I have the Beyond Lunar 3 which doesn't have a dedicated porch, and the porch for the Nebula 3 is impossible to find these days so after a lot of searching I thought this was the closest match sizewise. It is not a perfect fit, but with the addition of a couple of bungees for the guys it is fine. The colour is obviously not a match, but in a case of beggars can't be choosers I was more than happy. This porch allowed me to bring the wife and dog with the smaller tent, freeing up a lot of room in the car rather than bringing the Kalahari 8 for a 2 night camp. If you have a tent without a dedicated porch it is worth spending some time doing your research, and if you are happy not to have a perfect match then there may be a suitable alternative out there

Brought the horizon porch to give us extra space in our tent, which we used as a kitchen area and to put our wellies and coats in. Found it hard to put up first time taking us over two hours in windy conditions. Found it doesnt fit snuggly to the tent, gaps down sides where its meets tent. Also got to tie something to straps to get it over the tent. Had no problems with leakage and its worth buying as it gives you more space in your tent

Didn't think that it was very easy to get up at first and getting it tight and neat looking seems a bit of an art form and takes practise. I got better at it once I'd spoken to another camper who had sorted his out! Like other, tying something to the strap to throw them over the tent makes life easier. Lots of room, but the zips not great and now both front zips on ours have broken, nice big canopy though and certainly keeps things dry and stops mud from getting into the main tent (Horizon 8). Its benefits certainly outweigh the drawbacks though and, even with a Horizon 8, the extra space is very useful.

We've just got back from our first camping trip with our porch and all in all we're pleased with it.
It's very roomy - we had plenty of room for our camp kitchen down one side and a long table for food prep and the igloo down the other side.
It was really handy having somewhere for shoes to keep the main tent clean, as well as for a cooking area.
Good points -
- We liked the fact you can have the choice whether to have it fully enclosed with the door shut (which we did at night time), or have the door open or take the front off completely making it more of a canopy
- Very spacious
- Very handy in wet weather, it will stop rain coming in the main tent door
Minor niggles
- We found it awkward to get positioned correctly, at first we had a gaping hole each side, but we tried again the next morning and got it nearer the main body of the tent. I think you need to have the back legs sloping slightly backwards, so as to follow the contour of the main tent.
- Some lantern hanging points would be good, it wasn't too much of a problem for us as we had EHU and clip on electric lights which we clipped to the main tent poles inside the porch.
- it was windy one evening and we had to be careful that the sides of the porch didn't blow in and knock the stove lid down while cooking. Not too much of a problem as we never left the stove unattended anyway, just something to be wary of.
We found it relatively easy to pack away (easier than the actual tent!)
All in all, we're glad we bought one.

We recently bought this porch (together with the Horizon 6 and matching footprint). It's not my size (~6'8'/201cm), because my 5'5' girlfriend found that putting up the porch and getting the straps over the tent was very easy. The trick is throwing the straps over the correct segment of the tent (i.E. Outside the two tent poles that will be covered by the porch flap).
The straps that go over the tent (see the picture I uploaded) end in a T- or Y-shape, with one loose piece of strap going through an adjustable clasp. After trying to connect both ends to a tent peg, we decided to only use one end of the strap (the one that doesn't come out of the clasp easily when you pull on it).
The porch can be fit quite snugly to the tent if you set up the porch without tightening the two straps near the porch entrance, then first tightening the straps that go over the tent before finally tightening the straps near the porch entrance.
We had no problems putting the pins in the end of each of the porch's metal tent poles, but maybe we have a newer (2010) model that doesn't have as tight a fit?
I agree with the comment about the bottom end of the sides of the porch being loose and not keeping any animals out. Maybe I'll add another loop to put a tent peg through, about halfway between the two tent poles.
All in all, a good buy, even for the pretty high 90 pound price I bought it for (it was very hard to find) and it's a very nice way to prevent muddy boots or rain from coming inside the tent.
I agree with another owner that the black guy lines (shown as bright white in my pictures because of the reflective thread and the flash used) are very hard to see in the dark. That's why I already replaced a bunch of them with the standard Gelert bright yellow guy lines.

