I would agree with the previous review and advise anyone with this tent to not attempt to erect it even in slight winds. The poles do not stand up to any strain whilst erecting. We have lost all but one pole. They are all badly damaged after erecting in slight wind. No doubt once erected and guyed properly this tent will withstand most of the UK weather. I believe. Kampa were unsympathetic and disinterested. Even if not willing to do anything I would have at least hoped for some empathy with our situation. We had a miseable night in a car and bought a small 2 man tent the next day. I hope this review can at least save others making this mistake. I still think this is a lovely tent and hope to be able to source some 2nd hand poles. The replacement ones are far too pricey.

This was the first 'proper' tent Ive owned (only had cheap festival lightweight tents). We purchased it second hand with footprint for Ł150 in perfect condition (albeit slightly dirty).

It is absolutely brilliant. Easy to put up with two people, although it does take some time pegging it all in. For some reason we have never quite managed to get the front end of the tent taut, but this wasnt a major issue.

The bedrooms are darker than the living area, which is perfect for late mornings in. They stayed lovely and cool in the sun. The mesh doorways are great for letting in air without all those pesky bugs.

I chose this tent for the covered porch area, which is a great place to store mucky wellies without getting your inner tent filthy!

The tent has survived scorching hot sun, torrential rain and strong winds. No leaks or damage! The poles and fabric all remain strong. Very happy camper!

We bought this tent when it came on the market. For the last four years it has been used three times a year, for six nights at a time. My partner and I plus two border terriers occupy it. Best tent we have owned, and it has had no problems at all in all sort of weather. We shall use it till it is no longer serviceable.

We researched a lot before we chose this tent and we are totally happy with it. There is plenty of room just for 2 of us, lots of ventilation and nets everywhere (great against midges!). Our first weekend away was very wet and windy and we were kept nice and dry (the carpet was wonderful!). The best thing though is the porch and our main reason for buying this tent. We don't know why more manufacturers don't do that. We were able to leave the door open and cook there whilst it rained cats & dogs. The sleeping compartment is definitely darker than our previous tent and that's great. There is just one snag. The tent comes with poles for the awning but you can't actually use them without taking the main guy rope down! We'll have to improvise next time by adding our own guy ropes on either side of the entrance. A fantastic buy all the same. Highly recommend it.

Bitterly disappointed to have wasted a significant amount of money on this tent. Don't get me wrong. The size is fantastic, and the head room is generous. My issue is the poles. The angled steel pole that holds the roof poles up is quite simply not fit for purpose. The slightest breeze when putting up or down has resulted in (so far) 3 collapsed poles at the angle. The tent has only been on four weekend camp trips since purchase so go figure - that's a fail rate of 75%. Kampa's customer service have refused to remedy the faulty poles. They also seemed to blame the weather. I would expect a Ł400 tent manufactured in the UK to withstand a typical British summer. Thankfully my partner is an engineer who managed to use tent pegs and tape to splint the poles into a state of functionality. Otherwise it would have been a very uncomfortable sleep in the car on our trip to Ardnamurchan.

We have a few (too many) tents, and we keep coming back to this one for our holidays. The side door is very well designed, and the material feels very durable and well stitched together. The bedroom has a divider to make two rooms, and also has the ability to zip out one side and roll up to give extra room inside. We also have the optional canopy extension is very useful for watching the world go by if / when it rains. It has stood up well to some testing winds that brought down our windbreak.

Fantastic tent.

The 3 pole flexi / steel combo works a treat. Gives stability and a real sense of security in high winds.

My husband & I can get the tent up and pegged in less that half an hour. You can really feel the quality of the flysheet, design and general stitching / manufacture. I actually think the quality is better than that of our large Outwell.

The darkened inners meant that for the first time ever my children slept later than 7am when camping. A serious bonus.

An ideal weekend tent for 2 adults + 2 kids. We will strongly consider Kampa when the time comes to replace our large Outwell.

At six feet tall and 58 years old I decided the time for crawling around a two man tent trying to put my pants on was over. After looking at many tent makes the Kampa range stood out for their quality feel, and the spacious Frinton - that I can stand up in throughout, was an easy choice. It can be put up by one person, but two, as in all things makes life easier. Plenty of clear panels for light, mesh panels to catch the bugs, and a porch to leave the muddy bits in. I've yet to buy the canopy but it's on my shopping list. Bring on the weekends.

Just spent a damp week in North Wales in ours kept us cosy & dry, We also purchased the front vestibule for the tent which didn't faulter in the stronger gusts of winds we had one morning. Superb quality tent (we also have a caravan awning made by the same company) pitching was easy with plenty of room for 2 adults only slight niggle was the zipped entry for the electric cable could maybe do with being just slighter longer for ease of putting the connecting plug through!

We required a small family tent for the annual holiday, we also needed to take into consideration the times I would use it on my own. I have pitched this tent 5 times on my own never without a problem, it takes me about an hour from start to finish, that's all pegged out and cup of tea made. All poles are colour coded so no mistakes, the side porch is such an advantage when there is heavy rain you can take shoes etc off, before entering the tent saving the carpet from getting wet. Lots of ventilation and openings, worth spending a bit more to get fantastic quality and lots of enjoyment
