I owned this tent for a grand total of 11 years and I bought it second hand for Ł90 in 2004. This was one of the best investments of a tent that I have ever made.

It's durability astounded me, I went camping in sunny Scotland and during my stay there was two storms that attacked us at the same time one from the NE and one from SW, with lightning no less! The Coleman was one of the only tents that did not spring a leak of some sort. A lot of the other campers abandoned their tents and got into their cars.Not us!

The Bedrooms are big enough for a couple with small children (max 2 children) This was the only reason I parted with the Coleman this year as my girls are now 13 and we needed more space.

The tent itself is easy enough to put up and take down with 2 people and it packs away very neatly into its pack.

A wonderful tent and I was sad to see her go, she still looked new! But I know she still has many more great camping adventures ahead of her!

We bought ours in a discount camping shop for Ł100 in 2006 because it was 'last years model' although it does have windows in the living area, unlike the earlier models. Our previous tent was a similar size but the bedroom was the tallest part and it made sense to go for a design where you can stand up in the living area. Five years later I still can't fault the design although we did have a problem with a snapped pole after camping at the C&CC site at Folkestone (not a site I would recommend)in windy conditions. We replaced the broken piece with the spare provided and re-threaded the elastic and it's been fine ever since in even windier conditions, so maybe there was a flaw in the original piece.

It's a roomy tent for two allowing us to cook inside in wet weather. I also like the small bedroom area which retains heat which is ideal when camping in colder weather although we sometimes have to leave the bedroom doors rolled back in hot weather. The porch doors at either side allow for greater flexibility according to pitch and weather and unlike other reviewers, ours hasn't had zip/flap problems.

I don't know if Coleman still make this tent, but when ours goes to it's final resting place I'd certainly look to replace it with one just like it. It's great!

Ours has no windows but has stood up in very fierce winds and storms - only once did we have to take it down in the night during a gale but we were on the top of a mountain in France at the time. There is plenty of space for two people. Last year we thought we should get a newer tent but found that we hated it! Have given it away to friends. Our bispace is a fantastic tent and we are sticking with it for now and for the foreseeable future (or until we get too old for camping).

This is a great family tent which I have used very comfortably with my partner and daughter. She has since used it at festivals and crammed four friends in so it does sleep 5 at a push! I love the versatile living space and have found it an ideal tent for longer holidays, although I would hesitate to erect it just for overnight stays or if I was travelling alone. Mine has been used every year since I bought it and has withstood torrential rain, high winds and kept us cool in the sun. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a bit more comfort and space when camping.

This is a really good tent. Ours has had some real batterings from the wind and the rain and it has survived them all. Very easy to erect with colour coded poles, but I still have to check which retaining hole the pole goes into, I don't think it really matters as long as they all match-up.The only problem we have encountered is the weather protector on the door zips often gets caught, but it is easily rectified with patience. A great tent for two, would not recommend it for more than this as it would be rather crowded.

We had a Wynnster Jupiter 5 which we loved but it didn't have mudflaps and seemed a bit lightweight for early or late season camping. The Coleman Bispace 500 has very similar dimensions and layout but just seems a bit more substantial. It has held up well in atrocious weather and is reasonably straightforward to erect. When we first got it, it was one of the larger tents on site but now looks quite small compared to the monsters used by families. I'd say it was spacious for two people, Ok for three adults but would be crowded for more. I agree that it makes sense to have a large stand up living area and the reduced height in the bedroom means less airspace to keep warm as well! We have found problems with the zips getting caught in the flaps on one side, especially if trying to get out quickly at night. In fact last weekend we ended up having to cut the fabric! The other problem is water pooling on the canopy then pouring in through the doorway as there is no satisfactory deflection. I see Outwell seems to be addressing this problem with rainsafe doors. Overall we have been very pleased with this tent and would certainly recommend it.

Not usually one to make snap decisions I bought this tent the day before going on a two week family camping trip to France! I'd actually gone into the shop to buy a new inflatable mattress, but couldn't resist the half price sale sign. 3000 hydro head, storm flaps, may have seemed excessive for the vendee, but we did intend to use it for weekend uk trips too, and the brochure pictures promised a flow through of air if required (something we didn't have with our previous dome and lived to regret in the August heat).

Seven years on and I've no regrets whatever. We have camped in different parts of France and the UK every year since and the Coleman has stood up well to all we've thrown at it, including the Jura thunderstorms, and Isle de Re crosswinds with never a hint of failing. Sizewise it has been big enough for 2 adults plus 2 small kids: room to stand/sit/cook in the main dome; and with all sleeping on one double plus one single lilo in the pod and room for bags inside too; yet packs up to fit in a Golf (with topbox) with everything else needed for a fortnight. Only last year did we feel the need to upgrade to a canvas frame tent to give us more room, as the kids now bring much more stuff and invite their new found friends round. No doubt we'll continue to use it for weekend trips as it's still quick and easy to pitch and strike.

Ours is the earlier version, with no windows. We've now used it for a total of 70 plus nights, and it still in near-perfect condition. Brilliant in rain, and not too difficult to pitch in wind if you hold it down first with a couple of guy-lines. We like the way you can hitch the door up and make an awning when the sun is shining. We camped on Black Isle (Rosemarkie) in a howling wind and observed how the Bi Space 'bends' with the wind but does not shift. A brilliant tent for two, sometimes three, not more (we take a lot of stuff)

We absolutely love our Bispace 500. It has withstood the most terrible of weather conditions from galeforce winds to torrential rain storms. We have more than enough room for 2 adults and like the fact that you can stand upright in the living room. Only downfall is the small window but the dual doors more than make up for this.

Ours too was an ebay bargain. (Ł 62,00) and as new. We found it very easy to put up, not having ever put a tent up before in my life and not having a garden to practice in first I was a little nervous. No worries there it was so simple and the instructions were fairly self explanatory. There were 2 of us and we found it ample space. Wouldn't recommend more that 3 in it though in spite of it being a 5 berth. The bedroom is very roomy allowing us to put the porta potti in there too so we had 'en suite'

Headroom is excellent and plenty of room to stand up ( essential if you have to cook inside) There were a couple of very windy days at Shell Island and it stood up to the gale force with perfectly. I would recommend using all available guidelines in extremely windy conditions but if you do that it will bow a bit like it should but will not budge!

Very good starter tent and we hopefully will get many happy holidays from ours. As a note, the second time we had erected our it was 1 hour from taking it out of the car to putting the kettle on and having a brew.Sorted!

All the Bi-space range pitches flysheet first with the aid of colour coded poles and sleeves.The Bi-space,Trispace,Quadspace,Sahara and Savvanah range of tents feature mudflaps which can be rolled up to allow plenty of ventilation into the tent on those warm summer days or they can be pegged down to help stop rain and wind entering the tent.
