Great tent, My wife and I, yes just two of us love space and you get it in spades with the Florida 6. Once you have mastered putting it up the layout is perfect, plenty of space for all our stuff, we have lots of it.

Great tent and would recommend it to anyone. Have used it in Cornwall - Gales, Devon - Hot and Sunny, and Whitby three times torrential rain and tail end of hurricane. It stood up to it all. Our only repair was needed when an Outwell windbreak blew onto the tend and ripped it (mended it with tenacious tape) superb stuff.

Out of all the tents I own this is my favourite so far. The privacy of the rooms is set out superbly. The living space increased by the modern way of situating the rooms is absolutely fantastic and a well thought out idea. Being able to buy so many separate features such as the canopy and carpet makes it more universally suitable for the family camping trips for those that prefer there home comforts. My family trips are now enjoyable rather than the wife and kids complaining that the ground is uncomfortable to lay on or there is water leaking in the centre of the roof or seeping in on the unattached ground sheet (Lichfield family tent camping experience). The built/sewn in groundsheet is another fantastic idea not having to worry will your cases be soaked the next morning. The only problem I have is it is a mess about trying to get replacement items for the tent itself such as individual poles or just one replacement room. Over all for comfort, being so weatherproof, strong handling I would definitely give my Florida 6 8/10

This tent is the best We have owned. Having previously used an Outwell Winfield plus, the contrast is marked!

Having a large living area, a porch in which to cook and sit out in, even in the rain, and more than adequate sleeping space is a revelation.

Having had a serious outbreak of tent envy on our last camping trip, we decided to upgrade. We spent 6 months researching and viewing tents of all different makes/styles and sizes, and we settled on the open plan design and quality of the Outwell Florida 6.

The feeling of internal space and rigidity/security is such a plus feature of this tent, especially as our first trip out was a wet, rainy affair. The panoramic windows also add to the feeling of space and light, which was sadly lacking from a dark overcast sky. The storage space with hanging rail is a really useful feature, and kept the main tent clutter free. This does limit the use of the rear door however, but with a bit more planning and organisation this could easily be overcome.

We did a trial erection of the tent before our first trip and it took about 50 minutes to complete. However the process took about 1.5 hours the second time, this being due to me having just finished a night shift and a longish drive. I am sure brain seizure due to lack of sleep was responsible, so I wouldn't mark the tent down for this reason.

Echoing previous reviews, the tent and poles are heavy. I takes at least 2 people to erect (yes I viewed the Yeomans bloke on you tube putting up an ohio XL in 10 minutes on his own, but couldn't emulate!) I followed advice and split the poles into 2 bags which helped my back immensely

Finally, the dimensions of the tent, whilst being a big tent, remain within limits for most standard pitches. This negates the worry of having to pay double fees, or not being allowed to pitch at all on some sites.

We love this tent and can't wait to use it again.

We bought the Florida 6 this year, and have used it a couple of times already. It's fairly straightforward to pitch, but definitely needs 2 or more people. It's also very tall, so those of you who are short, like me, will need stilts to reach some of the guys or to zip up the back door! The poles are very simple to put together, and it doesn't take too long to erect. Can take a little while to get all the guys properly pegged out though.

It's very spacious, and the large windows make it a pleasure to be in, even on the wettest day - it doesn't feel claustrophobic at all. The porch is also a huge bonus in wet weather - you can leave your boots outside the door, and even leave the door to the tent open.

The Florida 6 coped pretty well in the rain. On one occasion the downpour was so heavy that there was a very fine mist coming through, but on the whole it kept the weather out. The sewn in groundsheet also keeps it quite warm - no cold ankles. We also bought the groundsheet and carpet, which helped to keep it warm and comfortable underfoot, even in bare feet.

Outwell have obviously thought a lot about the design - lots of storage pockets, a zip hole and velcro straps for the electrical hookup, and even velcro straps for light cables. The little windows in the bedding areas are also a nice touch - you can see the rain as well as hear it before getting up in the morning! Our kids loved it.

