Very friendly welcome, owners were very helpful. Lovely place albeit a bit muddy during our visit! Looking forward to going back in the summer. Plough pub for Sunday roast was great. 30min walk and dog friendly, thanks for the tip to book from Jules as it was rather busy!

To start, this site is now called Bluebell Coppice Park (not sure if the ownership has also changed recently maybe?). We booked a large tent pitch with electric hook-up. Three of us in our tent, myself, partner and 8 year old son.
The good stuff first. The site is very child friendly with lovely walks in bluebell covered woods (bluebells were in full flower on our visit over May Bank Holiday weekend 2022).
Large playing area and no way for a child to get out to the main road without a very long walk.
There is an honesty shop which is well stocked, you log what you take in a book and pay for it when you leave.
Firepit hire is great for chilly evenings.
That's where the good stopped unfortunately for us. The 'pitch' we were given was just dirt and bare tree roots, not a blade of grass in sight, even in April! Not even level or even, large dips and lumps on the pitch and tree roots so large you could not drive a car onto the pitch without causing damage. So we had to park he car off pitch. The pitch as it was was still only barely large enough to fit our outwell vermont L (5 berth tent), so not even a very big pitch, meaning nowhere to put up a table or chairs either. It would not take much effort to make the pitches flat, but that seams to much effort here.
On the Saturday night (second night of stay) the site allowed a family of 12 (6 adults and 6 children) to rock up at 22:00 and start to pitch their one single tent (12 all packed into a Berghaus 8 berth tent!). You can image the noise at 22:00 pitching a tent in pitch darkness when children are trying to sleep. This should not be allowed, way to late to be banging in tent pegs and inflating air beds etc.
The site only has 2 single showers and one 'family' room and 3 toilets to service the entire site. It is quite simply not enough, not even out of peak season. The site is very noisy at night (we may have been unlucky with guests that weekend). There were people letting off firecrackers etc well after midnight and the warden could not seem to find out who was responsible. That happened every night we were there.
I think that about covers it. It could be a lovely site - but its just currently being very badly maintained and managed. It's a shame I can't add photos to show these issues.

Beautiful site as previously stated the drive to the site is great all be a bit Bumpy.
You arrive at the check in lodge and are shown to your pitch as others we were early. The pitches are nicely placed. Showers, toilets are excellent and the little self service coffee/shop is basic but very nice.
At the back of this is sinks for doing washing up nice bonus I thought the camp site itself is lovely there is a small lake for the fishing fans and a great woodland walk. I spoke with nearly all the staff who are all very friendly and helpful.
We didn't know you could have fire pits on site but we went of shopping and when we returned they had put a fire pit on our pitch.
The owners Des and Jules should be so proud of what they have a created a lovely camp/clamping site that is so welcoming.
We will be visiting a lot.
If your looking for a quite site that is a bit out the way (but only a 20 min drive to civilisation then look no further)
Hastings 20 min, Tesco Extra 10 min drive

Brilliant place!
The drive down the little tree lined lane is excellent if not a tad bumpy do drive slow.
Made most welcome by the owner, even if I arrived a little early just after 1pm.
Pitch easy to find and they are varying in size and facilities. So there are pitches to suit all needs and units.
Pitches are firm and well drained, and laid out so your not overlooking everybody else.
Showers were hot and adequate. Toilets cleaned etc every day. Never had to wait to use any of them but the site was only at 1/3rd capacity.
Trees provide early morning or evening shade (depending on where you pitch) and its lovely and quite at night. Minimal lighting around so its good for star gazing!
Very quiet at night.
The shop carries the very basics. Its not manned all day. But you ring a buzzer if you need anything and someone appears to tend to your needs There is a Tesco Express two miles away on the way out of Battle and other larger Supermarkets further afield.
The site could do with a little bit of investment, some of the wooden pitch separation rails are a bit rotten. And the recycling/rubbish bins could do with a wee bit of clearer marking?
Lovely woodland walk. And couple of good sounding pubs within a mile or so.
All in all a real gem of a site. Not spoilt by being too commercial ! Old style Camping !

Just returned from this site. I've got to say I love this site. Something magical about this site. The lovely drive down into the valley surrounded by trees almost feels like being in a forest. Great walks and the facility's are clean and well kept. The fees are good and me and my family always feel very welcome by the site owner Paul and his family. Thank you for our stay on your lovely site Paul and family, we shall be returning next year. The Smith family.

Great campsite! This was our first family camping trip. And all of us enjoyed it. We made booking for three families, all had their own pitch. We were allocated next to each other and just next to kids play area which was so handy as together there were 7 children from our booking.
Extremely clean facilities, HOT water that is actually hot! Manager on site helpful, we took a pitch with electric and took our home kettle (didn't know we need a low voltage one) and manager offered one for us at no extra cost. Lovely shop with all general stuff and ice-cream! Kids appreciated
We arrived on Friday afternoon and we left Sunday morning. It was raining Saturday morning but rain soon stopped and we still had a lovely time and it didn't stop us enjoying the walk in the park. The fishing lake is nice we saw some big fish and my kids loved it. We also saw rabbits.
We will definitely be back and I do recommend it as a family friendly campsite! The only thing I missed was campfire, but anyway we had a great weekend!

Found the owner welcoming and friendly and the site was for the most part on level and well grassed over, first impressions are good. The small children's play area is right in the centre of the ground and overlooked by most of the pitches, so if you want a quiet site then perhaps this may not be fore you, however if you do have small children then this is a plus. I found the wash room facilities clean and in very good order with plenty of hot running water.
I would recommend this site.
