I owned an original single sized outhouse for many years and finally parted with it last year. I bought the updated XL Outhouse early in 2018, as I needed a kitchen tent for a group camping trip. The one I got is the updated version, so it is 2mx2m square, dark grey fabric with bright green touches and has an organiser pocket inside. It gives brilliant space for a small pack size and the only fiddly thing is that the poles are all joined into two long diagonals so threading through the sleeves is a job best conducted with two pairs of hands, I think I would struggle to do it solo.

The space is very useable and swallowed up the kitchen set up and accessories. It seemed reasonably sturdy but I would always take it down if high winds were forecast because a square shaped fibreglass poled structure is never the best thing to leave to the mercies of the British Weather. As ever, the pegs that came with it were weedy little wires and I used my own existing set of much stronger ones. So overall its great value for money and will serve me well if treated properly.

I was very impressed with this utility tent over this weekend's stormy weather. I was expecting to poke my head out of the main tent in the morning, having lain awake listening to the wind all night, to see it half way across the field, but it had not budged. It does feel a bit flimsy but this does not seem to be the case. Well worth the cost for the extra space it gives, for a tiny pack size and a 5-10 minute set-up time.

After much internet research I decided to purchase the outdoor revolution outhouse handi xl utility tent as I wanted that extra bit of room for my kitchen set up plus table and 2 chairs. I ordered via the internet from Peak outdoors on a Monday morning and received it the next day! Didn't have nxt day delivery either so was well chuffed. I was not disappointed, the outhouse handi was easy to put up, plenty roomy. A great product from outdoor revolution and a quick swift pleasurable buying experience from peak outdoors.

Ideal accessory to complement our small Swift Mondial camper (circa 1997). We use it as a 'pup' tent. It is cheap and easy to erect. I agree with the comments re stability in high winds and last year we suffered 'tent pole splitting' following severe gales whilst camping in Brixham. However the poles were easily replaced and after 3 years the tent is as good as new. Viewing is available (no charge) when we enjoy our annual camp at the brilliant 'Holland's Wood (Camping in the Forest)Site in the New Forest. CU There!

Bought one of these to cook in. Its light and easy to put up and the right size to use as a kitchen. However after about 3 weeks use (over 2 years time) the poles split down the middle, I fixed it easily with Duc tape, but I think its poor to have broken so early. Prior to the poles breaking I would have recommended it, but not now. We bought an extension for our tent(Monty6) and use this for cooking now and its MUCH better than a separate tent. However not all tents have this option, and I think getting an external tent for cooking is a good idea in this case. I wasn't impressed with the outhouses ability to stand up to high winds either, camping near the coast we often had out kitchen stuff blown over and a couple more guys ropes are really needed to stabilise it. Having said all that it is pretty cheap so I suppose we could have just replaced the poles or bought a new one, but I'm happy we went for the extension as a replacement.

Can only echo other's views here. We purchased online for next to nothing really and because its cheap your expectations are not great. But this is a great shed! It's actually very well designed and constructed. Like others here we wanted to use it as a kitchen tent and it really is perfect for this (and storing all the gear). We wouldn't be without it now. Every camper should have one!

Fantastic piece of kit! All your cooking kit in one place. There is a good sized ventilated window in the back of the outhouse, perfect when cooking. The front door can be opened up using canopy poles (not included). Plenty of space for all your kitchen gear leaving your tent uncluttered. Great for bad weather cooking - sheltered and convenient. Very small pack size and simplicity itself to pitch. Go get one - you won't regret it!

Just used this as wanted the space in our bell tent simply for hanging out. It is a great buy, got it for Ł45 a few months ago but only pitched it once to try it. It comes in a light bag, and fold up really small. It is simple to pitch, although I stuck some tape on the longer pole (it goes over the top of the other one) so we don't waste time when pitching. It is a great size, held the kitchen stand plus cool box, two storage boxes and other bits, plus we could put two chairs there whilst boiling a kettle! Feels so much safer and tidier. We have put two extra guy ropes on the back but it was pretty sturdy even in high winds. We used the separate groundsheet and found this more comfortable.

Bought one when decided wouldn't cook in tent and didn't want to get wet. After lots of research on this site, went for the XL. When folded, it is small light and very easy to transport. It is very easy to erect, my 13 yr old can do it on his own!There is plenty of space to hold all my kitchen kit and is great for preparing/storing food. No rain leakage even in heavy rain and very sturdy once pegged down. Excellent value for money, but agree about canopy poles but you can't have everything

I decided to buy this utility tent to keep all the kitchen stuff out of the main tent and away from the children. It's a great size - my initial choice was the outhouse double, but I'm glad I paid a little bit more to get this one. We wanted plenty of room for two adults plus full kitchen set-up! The groundsheet is a nice extra, plus you get a spare pole section and a little bag of repair bits - spare bungee, pole clip etc.

Everything is well put together, and the whole thing is simplicity itself to put up - I'm a complete novice and it only took 20 mins to pitch, including the time to roll up the door and window flaps! It has good headroom, even if you hang a light from the built in loop. It has two storage pockets, one either side of the door. It's just a shame that you don't get the canopy poles as part of the outfit - that would make it an 11 out of 10!

One thing made me laugh when it went up for it's trial in the garden: my son (aged 3) said 'Is this where I'm going to sleep?'
