Worst quality of finishing I have ever had.
I have had 2 of them:
- first: broken windows foil
- second: badly sewing of the zipper (no possibility of closing) + hole in the wall.
Tent design OK but quality very, very poor.
I have used one of them for 2 weeks in Croatia so difficult to evaluate in rain condition. But it looked to be waterproof.
Price acceptable but I would prefer to add few $ and have good quality tent.
I will go for Outwell next time.

This was our first tent and did not have much experience/knowledge of tents apart from knowing to get a 'sewn in groundsheet'. We fell in love with all the windows and how light it was inside, however, we didn't realise at the time of buying it that the windows and door did not have a fly sheets or a zipper running along the bottom of the door - there are just 2 small air vents at the front of the tent and one in the bedroom area/back of tent allowing a breeze through.
We used it happily for 3 years, unfortunately a tent that was big enough for 2 adults and an 11 year old is not big enough for 2 adults and a fast growing teenager.
The bedrooms will only take a double and a single blow up bed with only a tiny walkway between if both beds are pushed up to the walls, I have never been able to zip the bedroom partition down completly as it overhangs the double bed by a few inches. There is also a small problem of the bedroom wall hanging in your face unless you sleep with your head next to the living area.
It is a perfect tent for a couple going away on their own - the living area is more than adequate for 2, but very cosy for 3.
We replaced the Boston in 2012 for a bigger tent, but it still has been used this year when there is a surcharge for bigger tents on a site we wish to stay at overnight.
After 3 years of heavy use it has not needed any repairs, although we did buy sturdier tent pegs immediately and tied a small flag round the front central rope to stop ourselves from walking into it. The tent itself still looks as good as it did when it was first bought.
Would I buy it again? For a couple on their own it is perfect, but with a child I think we should have gone for a bigger tent from the start.

A nice roomy tent. Plenty of space if the weather is bad and you need to prepare food in the living space. Really bright due to the large windows. The sleeping area is large and a good height to stand if you are quite tall.
This tent is very easy to erect even in windy weather. The pegs aren't the strongest but we have found that with most tents we have owned and usually need to upgrade to better ones.
One draw back we have seems to be getting it lined up so that we can zip up the outer flap and the inner flap. Once we have tightened the guys we struggle with the zips and they look like they are straining and going to rip.
The small porch overlap is a great idea when it's raining and stops rain running in when you open the outer flap. If camped the right way we have used it to keep muddy boots under too instead of bringing inside.
Could do with a fly sheet to the outer flap for those days when it's hot and you need the ventilation.
We are really pleased with this tent and would really recommend it.

Bought this after much debate as when looking this one ticked all of our boxes. We bought this for quick weekends away when its not worth tugging a caravan.
This tent is ideal for
- something quick and easy to pitch and pack away.
- large enough for 2 adults and 1 tall teen for a couple of nights.
- all in one pitch style with a sewn in grown sheet.
- small enough to chuck in the boot.
- tall enough for hubby and son to stand up in.
- porch/living area is just large enough to sit in comfortably when the weather is poor.
The deal decider was the porch canopy to keep rain out. It works a treat too and I am now happy we went for this tent.
The only downside which is why I only give 9 out of 10 is the lack of a flyscreen on the door.
I would definitely recommend this tent and must be good as its converted hubby back to some tenting after years in caravans and folding campers.

After a 10 night stay in this tent (summer 2011) with various weather conditions I can now add a further review, with the proviso that I still have had no experience of this tent in winds higher than 4 gusting 5 Beaufort.
Note: we fitted velcro to the bottom of the tent door to keep it wind & insect proof (at some point we will add zips to make it animal proof as well).
Pros:
Fully water proof after a night (14hrs) of rain, where 10hrs was heavy & continuous. Not a single drop of water came from the tent wall/roof. All seams/zips fully waterproof even in driving rain (see note above).
Standing room height in central areas, in 6ft, it eases the back.
The large windows are great, especially in wet/cold/windy weather. Sitting there on the camping table, snug, enjoying a bottle of wine/hot drink, whilst playing cards, on a rainy night watching the rain stream down the windows - brilliant.
Tidy pockets - do not overfill or overload though!
Footprint - the underfloor of the tent was wonderfully clean, that way no dirt was transferred to the tent fabric when we came to put it away.
Carpet - kept our feet warm on the cooler nights & could be removed for cleaning.
Lighting hanger & power ties - worked fine.
Power entry zip - worked fine.
Tent & Pole weight - lightweight.
Easy to put up,
- took 15mins to choose tent site & peg out of footprint.
- took 15mins to put the outer up.
- took 15mins to put inner bedroom up & lay carpet.
- took 30minutes to put canopy extension up.
- took 15minutes to put GreatWall windbreak up
Generally (see note above) - warm and dry in bad weather, coolish in warm weather.
Cons:
That door really should have had zips on it to seal from wind/rain/insects and animals. Waking up at 4am to hear foxes sniffing around in your living area is not OK. Slugs, snails and thousands of insects every night getting into your tent might be amusing the first night, but the novelty soon wears off.
That middle rope in front of the doorway - it was really annoying to keep tripping into it. Could 2 be put to the sides? If not then at least make it bright florescent yellow and luminous.
Yes, this really is not a 4 man tent, unless someone volunteers to sleep in the living area. 1 double and 1 single airbed only in bedroom(s) with just 14inches to spare.
Problems opening and closing door zips,
- You must pitch the tent with the doors zipped closed & be careful not to tighten the ropes up too much.
- Loosen the ropes in line with the inner bedroom fixing or you'll never get the bedroom doors to zip up. Keeping the tidy pockets free from heavy items and only a very lightweight light (e.G. 20w tube) on the lighting hanger will help there also.
Do NOT put TOO much weight on the roof/wall (e.G. In the pockets) as this can pull down and overstress the rather thin tent poles. This will ease zips and ensure you do not wake up with the tent collapsed upon you one night. If you trip/fall whilst inside the tent - NEVER grab the tent structure/fabric for support! Be careful not to overstretch the floor space by adding too many items to it which in turn will cause stress on the walls.
Suggestions to the manufacturer:
- Give those outer door bottoms some zips!
- What about a power entry zip on the other side also (+ cable ties)?, power hookups can be on the tents right or left side and wasting 6+ft of extra cable might just be 6ft too far, shoving the lead under the tent, after its pitched, is not the solution.
- Make the bedroom support points adjustable on the edges or sort out the zip closure problems, its too tight now, creaking zip seams when ropes are slack give that fact way.
- Beef up the tent poles a little if possible, those tidy pockets and that lamp hanging point need to be supported by something a little more sturdy! An extra 0.5Kg on the poles might do, an extra pole or just thicker poles?
Overall - I love this tent - but it could be better and there is at least one glaring design flaw (outer door lower zips addition issue) and another (bedroom/lighting/tidy pockets support issue) which would (or should) have been found out by someone had actually using the tent (EVT) before its design (DVT) was approved for production.
I might buy the 6 man version (as we have all the extras) to give us extra living space, as we lost a lot of time moving the cooking equipment in and out of the tent 2 meal times a day, but the Outwell Nevada XL looks a better buy to me, and I like beige/sand/olive tent colours.

