A really lovely site run by a super couple. Very peaceful with gorgeous surroundings.
Basic facilities but spotless clean.
Our hosts offered us a home made Indian meal on our 2nd night at a really great price.Absolutely the best meal we've ever had, scrumptious.
We can highly recommend

I booked a one night stay as I have been looking for somewhere within an hour of home, not in the middle of nowhere but with a feeling of being in the countryside and lovely views. This clean and tidy site scored full marks on all points. Dave gave us a lovely welcome and tour of the facilities which were basic but well thought out and clean. My husband found the fishing lakes great even in the wind and rain. The sun came out on day two and we had stunning views of the forest of bowland. A 25 minute walk would have taken us into glasson dock. Dave was full of information regarding walks and bike rides. Even though the caravan club book says there is bike hire on site but this is not available any longer. We watched parachutists jumping from planes overhead and land on the nearby airstrip.
I have booked again for next weekend and I am sure we will pay many more visits in the future.
Thanks dave

We first visited this site in June and it was just for one night stopover on our way to Berwick. We were impressed by the scenery and its
'feeling of remoteness'. We soon made our minds up that we'd return for another visit and spend a bit more time touring the area. It is a short distance from Glasson Dock which is a fascinating place. Also there are a couple of pubs within walking distance. We did a 20 minute walk to the main road and caught the bus into Lancaster. (£2. 50) Many interesting places to see there.
The site itself is slightly sloping on some pitches but nothing that can't be sorted with ramps. There is an adequate toilet shower block and the shower costs £1 but lasts for 10 mins, so 2 can shower in that time. Dave the owner is there to help you get pitched and has time for a chat about the area. I've only rated the child friendliness as a a 5, not because it isn't child friendly, there are a couple of slides and a swing but it just seems an idyllic spot that would be spoilt if it became a children's playground. Overall if you're looking for an out of the way place, quiet but within reach of Lancaster and Morecambe then this place ticks the boxes.

Helen is so friendly and helpful and makes you feel welcome from the minute you arrive!
We have visited this CL several times over the last two/three years. There is loads of space, several small pieces of play equipment for children (swings, tyre ring, small trampoline etc) and many fabulous walks straight from the site. If you don't mind walking a couple of miles or so down country lanes or through pleasant fields to a few local pubs / cafe at Glasson Dock you don't have to drive all weekend!
If you are a fisher 'person' then the fishing lakes will suit you well. There are some big carp in there! Wildlife is abundant and so are free range eggs that you can buy. Helen also caters for the fishermen and campers alike, so if you fancy a bacon butty or two, look no further. Just wish it was open all year! Roll on next March!

This is such a peaceful and friendly site. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Great for bikes, you can easily get to Glasson Dock where there is a cycle track which goes for miles on the site of an old railway line. Would not hesitate booking again-actually we did before we left!

We booked the site for 2 reasons - it had good walks for our 2 great danes and excellent fishing facilities. It lived up to and surpassed our expectations it helped by having wonderful weather for the time we were there. The owners of the site were wonderful and helpful this place is tucked away from all noise and has 2 fields for tourers. One field for 3 vans one field for 2 vans. Loads of space brilliant fishing well stocked carp pools . Cant say to much about this site it was all very good indeed and would not hesitate to rebook it again
