Second review, bit late for Aug 2017. We visited n.Yorks in mid august, when the rain hit! Camping half way between Filey and Scarborough, we endured heavy downpours so bad that the drain covers in the town lifted, it made the national news!

How did the tent perform? Brilliantly, not one leak in the main tent, some windblow between the gaps where the porches connect, it was cold weather but we had heating so kept cosy, plenty of room for two kids to play in the dry. Again, a superb tent. One issue that all tents have is rolling them up to get in the bag again, this is no exception, just more tent to manouvre so harder work packing.

Love this tent, pity my wife hates camping !

Got the tent after a nightmare scenario with a new Horizon 8, ended up with the meridian 10 and the side porch.

Checked online and found a fantastic YouTube video of how to erect in 5 minutes and boy does it work (not to the 5 minutes the company erecting it show but I put it up alone in 25 mins from getting out of the boot), however the down side is that occasionally the storm flaps drip a bit, easily solved with some seam sealant, and if your considering the 'Universal porch' it doesn't fit correctly and you have to extend the straps that go over as they are not long enough.

All that said has been a fantastic tent for us with bags of room and useful nooks and crannies

Bought tent, footprint, closed porch and loads of pegs off ebay for £200. Great condition. Also got a wynston open porch that fits , from ebay for £1.99, yes, less than £2 !

Used them all once last summer 2014, downside was sheer groundspace needed , a super site 7mx7m for the big cross it makes with the closed porch at the back as a kitchen, the open porch at the front and the tent sideways on. But the space!,! AMAZING. Bedrooms one end for wife, self , 1 big enoughfor our king sized inflatable and other for two singles for kids, bedrooms other end as storage and playroom. Middle was big enough for inflatable settee, chairs, table with tv and not cramped at all. Height for me at 6,2' was brill. The closed gelert porch was excellent but the gaps previously mentioned are a nuisance but livable. The open wynster porch was useful and strangely, fit closer than the gelert porch, less gaps!

With carpets throughout, footprint for main tent, light foam floor tiles for porches, very roomy but very cosy. Warm but well ventilated. Invested in some delta pegs. V.Good advice from other users. Electric fluorescent tube box another good tip for decent lighting in a tent this size. Also have a Vango icarus 500, another great tent. Ideal for weekends as this one best suited to a week min.

With practice, from unpack to carpets down, porches up, two people can do in 45mins, one in an hour.Hard work for one but doable.

Overall. Brilliant tent.

Fantastic tent for our family of 6.

Very easy to erect and lots of space. A feature the kids love is the adjustable bedroom divider.

The sewn in ground sheet is a good feature. Comes in two handy bags.

This is our first tent and we haven't got any real problems with it. When we upgrade it will be from the same range.

Fantastic tent!

Had a large podded tent in 2008 which did not survive wind on the East Coast so bought this tent (I think in 2009). Much quicker & easier to put up. Can do very quickly now!

Love the all sewn in - even the mother-in-law will camp with us!

I struggle to reach the attachments for the bedroom at the highest points, but that's what tall husbands are for.

So roomy inside and we can split the children up into different rooms or just use one side and have a big play area where the other bedroom should be. Have bought the carpet for extra comfort and I am considering buying a porch to stop the rain coming in when open.

Highly Recommend this tent.

Have had this tent since 2011, from the start you can see the quality, the bags are made very well, the tent is easy to put up I can do it on my own with a porch all pegged out in around 30-40 min,

Peg out the corners on one end insert all the poles and pins , put all the plastic clips to the poles on the side you are going to push against ,this will stop any poles from splitting(we learnt this as even with two erecting if you apply to much pressure, the pushing can split the poles on the opposite side, probably my overeagerness lol), as you insert each pole pull each pole so they rest on top of each other so the tent is concertinaed up together, you will then have the five poles which you can pick up together then walk with them separating the tent as you go, peg out put in bedrooms job done.

I am just over six foot so this probably helps!

We have used the tent six times now, stood up to all the weather we have had, only leak we had was water blowing through one of the end vents which we had left open, no rips or tears very good quality, the porch is a must however when its raining as the doors do not have a eyebrow canopy, however the 2012/13 model does which I have found for £270 online at the moment a bargain for the price I think.

Space is great we are a family of six and the boys have one side to them selves we have the other side and use our small bedroom for all our storage and the porch for cooking, The living space is large, it has a lantern fixing and electrical zip and storage pockets all great.

We have purchased the carpet and footprint which helps with comfort and keeping the tent clean for packing

Great tent Great looks Great space What more could you want!

Outstanding appearance & ease of pitching. Other campers commented on me pitching the tent alone & unaided which, due to good design features, is very easy - credit to the tent, not me. I got a footprint groundsheet & a porch for the second camping trip which really enhanced the tent's utility. This is tent number 6 owned & used in over 20 years of camping - it is the best by a long chalk. Bags of space, headroom, good ventilation and wind resilience when correctly pitched.

Fantastic Tent.

We have just returned from a very wet weekend in the Ribble Valley but this tent is the best we have owned.

Totally dry and a doddle to put up.

It took me and the wife no longer than 10 minutes on our first attempt. (this was due to the YouTube video we watched the night before and they did it in under 4 minutes. Putting away was no bother either.

The tent is a ten birth with bedrooms either side in a 3/2 at each end combination. We are a family of 4 so we only put up one end and our room was huge. A double mattress and still about 6'x4' space to dress etc.

The quality of the workmanship puts this tent way ahead of the previous other makes we have owned and I am sure it will last us years. We bought the porch to go with it but as we were only there 2 days we didn't bother putting it up. (we regret we didn't as the rain and mud was biblical) Over all this is a very big good quality tent and my only slight concern is it is very heavy but I will still give it 10 out of 10.

This is our fourth tent and we have used it for three holidays now it has taken everything that the Lakes, Dales and Northumberland could throw at it without any problems. It takes us about 1-1.5 hrs to put up with the porch. But is very spacious and has loads of room both headroom and room to eat/sleep. The only niggle we had was that water ran off the top of the tent and inside when you opened the door but the porch seems to have solved this for us and on the new model it now has a small canopy to stop this. Would definitely recommend this tent to anyone who wants a bit of space when they go camping , depending on how many there are of you ( there are four of us in a ten man tent!)but make sure you have plenty of room to transport it ( we now own a trailer).

Hi people I have just bought a Meridian 10. We are planning on going away in it soon, I thought I would ask what all the experienced campers think I should buy to help our life in a ten be a little better or more comfortable.I see some people have been talking about a porch where is a good place to buy one and at a good price, also whats the footprint ground sheet and again where is a good place to get one. Please send me and suggestions that you think I should do or I should by to make life that little better while camping.

Many thanks People