This is a pretty nice tent. We use it between the two of us but we will have our first baby next year and will be using it then too.
Things I like about the tent:
- The windows out on to the world. Great when its raining
- Quick and easy to put up
- Lots of storage
- Tall so you can get changed standing up
- Good value
Things I don't like about the tent:
- Not enough venting for very hot days and nights.
- Doesn't have fly netting on the main door
I would really recommend this tent. It is excellent for British camping. I think it will be less useful when I take it back to Australia where it will only be brought out in winter and crossover months.

We purchased this tent while on holiday last year. We have a 6 birth tent and thought this smaller one would be better for the two of us.Don't think there would be enough room for 4 people but plenty for 2. We had a double blow up settee in the living room and a table with a single cooker on just for the weekend. Had the bedroom as one room with beds in and plenty of room for dressing.Overall quick to put up and quite a nice light tent, might get the canopy for a bit extra space outside.

We got this tent for TOURING, as its a lightweight easy-up/down tent for 3 of us, with the optional flexibility of a canopy. We bought all the extras (footprint, carpet and Great Wall Windscreen).
Due to illness, we had only a 24hr rainless, windless and uneventful stay in it. We intend to use it on the 2011 holiday so will report more then.
As it was, the main tent pitched in 15 mins (1 worker + 1 to help raise the tent when the poles were in) and I am sure that one (experienced) person could have done it all on their own in 30 mins, easy.
Our weather was cool and overcast, so I guess I would have to agree that insect mesh in the windows would be useful on a hot day. But the plastic windows must be zipped in/out if so, as its warm and cozy the way it is now.
The tent fabric looks OK for a light weight, and everything fitted and was correct. So the build is good. After seeing the pegs, I used another set for the guide ropes (just in case), though the one they supply are OK to hold the base down (at least).
I'd say the sleeping chamber is a bit too small for 4 adults, unless you are on the ground/mats but still a squeeze. Its probably fine for 2 sub-teen kids + 2 adults. But extra use could always be made of the main living area at night and shove all the bedding in the sleeping chamber during the day. We stacked ours all up on the double air bed during the day leaving room for clothes.
We only used a single (child) and a double (2 adults) airbed and it was tight. I reckon 2 double airbeds probably won't fit.
We've not used the canopy or windscreen yet. But will report again later.

This is the first tent I have owned and have just started camping.
Having gotten a dog, holidays away will be limited to where I can take him for the next few years and I bought this tent so we can go off and find new places to walk and enjoy the outdoors.
I looked at several tents and chose this one as both sleeping compartments are side by side and I can open them into one to accommodate all of my belongings in one area.
There was sufficient room for my single airbed, holdall and dog cage in the sleeping compartments, but I would agree with a previous review that it isn't really big enough for 4 people.
I have to disagree, though, with the suggestion that it takes 2 to pitch it, I manage it myself easily in around 20 or 30 minutes.
I camped recently in north east Scotland on the coast and the tent survived a very windy night. Yes, the tent pegs are quite flimsy and did bend during it, I will take the advice and get better ones.
While it is perfect for all my needs I rated it just 9 as it would be rather cramped with more than 2 people in it.

My partner and I used to have a small 2 man tent which was ok as we only go camping once a year over a weekend. But we've decided that we want to start going away camping more, so we ditched our old tent and bought this one on a bit of a whim. And so far we're very pleased with it!
The sown in groundsheet is fantastic, we survived a massive downpour and stayed completely dry. The windows are great too, they really help to eliminate the claustrophobic feeling you get in most tents.
A couple of downsides though:
1) I wouldn't really say this is a 4-man tent, there isn't enough living space for 4 and I don't think it would be possible to fit 2 double airbeds in the sleeping area.
2) We had a little trouble putting it up, (this is likely to be our fault rather than the tents, but the silver rings you locate the end of the fibreglass poles in don't seem that secure. The tent hasn't collapsed at all, but I don't see how you get the front two poles in the one hole, if anyone knows where to find any more in-depth instructions, I'd really appreciate seeing them as the ones provided don't have diagrams and are rather sparse.
That aside though, the tent only cost us £109.99 from Millets and I think that's a bargain price for 2 people starting out.
Would thoroughly recommend it!
