We have now received 2 Faro 5s in a week, the first one had a tear in it, the second had a deep scuff which is unusable, plus 2 other scuff marks, plus 2 noticeable marks which are very big, and run the width of the door. This could be a lovely tent, and is a nice style with plenty of space, and the extra door is a bonus. However it is badly made, and it seems there is poor quality control, as these tents reach customers in such a bad state.

I have now used this tent. There are 2 of us and no pets or children. The following comments,
1 - I did manage to set it up by myself as a test run. There was no significant wind to deal with and a sunny day. Half an hour approximately for the main tent. Possible to do but more sensible with two. That was just the tent and not the canopy.
2 - We had a very wet weekend in the tent and mud. The tent did not leak. The full canopy was very useful in a couple of ways. First resolved the issue of water and the front door. Second gave that extra space and sort of kept the area a bit drier.
3 - I was told the quality issues were resolved in the second production run of this tent. While I did not find any major flaws I did note that the stitching for the sleeping pod was a bit sketchy in places. It was barely being held by the second line of stitching. I am thinking of returning it or will have to restitch it at some point.
4 - The doors, Yes I used the toggles and it was still a bit dodgy. The tent needs to be pitched fairly precisely for this system to work well. I am going to either add 2 more toggles on the larger door or try some velcro first.
I will use the velcro on the side door.
To be super picky one of the guy lines had the inner thread sticking out.
I had no issues with the quality of the main tent.
5 - Loads of space for two people and their stuff. We didn't bother with the divider. Not sure I would want to have 2 children and a dog or two with me in this tent though.
6 - Don't understand why they did not use zippers on the doors that have two sliders. You get a good stretch reaching for the zipper which is at the bottom of the door. An annoyance.
For the price this is a good bargain. The canopy is a recommended addition though our green tent and our green Wynnster Canopy are not the same shade of green. I knew this when I bought it.
There are a few niggles but the main function of the tent, staying up and keep you dry seem to work.
I give it 7/10 because of the minor quality issues, the system design for keeping the floor up and the zipper issue.
I am satisfied with the tent and it does meet my needs.

Right, I did say I would post back my findings in July last year but totally forgot. We stayed at stowford farm last year (second trip out in the tent) we had the new canopy we bought from Somerset camping and was great to do our cooking and keep kitchen type stuff out in it, providing that extra bit of space. It was raining buckets for a couple of days and not once did the tent leak, however some reviewers mentioned it leaks at the bottom of the front door because it's not stitched, yes that can happen if the wind/rain blows right in but we circumvented that by using the toggles (built specifically to do just this) to keep the groundsheet lip up inside the door which stops the rain coming in at the bottom, works perfectly! Other than that nothing to report on as the tent has been sat in our cupboard since last year and unlikely to be used for this year.

I spent far to long looking at reviews trying to decide which tent to buy and eventually settled on this one. The reasons for my choice were
A. Easy to erect.
Although the instructions say two adults I managed to put it up within a hour (from opening the bag to putting final tent peg in) in strong winds with a helpful four year old and hindering 3 year old.
B. Price
This was the second biggest factor and I felt that the price was good considering the HH. I also bought the footprint (you have to buy the Wynnster faro 500 footprint but it appears to be identical) I bought from Somerset Camping who were very helpful
C. Hydrostatic Head
I wanted a HH so that I could be braver about my choice of campsite. I haven't experienced rain yet but will update my review when I do.
D. Awning
Will update when I have used it
Other stuff
We camped in it on a chilly March weekend, it stood up well to the wind and the sleeping pod did retain heat better than some tents I have slept in. The condensation was a issue, we knew this would be the case as I sacrificed ventilation for warmth and a few drops did go into the sleeping area however it dried out quickly once we had increased the ventilation. On warmer nights I would leave the ventilation windows open.
As the previous reviewer has said the little toggles that make the groundsheet into a bath tub are fab and should keep all rain out it also stopped my dog from escaping although feel that a determined pup would still be able to get out.
All fitted nicely in bag after and so far delighted with tent. Will re rate and re review after our next trip

