What an amazing Tent,it is a 6 man tent but you really could fit more in if you needed to. The living area is huge and ideal for a family. It rained over one night we used it and it didn't leak at all. We used the canopy to cook under which was ideal. We haven't got the footprint or carpet and although we didn't have these the tent was fine. I think we will probably buy them though as the floor did get a little dirty and I had to clean it before packing tent away. I believe the carpet can be washed so that would be easier .

Well after waiting ages for go outdoors to reduce a Corado 6 to around the £200 mark in glad I got impatient and bought this. Have recently used it on a very windy weekend in west Wales off the coast and it didn't fail us in wind or rain. There where two slight niggles but I think they where down to us pitching it in the wind and rushing, which isn't much fun until the steel inner poles go in, as it got very out of shape. The front door wouldnt fully zip up and the back right hand side of the tent seems to sag, otherwise pound for pound its a very good tent, once erected correctly (had to move my guy lines out a bit further when the wind picked up and also changed direction).
Very happy with this tent even compared it to a few Montanas and Corados on the same site it stood just as sturdy as them in the wind

Recently bought for £229.99 and still cant believe the amount of space there is in the living area and that it only took 30mins to erect. The footprint/groundsheet bought with it covers the porch area which is a added bonus. I would still recommend this tent for large families.

We have had this tent for a full season and have used it for weekends and longer breaks. All in all it is a fantastic family tent.
The living space in the tent is amazing, and it has lots of windows which is great if the weather is not so good. We have previously comfortably accommodated 10 adults all on chairs and 7 children in the bedroom pods on a rainy evening and there was still plenty of room to move around.
We have found that the tent holds up to the weather well. The worst weather that we have encountered whilst using the tent was a particularly windy bank holiday in August. It was extremely windy and other tents had had snapped poles. Ours stood firm in the wind and although was a little noisy inside, it was hardly moving on the outside. We did use Deltas though so maybe that is why. We have had no leaks and have suffered some torrential rain.
The bedroom arrangement particularly suits us. Our two children go into the separate 2 man pod, and we remove the curtain for the 4 man pod and have the bed the other way round, giving lots of space to walk round the side of the bed and some storage space as well.
The carpet is lovely and warm but it does pull easily.
The tent is relatively easy to put up and pack away, just five fibreglass poles and two steel poles that go the length of the tent inside. The bags are a generous size and we always manage to get it back in the bag. We even manage to store the carpet and footprint in the pole bag.
All in all a lovely tent.

Just returned from a weekend camping in this tent. Typically for the UK in early May we had a mix of all weathers, sun, heavy rain and some strong blustery winds. The tent survived all of these very well. The tent is huge with plenty of space to live in whilst the weather is inclement. The tent went up very easily and once the internal poles are fitted is very rigid. We purchased the footprint and carpet which are worth every penny. All in all a great family tent and we can't wait to use it again.

We have sadly just had to bin our Khyam. This was actually the previous 'Montreal' model called the Colorado (the only difference as far as I can tell is the sealed floor).
We camped for three seasons in this tent.
Overall we enjoyed our time in the Khyam having previously camped in a smaller Khyam Vis-a-vis which was fantastic with the quick erect system.
The positives with this model are that it for a large family tent it is fantastic value and (overall (see later comments)) very waterproof. We are currently looking for a new tent (!) and the Khyam waterproofing is hard to beat at the cost. The tent was good for being able to have friends round whilst camping and we had great evenings with up to ten people in the 'communal' area whilst our kids slept (they are good sleepers!) in the bedrooms.
The negative side. Basically do not plan on using this tent in windy conditions or exposed campsites where the wind speed could be anything over 30mph. I will explain.
In the first year we were camping and had a lovely british summer day where it rained all day (tent with-held fine) but side-on winds pulled out guide pegs (soft ground) - the tent went nearly flat in wind (fair-play - nothing broke). Thank God we borrowed some larger guide pegs (a necessity) and re-pegged which held the tent up (estimate @ 25mph winds).
This week we went camping in Pembrokeshire in an exposed campsite. Typically in August(!) unfortunately we hit three nights of strong winds. We had pitched the tent in wind (no proplems (taking care)) end-on to the westerly prevailing winds (with all the guide-ropes pegged out with larger pegs) and the tent survived 2 days of this ok when smaller tents were dying all around.
On the third night of this weather the wind changed to a southerly and gusted over 50mph. Despite all our best efforts the tent was destroyed - it is simply not designed for this British August weather.
Over the three years the tent developed one or two small seam leaks (probably from wind pressures) which we could rectify with sealant spray. The end of one fibre-glass pole did split prior to our last trip but held fine temporarily with some duck-tape.
If you do buy a tent just ensure that you can guarantee no gales or on a very sheltered spot - otherwise I would still recommend for a family looking for a big tent on a deal - just buy extra big guide-rope pegs!

Bought this tent in June this year after looking at several others. It is simply massive! However we have never had to pay for a double pitch yet. It has everything you could need if space is a must. We got the footprint and the carpet, which I would recommend. We recently went to Lincoln and had to put it up in the wind. This was a bit tricky because of the size and the poles seemed to buckle a bit until it was fully pegged out. When it was all pegged however, it stood up fine and we had some really windy nights. Only has 5 poles, all of same length, so really easy to put up.
All in all we are very pleased with our purchase.

Initially seems like a fantastic tent, huge living and sleeping area, easy to pitch. However as soon as the wind gets up the tent struggles to stay up. Even if you pitch the tent with the sleeping end towards the prevailing wind (as stated in the pitching instructions) the tent still takes one hell of a noisy hammering, and of course the wind can change direction. The side of our tent has been almost flat with an average breeze.

Just purchased this tent in July 09. RRP is £390, but discounts are out there, around 10 to 15%. It took about an hour to put up, first go, without prior practise. Good headroom to walkabout. There are 2 bags for the tent. It has a sewn in groundsheet but has a really good feature of 2 x drawstring closures to allow the electric to enter through the floor and ensure the bugs don't get through. The footprint also has matching holes for the EHU. The first night we had torrential rain and strong winds. The tent performed well if a bit noisy, must remember to close the rear window to reduce wind lift. You will need some basic floor cover for the canopy area if it gets really boggy/wet, but works well as a cooking area. We purchased the Carpet which plucks easily, but makes the camping experience in the cold or damp more comfortable. Overall, really pleased and a great family tent.

We have purchased the new khyam Montreal with the porch on the front. It is a great tent. Ample space at 7mx4m
It is OK to pitch to but it was not very windy when we pitched it. It was lovely to sit in the porch bit at night and just watch the world go by and the kids playing cricket.Very user friendly and felt very sturdy. It has 2 steel poles that run the length of the tent. HH is 5000 so should not leak.Easily packed away. I would definitely recommend this tent to anyone who likes space.
