We've bought a second hand tent which had only been used once. As there's only 2 of us at the moment using the tent (hoping to take my partner's kids in the next few weeks), it's been a bit of a nightmare setting up as the instructions were of no use at all. We've devised a system to set the tent up for the next we go camping so hopefully should be a bit easier. We have only put up the tent twice so far and it was windy both times. Hasn't put us off so we will persevere,

I've had the Arapaho 6DL for around six years now and it has served me very well.I found it pretty easy to put up with two and is a good stable tent, having experienced some very strong winds which actually cracked the porch poles. It is like a mini tardis as is surprisingly roomy inside, what with the area between the sleeping inners and the large porch area.Mud flaps would be an asset as the breeze does tend to slip under the bottom of the tent, but that is typical of most dome type tents. My only real moan is the porch door as it tends to bow inwards in the wind and carry any rain in with it, the bucket g/s doesn't seem to cover that area very well. Having said that it's a good, robust tent that would happily accommodate a small family group.

Our kids like the tent, it's roomy but as soon as all the kit for 5 people arrives it really fills up, so I think I'd say 6 people would be a real squeeze.
The tent has stood up well in foul weather. Although the tent is easy to erect I would say that the manufacturers suggested timings are a bit optimistic. The stout canvas carry case which holds the tent and all the other bits and pieces is excellent and makes erecting and packing up much easier.
My quibble with it is the design of the porch and relative lack of windows in the living space.
All in all the tent has been an excellent buy.

We bought this tent 5 years ago at the camping show Glasgow to replace 4-man dome tent.Been through storms where gale force winds and heavy rain only left puddle under tent.More than enough space for 2 adults 2 teenagers and 2 dogs. Only slight complaint with ours is porch door poles not very strong could be better easier to just roll up. Great tent would recommend to anyone.

This is our 4th year of using this tent for both family and 'lads' motor racing trips to France and we can't really fault it.
We have experienced some severe weather in the open field campsite in France and its withstood all that the elements can throw at it.
Ours is the non-porch version but as we always take a marquee to socialise in we don't really want for one.
It has suffered from a couple of split pole sections but considering the use it gets and the ease of repair that's acceptable.
The only criticism, and a small one, is that it doesn't have an air vent at high level in the main area so it can get stuffy in the early morning sun.
We paid £89 which made it the cheapest 2 pod 6 man at the time but it has exceeded all reasonable expectations.

I've had one of these tents now for about 4 years and it has done me proud.
It is a great design which is pretty easy to put up (colour-coded poles) although you probably do need 2 people. It has two bedrooms, a large inner area and the front porch part. As a few others have said the inner ground sheet is a bit of a funny design - and I have never yet managed to put the tent up in such a way that the sheet is flat!
We generally camp for 2 weeks at a time - and each time we get at least one good battering of rain - only last year after it raining virtually everyday did the seams start to leak - so this year I used some Fabsil seam repairer and they as good as new.
Tent tends to 'sweat' on the inside when it rains so it appears as if it is leaking when it isn't. A few of the poles have started to split - but again for the age and usage of the tent I think that's great. I paid about £90 for it and can't complain!

We were looking to purchase our first tent and after looking around at lots of different (some rather expensive options) I found this 6 birth version as an ex-display model on eBay. I paid £70 for it which, after using it for the first time, I realised was an absolute bargain!
The tent is huge and very easy to put up. The height is also a distinct advantage as my partner (being 6') can walk around in it quite easily making it comfortable and versatile for bad weather.
The space in each bedroom is fab as they are designed for 3 people, meaning 2 people and all their things can fit more than comfortably in each bedroom.
The only reason I have given it a 9 rather than a 10 is because I have the version without a porch so there isn't anywhere to leave shoes etc. I have since purchased a universal porch (for just a little under what I paid for the tent itself) so that we don't tread mud/grass etc into the main tent. Still, both items combined make very good value for money as the tent alone retails at £180.
I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking to buy a spacious, easy to assemble tent.

A good sized tent, ok to put it up, but not if you're in a hurry.
Internal groundsheet is poorly thought out. It clips up in parts, but then is designed to go under the bedrooms. This means that when it rains (as it did for 5 days solid when we camped in the Lake District) you may end up with a small stream running through the tent.
The door is also poorly designed. Again, the flysheet does not clip up, so when it rains, the door flips in, bringing the rain with it.

This tent is fantastic value for money. I've had mine for 4 years and have camped all over Europe in it, in all extremes of weather, which it has withstood brilliantly. It's very simple to erect and very spacious for a fairly tall family of four (any more might be a bit snug!). I would recommend this tent for any first time campers.

We have had this tent 4 years and we love it.
It is really easy to put up and down and an excellent size for the money. We have found it to be a great size for a family of 4 with the 3 man pods giving ample room for 2 people and all their stuff!
It has stood up to some extreme rain and wind conditions over the years without problem. The one slight draw back is in very wet conditions you can't open the door without the water from it dripping into the tent. However nothing a roll of kitchen roll kept by the door can't solve!
We have found this to be an excellent tent for the money we paid.

Manufacturer's Description
A 6 berth tunnel-dome with large porch area plus canopy door. Ideal for family camping in the lowlands or at a conventional campsite. This tent features two conventional bedroom compartments each sleeping 3 people (ideal if bringing babysitter) with a living space in between. The large front porch adds even more living space but the tent still comes in at a very affordable price considering its size. Other features include a draught excluder around the outside of the porch, a riser groundsheet for the living area, two side windows in the living space, single entrance door and colour coded poles and sleeves.
The external poles means this tent is pitched flysheet first which will allow you to keep the inners dry while you pitch in damp conditions. The flysheet itself is Protex durable polyester with taped seams giving a hydrostatic head performance of 2000mm - ample waterproofness for 2 season activity. The inner tent is breathable polyester and the groundsheets are polyethylene. The pole construction is fibreglass (with steel uprights for king poles). Comes complete with carry bag and repair kit.