Bought this last year and to be honest I think its great.
I admit I did have a fault with the first one. We were camped on an RAF base and it was gale force wind. We went away to sort some aircraft for a few hours came back and the front had broken. The pole had snapped in two and gone through the fabric. I was extremely annoyed to say the least being it was the first time out of the bag, however after phoning the camping shop where I got it it was replaced free of charge the next couple days.
With the replacement me and my partner went for a weeks camping in the lakes. We pitched in the corner of the field and used the tough plastic yellow pegs because I felt the standard metal ones were not good enough.
It took us about 10 mins to pitch, the first night we had horrendous rain and gales, however we felt none of it in the tent. Nothing got wet at all, theres a couple of toggles on the front of the groundsheet that clip into the sides raising the lip of the groundsheet in a bucket effect, meaning the outside door fabric doesn't leak into the living areas. Reading people's reviews I think some have missed that.
Size wise, the main bedroom will take 3 and the other bedroom will take 2, but if your like us we used the main as a double airbed and the other as storage. It excells in both applications loads of room even enough to kick her out the bed!
The living area is spacious and roughly 2m in height, headroom wise Im 6'2 and I didnt bump my head. There was enough room to have 2 chairs either side of a the table we had up and the table had a 2 burner stove on so its a good size.
This tent is great in my opinion, I have only given it a 8/10 because there is a couple issues I have. I cant for the life of me figure out how to make the front part of the tent stay up on those two poles. (probs my ignorance) the only other issues I have are the pegs suck and the front door can be a windcatcher and blow in a bit; it easy sorted though by anchoring it to the ground.
All in all I would reccommend this tent, its spacious, your not gonna get wet (TRUST me on that one, I've never seen so much rain on one day, there was floods on the grass outside the tent, and we were dry!) and for the price its excellent. Also not that it really matters but myself and my partner have a Micra and it fit in the boot with space to spare, and at 14kg its not even that heavy to lift.

A great tent for a weekend break. To be fair if I was camping for longer I would like an inside kitchen area.
I managed to erect the tent on my own having had a trial run first in the garden. No problems.
The only downside is that in heavy rain the front floor area gets extremely wet on the floor. No leaks through the fabric of the tent.

Have been camping for years we chose this tent because it was the right size for a weekend and more importantly a Khyam. The best tent we have is a Khyam Traveller now an old model but still an excellent tent.
I have to say we were very disappointed. Out of the bag we found one of the pole cords had snapped. We spent a good half an hour in the rain threading six pole pieces back together.
That could be put down to bad luck, but the tent leaked. Showers over night leaked through the fabric onto the tent inner and a gust of wind in the morning meant that we didn't need to use the shower block as we were getting showered in the tent. Rain water was blown through the fabric.
We also bought the additional porch. A great concept and part of our rational for buying this model. Unfortunately because open to the elements at the end anything other than a flat calm meant we had take it down as it was extremely unstable. I guess we could have foreseen this problem but you like to think these problems have been thought through and suitable stability provided.
Also worth mentioning there were two, what looked like stamp marks on the tent fabric. Almost as if stamped in the factory? No idea what these were?
There was also a hole in the fabric down by the side door.
We have now taken this tent back. The suppliers didn't hesitate to refund our money. Apparently they have been seeing this model of tent returned all summer. I guess every tent manufacturer has a 'bad run' occasionally. We would still look at Khyam tents but would want to know a lot more about the tent before we bought it.

No colour coded poles, as per instructions.
Velcro on windows/ air vents not matched, so they would not fasten.
Brown marks on tent roof.
Poles snapped in the first medium strength wind.
Actual tent material excellent.

I have been camping now for 15 years and we down sized from the Vango Columbia 600 to this. While the tent is of good size and the canopy was brilliant and gives you that little extra space. We have so far returned 2 of these tents due to manufacturer faults. The first had the ground sheet stitched the actual tent wall, ripped on the other, one of the pole sleeves the stitching had missed altogether. The canopy had holes in in several places and a pull where the seam had been mis attached and pulled off. The second tent, we received, the zip part for the canopy was swinging in the breeze and further holes to the tent. Good sized tent very disappointed in the make considering how good a make Khyam is supposed to be.

This is our first tent, and what a tent. Plenty of space for 2 adults and 2 dogs, easy to pitch, very waterproof, great headroom, we also have the canopy which attaches very easily, highly recommend the footprint ground sheet and carpet which goes with it. Have stayed in a rival Icarus Vango but the faro is far better and easier to erect.Would recommend to everyone .