The tent can be a bit of a challenge to repack into the bag, especially as the sewn-in groundsheet keeps a lot of the air inside. The poles make useful weights to help remove the air. Not one to pack up in a hurry.

Definitely a tent to consider if you're looking for something a bit more spacious.

Fantastic tent.

Bought this year to upgrade to a tent with sown in ground sheet and carpet. Its a monster of a tent with loads of light and space. It’s worth watching the outwell video before trying to pitch (guess who didn’t!), but it’s actually really straight forward and only needs a second pair of hands to lift the poles and open the tent out.

Used it in a howler of a storm and stayed completely dry. Recommend it completely.

I have just used my friends Outwell Florida 6, tent for the first time this weekend, and for you people have been out camping the weather was not the greatest.

The tent was awesome it stood up to what was thrown at wind rain rain and did I say rain.

Putting it up was ok as the conditions was not the easiest, but once up it was fantastic.

I would highly recommend this tent.

Just had our first trip out in the Florida 6 and love it.

It is heavy and bulky when packed - I certainly could not lift the bag on my own out of the trailer let alone put it up by myself.

We tried erecting it as per the outwell video but it was too heavy. In future we will use the one section at a time lift method (similar to the way that many people erect the Montana 6). Taking the tent down was very easy and we got it zipped up in the bag on the first go even when leaving the inner bedroom tents attached inside.

Once it's up it is a superb tent. The full head height and numerous windows make it very light inside. It feel much larger than it's 5m X 6.4m footprint. However the size of footprint means that we will be able to fit onto most normal sized pitches.

The awning is great for storing the stove, camp kitchen and bits that you don't mind getting wet if it rains. We had so much space inside that we were able to designate a childrens toy corner that they could play in.

Minor niggles are that the pole bag is made of cheap, thin material and has a tear already. At 5ft11 and 5ft9 my husband and I struggled to roll up the back door and reach the guy rope on the awning - if you are any shorter you will need a step to stand on.

Have just ordered the front extension and with that I feel that 2 adults and 2 kids could comfortably holiday in the tent for a couple of weeks even if we get a summer like the past 2 years.

Having only recently got back into camping our trips last year in a Vango Orchy 600 had us hooked again. We also decided that we wanted a larger tent for longer stays - The Florida 6 certainly is 'large' but fits our needs as we wanted space and a strong tent. We love the height (I'm over 6 ft) and the light grey roof fabric keeps the inside of the tent light and airy.

We have used the tent 3 times this year the last stop in North Wales being the best test yet as we had all 4 seasons in one stay! It was always our view that the tent would come into its own when the weather was poor and this proved the case. A night of heavy rain and a strengthening wind was no problem. The canopy came into its own the following morning as it was still raining!

Pitching - I echo some of the previous comments you do need to be fairly strong as the initial 'lift' and subsequent pin inserting is difficult - but has got easier with each trip.

I also agree that the pole bag is heavy to carry and would be better if 2 bags.

A great family tent which we hope will last for many future camping holidays.

We have just returned from our first camping trip in our new Florida 6. We had a couple of practice pitches before we went but still found the Florida 6 very very difficult to pitch in a moderate wind. Luckily the people in the next tent came to assist otherwise we would never have got it up. It's just too heavy for my wife to lift her side - maybe I need a stronger wife ! In the end we adapted how we pitched it juts pitching a section at a time. Great tent when it was up and kids loved the kids tent. Folding it away was a breeze and we got it in the bag at the second attempt - not bad for beginners ! Would recommend it to anyone but ideally you need two strong people or more to weaklings to erect it and it does take quite a bit of space up in the car.

This tent is far better than any other I've owned.

Went camping to Wales, weather was very windy and never stopped raining, apart from one broken steel pole (which I think was faulty ) couldn't fault the tent. Luckily we never got the extension on due to weather, so had to use roof pole off that.

Apart from that the tent is very roomy, with lots of windows . Did try to use hanging rail inside but everything just kept falling off due to winds. Also it is not good for hanging heavy things on so will be taking wardrobe next time.