I purchased this porch to fit on the side of my Outwell Carolina, replacing the universal side extension which wasn't deep enough.
I didn't expect this to fit perfectly as it was designed for another model of tent, but, the fit wasn't too bad, just leaving small gaps at the sides which didn't matter to me, as I just wanted a sun/rain porch.
The size at 3.45 x 1.96 metres is ample, and a lot bigger than the genuine Outwell side extension. Another bonus is that its available in chestnut - a good colour match for the tent.
I found the porch quite easy to erect by myself, even in a gentle breeze.
I didn't like the black guylines at the sides of the porch, (they become invisible as soon as the light fades) so have since changed them for yellow. The grey straps at the front and back seemed a bit strange/different, but not much to be done about them anyway.
The porch was rigid & sturdy thanks to the steel pole structure.
The bag its packed in is a bit on the small side, making it a tight squeeze to repack it.
As seen in the photo,s I unzipped the front section as I only wanted a porch.
Overall, quite pleased with this, recommended.

We got one of these to go on our Horizon 6 and were reasonably pleased with it. It gave some very, very useful extra room for muddy shoes, cooking equipment etc. BUT the fit isn't very good over the tent and the elasticated sides don't fit snuggly against the sides. It would also benefit from having longer sides so that there is no gap around the bottom. Both of these issues lead to animals being able to get into this area, we had a fox in! The poor fit over the tent also caused a problem in the rather heavy rain we had during the night, but there were no leaks other wise.
All in all a valuable addition to the tent, the pros of the extra room outweighed the cons of the fit and the animals!

After the disappointment of having to return a faulty Sunncamp Verano DL canopy we were determined to source another porch to use as our kitchenette. (Once you've had the extra space, you can't live without it!) Luckiy the Gelert Horizon Porch came up trumps. The colour match was very close and therefore blended in much better with our Haven 800 tent. We tied a tennis ball to the straps that go over the roof to make life easier! The whole structure was up in less than 10 minutes! It was a fairly windy weekend that we camped, but the porch held up well and we had no problems with it. So much so that our neighbours were so impreesed that they have gone out and bought one too, but in blue and grey to attach to their Khyam Ontario 8.

We purchased this porch after a very rainy weekend in our Hi Gear Zenobia 6 tent (the same tent as the Gelert Horizon 6 but rebranded for Go Outdoors) with no where to store our wet shoes, clothes etc.
What I like about the porch is you can either zip open the door or you can zip off the entire front panel to leave just a canopy. The difference having the porch made to us was unbelievable, we had another room to store shoes, our kitchen equipment and also somewhere to cook and eat if the weather is more inclement.
I was apprehensive about putting the porch up after reading the other reviews and also some comments made on the forum but we didn't seem to have too much of a problem. The only downside we seemed to have was that one of the straps going over the top of tent seemed to pull the tent down slightly but as mentioned in one of the other reviews this is probably down to the centre pole on the tent being higher than the other pole you put the flap over. We probably also needed to slacken off the strap but like one of the other reviews we were trying to stop the wind from going between the flap and the tent.
Comparing the photo above with our porch, Gelert appear to have replaced the guy ropes at the front with straps, I'm not sure what benefit this has but I'm sure someone may know.
There is a gap between the sides of the porch and the floor but we didn't find that this caused us any problems.
I think if you have a Zenobia or Horizon tent then you would find this porch a very welcome addition.

Purchased this at the same time as our Horizon 8 as we'd read about the problems with the rain coming inside when going out through the main tent doors without it.
It's not the easiest thing in the world to set up I have to say. The tension straps across the front and rear poles ensure you don't get it set too wide or too narrow but also give you a headache when trying to get the sides to look half-decent when its pitched. Be careful when it's set up as well. Without anything placed over these straps they're a bit of a trip-hazard!
The fiddliest bit is getting the flap that goes over the tent in place and lined up. Several posts on the forum recommend attaching something soft but weighty onto the end of the guy-straps in order to throw them over the tent but alternatively just get someone reasonably tall to walk them round the end of tent. Once they're over the other side you need to get the elastic bits on each side of the flap to go over the ridges formed by the poles on the main tent. The right side goes over the centre ridge and the left side over the one next to it. You then anchor the straps down and go round the front to peg that down. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, there are no pegging points on the sides to the porch. As a result, unless you get it perfectly aligned and taut, these will billow and flap in the wind.
Summary
Pros: Very useful addition to the tent; adds space for cooking, muddy boots, drying clothes etc; stops rainwater coming in the main door if raining.
Cons: Not very easy to set up; fiddly to get aligned correctly (could be because the centre ridge pole is higher than the ones next to it?); no pegging points for sides at front.
Overall it's been a good purchase for the tent but just wish it was that bit easier to set up!
