Great tent, easy to put up and very durable, also plenty of space though the addition of the Coleman awning made it even better. We have had many tents including trailers and large frame tents, this is the best in terms of ease of use. Although it would be OK for a family of four I would definitely recommend the extra awning to make the space even more generous.

We adore our Coastline deluxe 4 tent. We did a lot of research before purchasing a tent as we were returning to camping 8 years after selling our VW camper! (We're 2 retired/semi-retired folkies!) We have not been disappointed! We bought the tent with the canopy & footprint in 2011, but only started using it last year (long story!). Our friends have all made complementary remarks about its design when on site!
There are only 2 of us & it's perfect in size and layout for us. The canopy gives a sheltered outdoor area. Since taking the photo we have bought a Coleman windshield and it turns the area into a lovely outdoor room. We also have a carpet in the living area & have 2 large picnic rugs in the bedroom area that fit the separate compartments exactly or touch edges to provide through carpet when the divider is removed to give one area. We tend to use the inner tent as one area as we can get our camp beds in, 1 on each side, creating an area to stand & dress. It also enables us to have a camping cupboard in the bedroom area for clothes. We love the roll down windows. We don't have the water ingress problem that some report as our 2011 model has a zip along the bottom of the front door.
The only drawback is the lack of hanging loop for a light, but we have a lantern that is kept on the small table. We haven't found another solution as the inner tent hanging loops look insubstantial to hang a camping lamp from.
All in all we are extremely pleased. We've window-shopped other tents since & still feel this is the best tent for us. We're looking forward to camping more this year & have at last joined the website because of its helpfulness in looking at all things camping!

Bought this tent as our first family tent with 2 young kids (1 and 3) after a lot of research. We had it for 2 years and used it about 6 times for long weekends at the beach. I loved it, solid, sturdy and very straightforward to put up. We never used the sleeping area divider, we were able to fit a double airbed, single airbed and a travel cot in. It didnt leave much room to move but what do you expect. Really liked the zip up windows, very tidy and practical. We got the Coleman carpet in the 2nd year, made a huge difference to the comfort levels in the tent.
We have since sold this to a very happy buyer in pristine condition and upgraded to a six man air tunnel tent. Main reason for selling was space; limited living area space esp with kids. Would also of liked the option of second entry door.
Overall, I think this tent was an excellent first tent when we weren't prepared to spend huge money to see if it was for us. It never let us down with leaks or poles, so quality is excellent.

We bought this tent for two of us, opting for a 4 person tent so we could use one compartment as a bedroom, and the other for storage (and potentially a portable toilet if needed). One thing we felt was better on the Coleman tent, as opposed to other makes was that the bedroom compartments and separated by fabric that zips all the way round, turning them into two different spaces. Some tents we looked at just had a thin sheet of fabric clipped in with many gaps between the two rooms. All bedroom compartments have a fly screen as well.
The tent itself is easy enough to pitch with two people (and possible with one). When pegging out the tent, it can be loose and saggy so just be sure to stretch it, at first we thought we were stretching it more than we should, but by doing so it was much more secure. There is a corner on the tent that we can never get smooth/taut, no matter what we try so don't think you've done anything wrong.
We bought the tent in a package with the zipped porch attachment and the carpet (a little added luxury). The extra porch is well worth it, it gives you extra living space and shelter which is perfect when you want to cook dinner. As previously mentioned in another review, the zip on this porch can come loose where it is attached to the tent, we solved that by using a carabiner, hooking it through the zip and then a loop of material on the pole. Although we thought the carpet was a bit of a gimmick at first, we've come to really appreciate it. It takes away that rustling sound every time you walk in the porch but more importantly, it makes the tent much warmer when it's colder. Plus when you're away for longer periods, it's nice to have the homely touch.
The living area has two windows on each side (with easy roll snappers)and then a window on the front door that you fold up to secure. Our only grievance with the front door is that it doesn't have a fly screen. Again we created a make shift solution, we bought a mosquito net and clipped it across the front of the tent, again using carabiner hooks. There are plenty of ventiliation points in the tent, and of course a gap for feeding through your electric hook up cable.
Overall, we live very comfortably in our tent when we go away. It folds away well, we even fit the additional porch in the tent bag now we're getting better at it. Well worth a purchase and it looks really smart.

