facilities were and left us to it. We were staying in a five-man tent, but also putting up two two-man tents for the rest of our party when they arrived. My step-mum & I were sharing the electric hook-up, as we needed it just before bed, and my step-mum needed it throughout the night for her breathing mask and I did wonder whether we'd both be charged for electric hook-up (even though we were only using one hook-up), but we weren't. Sue & Dave were quite laid back about payment & so we didn't settle up until we were leaving. We even forgot that we had paid a deposit and tried to pay fully for the cost, but Dave reminded us which was honest, as he could have made 20 quid off of us!
We had a packet of microwaveable rice to go with our home-made chilli for tea on the first night, and Sue & Dave thought nothing of it to go and cook it for us in their own microwave. I had bought some marshmallows for my little boy to toast over the communal campfire for the first time ever, but no skewers! Again, Sue went & got her own skewers from their house - nothing was too much trouble for them! They are such a lovely couple and we were really appreciative for what they did for us in just two nights stay.
As the rest of the party didn't arrive until the early hours of Saturday morning, Sue and Dave still made their way to us mid-morning with a piece of the lovely home-made cake for the rest of the party - busy people!
There were two toilets, three showers and one washing up sink. These were kept clean and we never had to queue to use the toilets or showers even though the campsite seemed quite full. Even though the campsite filled up a bit on the Saturday, there didn't seem to be loads of people about all of the time, and everybody was considerate and quiet after 10ish.
It is next to a main road, which did seem quite noisy on the first night (probably with it being a Friday evening and Bank Holiday), but the next night wasn't so bad. You can hear all of the birds going to bed and even an owl at night. It was lovely.
My husband & dad tried the real ales at the tavern on the last night (and my dad doesn't drink!) and everybody even had a game of pool & darts. We shared our marshmallows with anybody who wanted one. There were quite a few fish in the pond which my dad & little boy liked to watch, and the general feeling about the place was laid back & fun.
We visited Aberporth beach on the first day which was literally just down the road (about 5mins drive away if that). This was a gorgeous sandy beach and quite quiet for a Bank Holiday weekend. We stayed there all day as parking was £3 for all day.
There are three fields, and we pitched our tents on the third field furthest from the entrance to face the trees/hills. The sun goes down over these hills and what a lovely view and peaceful feel to the place. The static caravan looked nice too!
Sue and Dave even carried over a picnic bench for us whilst we were pitching up and told us to position it where we want. This made life easier for those in the two-man tents and it became a focal point for us all (obviously the gorgeous weather helped)!
We really would have liked to have tried some of the food & especially a campers breakfast, but we didn't plan in time & forgot to order the night before (next time)!
We have been camping for many years before my little boy came along, and we must say that we will definitely be returning to this campsite again. Hopefully for the next Bank Holiday!

Just spent a few days in Ceredigion, only 10 minutes drive from Cardigan, Aberporth, and surrounding beaches. Great base for touring around Ceredigion. David and Sue are very helpful and the welcome is great with the cup of coffee to tea and the Lemon drizzle cake, We also had breakfast which was great. Toilet and showers block would benefit with heating during the winter months, Games room, and nice cosy bar. We will certainly use this site again.
