 A great find of campsite and pub/restaurant
We found the small campsite online, in the right place, as we were off on a small cycle tour. On arrival, the greeting was so warm and friendly, that we decided to try out the restaurant too, especially as the campsite was only £6pppn.
The site is adequate, basic but reasonably flat. It was very quiet with 2 toilet / shower rooms, basic but clean and tidy, although wash up facilities are at an outside sink.
Facilities are available 24 hours. The wash rooms were not cold, despite the outside temperature. No longer a camping and caravan club certified site.
The food was really good and main meals ranged from £11. 95 upwards.
The bar is dog friendly, which was another bonus.
The ancient pub retains much of its historic atmosphere, having avoided "modernisation. "
Will we visit / stay again? Definitely
