We bought this tent in a sale in 2007 for well under £100 and took it on a couple of camping trips to sites in N Devon where we pitched on an incline and quite rocky ground as well as another site where we had rain and blustery conditions all night long. This summer we spent two weeks in it at Treen Farm Cornwall where we had some very windy conditions and it survived them all. If you are buying this tent now it will probably be second hand and from Ebay or elsewhere: before I get in to the nitty gritty of the review, I recommend asking the seller to confirm the tent is free of mould and mildew, having seen a number of posts from people who have bought off Ebay only to find they have a tent which is mouldy/mildewy… all a bit yuck if it is not your mould and mildew.
On to the tent: it is supposed to sleep 4 adults and one smaller being but to my mind this would be a squeeze. My husband and I feel it offers just enough space for the two of us: we are both tall and at the moment, not wide! We can stand up in it at certain points quite comfortably. The tent pitches outer first and has two crossover poles and a bit of a tunnel area at the front for the living area with another shorter pole. I do not know why but I feel when this is pitched it is always a bit twisted and out of line which then affects the hanging of the inner, making it stretch too far. I think this is something we need to sort out and is not down to the tent. We have removed the bit that separates the two sleeping areas to make one so we can put in our mattress at the most comfortable angle for any inclines. This allows lots of space round the sides for your bags and bits and pieces. There is a loop hanging from the centre of the inner and I suspend one of those lightweight coily reading torches from it to give a bit of light at bedtime. There are useful pockets on the inner for you to put your small items like watches, glasses, bling at night. The inner has two doors and each can be unzipped to leave just the fly-screen in place if preferred. The inner has a sewn in bathtub style SIG which we really like. The living area is a good size: the ground sheet here is not sewn in but we did not have too much trouble with water ingress from this. There is a side door which can be zipped back or a front door which can be made into a canopy with the supplied poles. There are curtained plastic windows either side of the canopy and another opposite the side door with a curtain for privacy: none of these has a bug mesh as they do not unzip. There is a ventilation bit on the canopy and one either side of the dome which can be open or closed to suit.
In terms of stability it would not stand up to very testing conditions, but neither it would seem, would other more expensive makes. We arrived at Treen Farm, Cornwall the day after they had had winds gusting at 70mph which had wreaked havoc on the tents there, all but emptying the campsite. It was only because we had a sheltered spot and used windbreaks that we survived a few nights where gusts hit 50 mph. In these winds I found the tent flapped about a lot and was quite noisy but hoped the flexing meant it wasn’t subjecting the poles or fabric to too much stress. We had heavy though not torrential rain with no leaks. In normal conditions though (and really I have to ask do we get these any more?!) it would be perfect for two. We were able to sit in the living area of an evening, all zipped up against the elements and enjoy a game of cards or just read a book. We don’t have lots of camping equipment like cupboards etc , just a small foldaway table and two foldaway chairs: all these plus our coolboxes and box with our plates and other food items fitted just fine. We used an old bathmat at the front to try and minimize dirt and mud into this area ( a bit tricky given the weather was wet on quite a few days.) Also recommend using another groundsheet under the SIG. I finally cracked how not to have a cold airbed: used my self inflating double mattress, non slip mat on top, airbed on top , old duvet on top for padding then our sleeping bags and normal pillows and was very warm and cosy. I have looked at upgrading to a better tent and was quite surprised by how good it is in comparison to the offerings at well known outdoor equipment stores: just be aware of its limitations and you can’t go wrong!

Represents really good value for money. Never leaked, nice living space, pretty good design although the front section tends to struggle in the wind and the mud can get in quite easily - no 'bathtub porch'. It doesn't pack down well, and it weighs a tonne for what it is. However for a pretty tough budget family tent or a small group festival tent it's a very good buy. The poles aren't the best in all honesty, but they are a step up from the really poor budget ones that snap if you sneeze on them.
I'd recommend this tent for small family 'campsite' camping 2 adults 2 kids that maybe camp 1-2 weeks a year. You'll probably want to get a peg mallet and some half decent pegs before you set-off.

Bought this as my husband and I's first tent and got it as part of a starter set. Used it for a fortnight's holidays in Cornwall in (mainly) glorious weather. It was a doddle to put up and take down, had plenty space for a double air mattress plus dressing space in the bedroom pod. Liked the light airy feel of the living space and it felt quite roomy with the porch door up. We did experience one storm and it stood up well to it. The only thing I would point out is it is very important to pitch it with the cross over poles squarely aligned to each other and at an angle to the wind to allow the load to be spread. We cooked inside no problems.
Have now replaced with a larger tent as we camp with our kids.
All in all, a good basic starter tent with good light and head height.