We have only used this tent twice so far and are very happy with it.
The tent is fairly easy to pitch with two people but could also be pitched single handed if necessary.
So far the tent has kept the rain out and seems stable enough in strong winds (tested this out on the Isle of Skye last year).
The quality of the materials used seems decent enough and should hopefully prove durable for the odd weeks family camping.
We have also bought and use the Coleman canopy which really makes the tent much more useable and practical.
All in all very pleased and would definitely recommend this tent to anyone.

I am a single parent with a 6 year old. I can manage to put this tent up by myself and it allows me to have the room to stay comfortably with my child on our hols. We use the spare bedroom for the toilet & wardrobe and have plenty of living space for the two of us. There's also a zip up flap for the EHU cable and some excellent windows with self rolling blinds.
I recently bought the porch (which is a must) as it enables you to leave the outdoor furniture outside and gives good protection in the rain. (The zip can work loose so you do have to secure this in high winds). I understand there is also an enclosed porch available.
Overall, it is very robust in all weathers and the addition of the carpet + footprint makes it a bit cosier. Quality tent for price which looks smart on any site. I will be keeping this for a good few years :0)

Have used this tent for overnight and longer holidays-up to a week since 2010. Have the porch which is a great extra meaning you can keep all the chairs and tables outside.
We've encountered hail and rain and not got wet.
We're a family of 4 - the kids are 5 & 7 - its ok whilst they're small-may find it a bit small in v bad weather.
Has useful features like electric hole, vents all round, self rolling up side windows.
Pitching takes 2 of us 40 mins I'd say but we have had trouble here and had to fix the centre pole fixings more than once - its really tough to get that pole in. I should imagine if its windy it'd be quite tough too for 2 to hold it all in position once poles are in.

This is a great tent. Quick to erect with two people once you get used to it. The main technique is that you need to stretch the poles out to get it nice and tight in-between. Our front door does seal, wind did not flap in. We purchased this in 2012 and I notice a few slight differences to some other pictures. The self rolling windows are a nice touch. I've just purchased the add on porch to add extra outside and cooking space, this is a good price on Amazon at £30. Two adults and two small children made it cosy, I'm not sure about four adults.

Good luck quality tent easy to pitch and use the we have the zip on porch. Only negative is the door does not seal at the bottom so the wind does blow under. Stands the wind well and rain. I only takes us about 39min to pitch. Seems up well too doesn't leak even after being used many times. The great value tent all round lots of room I side too

We decided we needed a smaller tent than our Mojave 5 that we could take away on short stays and decided to buy the Coleman Coastline 4 deluxe, we chose this tent in truth mainly on the price.
We purchased the tent and got a free canopy which was an added bonus and all for £114.
The tent is light weight and good quality, we did find it very hard to erect and are still not sure where we are going wrong. However once it is up it is a good little tent, its not massively spacious but is just what we needed, it is a 4 man tent but there is 2 of us and I would say you would struggle to comfortably get more people in it than that along with all your camping equipment.
The tent is very tall and my husband who is over 6ft can stand up comfortably in it, we have a zip at the bottom of the front flap and therefore haven't had the problems other people have had.
We definitely have problems putting it up and getting it to zip up once erected and are unsure why but hopefully the more we use it the easier it will be and hopefully we can work out what we are doing wrong but we don't believe it is a design fault, I'm pretty sure it is us.
We have invested in a footprint and highly recommend the canopy which with a windbreak along the sides acts as an extension to the tent.
The tent has several windows and the side ones have a metal piece inserted in them which means they roll up when you undo them which is a great feature.
No drafts, leaks or condensation problems. There is only 1 zip for electricity cables which could be a pain if your cable wont stretch to that side of the tent, there are air flaps on all 4 corners and a zipped area at the bottom which you can buy a fan to fit in to create extra air circulation.
Fantastic cheap tent if your looking for good quality, tall yet not a particularly large tent for two people.