We have camped a couple of times in this tent, generally in fair weather. So far we've had no experience of leaky zips! The living space is great and easy to walk trough. We did find the dividing curtain in the bedroom area a little flimsy and pointless so wound up sleeping with our daughter without it, which was fine. It's very simple to erect, you don't really need the instructions. Its also pretty light for the size of it. We have notice that some of the stitching on the pole lines is liable to breaking but this hasn't resulted in anything other than a cosmetic flaw. We also had a pole split but that was easily remedied with a little gaffer tape! Generally, I would say as a tent for a young family doing a bit of camping or festival going it is great. If you're a more hardened camper, out every other week, you may want to try something more heavy duty. We, however, are very pleased with our purchase and found it good value for money.

This is a fantastic tent. We bought it as our first tent in 2003 and is still going strong. We have never had any problems with leaks and have put this tent up in a gale and I mean a gale. And cooked inside and no leaking or tent falling down. We have replaced the shock cord in the poles last year but the tent is used regularly and was 6 years old. We only use it for 2 people and it gives plenty of space and standing height.
I feel that perhaps some of the other comments where people are having problems may be due to the way the tent is pitched. You must rememeber that it must not be too loose or too tight as this will cause leaking and tears. Also different pegs need to be used for different types of ground. We have used this in soft ground and also very rocky and still no problems. The tent can be pitched very quickly which is very useful in bad weather.
I would recommend this tent to anyone starting as it has been exceptional value to us and is still going strong. It's such a shame it is not made anymore

This tent collapsed on its fourth night of use last summer. The poles ripped through the tent sleeves leaving the tent unusable. It was wet and windy, but on a sheltered inland campsite. Its height obviously put it at greater risk than other tents I've owned. The tent pegs supplied with it are the lightest I've ever used and I suspect they came adrift although pushed into soft ground as far as possible.
Afterwards I found, hidden in the tent cleaning instructions (!), advice to use heavy duty tent pegs (not supplied) when using the tent in windy conditions.
If you are going to use this tent in slightly windy conditions then you should definitely buy heavy duty tent pegs and use them . Or risk sleeping in the car!

Bought the tent second hand from a friend who found it a big for one. As a couple, we find it really useful because the sleeping area can be divided into two so (as someone else has said on this site) we use one side to sleep in and the other for clothes/food storage.
We have cooked in the living area in bad weather, because the roof is high. It is light and airy in the living area because there are several windows (with optional covers for privacy).
We like to raise the sun canopy to create extra space and it is also good to hang towels etc from it to dry. We also sit under it to get it out of the sheet.
The fitted groundsheet is good as some tents don't have these as standard.
We've never experienced the 'leaky zip' which is mentioned on this site.
A great mid-range tent which we intend to make lots of use of!

Not a bad little tent.
We use this one for weekend camping along with an add- on canopy to extend the living space, We get our 3 chairs and a cupboard in the living area so space is quite good.
There is a large window on the side wall and 2 additional windows at the front so the tent feels light and airy (TBH this was one of the reasons we bought it) The bedroom is a good size that would comfortably sleep 4 people and has good standing height.
The tent does not 'look' as well made as other brands that we own but it does the job just as well, is easy to pitch and would be a great starter tent for anyone starting the hobby.

I bought a 'easy camp milano 500' tent earlier this year and its probably been the best £75 I've ever spent. Great tent, cheap enough, plenty of room and does a good job ,and I shall be getting away regularly in it. The only downside I find is that although the tent is supposed to be a 5 berth I would say its a 4 berth realistically.

We owned this tent for three years and used it about 30 times in this country and around Europe, for short breaks and longer touring holidays. We bought it from a camping superstore so the price was very reasonable (about £60 I think) and it was worth it's money many times over. We could pitch the tent in 10 mins which is handy in bad weather.
We never had a problem with the leaking door which other reviewers have mentioned but our tent finally succumbed to a summer storm in Suffolk which broke the poles and tore the tent (yes it was horrendous but thankfully we were in the pub at the time!). We gave it the last rites and moved onto a Coleman but I still miss my Easyspace tent. They're light, cheap to buy but still durable.
