Fantastic tent, loads of space no leaks so easy to put up, in the wind it didn't move an inch, we erected it the first time in rain and had it up easily within less than 30 minutes, guy ropes all complete within the hour, so easy to do, looks amazing when up, had the time of our lives in it, would recommend to anyone.Truly superb

I have to agree. This is a fantastic tent. My second Indiana. The first went with the 'X'. So glad I persisted and bought another one. Strong, spacious and reliable. Very heavy, but easy peasy to put up. I've managed to set up on my own every time. Saw a video on Youtube on pitching a Montana 6 and used that method instead of the recommended way.
I was considering buying the lighter Outwell Tennessee 6, but the reviews have been mixed. So I may have to reconsider.

Where do I start, 'This is the best tent I have ever owned'
As a family tent its great, the six berth sleeping area is ideal for the 3 of us with our large raised airbeds, as the side walls only have a slight slope unlike others with a large rake your head rubs on while in bed.
The front bedroom which is easily removable, is ideal for a friend or 2 to stop in if needed.
The overall Outwell quality is excellent, plenty of windows, front door with canopy, and side door with extra poles to prop up the door as another canopy.
Poles are strong & easily fed through the webbing, erection gets easier every time.
The weatherproofness is its main strength, I have had several trips with very wet & windy weather, but it has not let me down.
Yes it is heavy, but for what you get it needs to be.

Feel I have to add a review even though the Indiana range is now discontinued. I'm so proud of my huge tardis of a tent that has never let me down after numerous camping trips all over the country. I bought the Indiana 8 when in Derbyshire while using another brand/model of tent, a super size dome tent. This tent let us down badly the first night of our stay in Hope Valley, the dome simply couldnt withstand the windy conditions and I can say it was the worst camping night of my life! Just down the road was a huge camping show, we visited and came away with my sturdy Indiana 8! The dome tent got sold asap when we got home and from then on the I8 has been our holiday home! It has never leaked, torn, moved an inch in windy conditions and has always drawn plenty of attention and tent envy on every site we've been to! If you can find one of these for sale second hand and want a FANTASTIC reliable top class tent - buy it! I am now going to buy a second hand I4 tent as the kids are now grown up and often don't come on weekends away so we need a little less space. I'm still keeping the I8 but don't want to compromise on quality, hence purchasing the second hand I4.

Bought used so may be 2nd, 3rd or even 4th hand but it's so rugged this doesn't matter.
Very large tunnel tent at 4m wide by 7m long. Since there's only 4 of us we didn't need to attach the two birth side room. This gave us a very large living area.
We've used it twice and the wife and I both struggle slightly to put it up but we reckon we'll get the hang of it on our next attempt.
Used it during wind and rain with no trouble at all.

This is a fabulous tent. Having used it in severe weather over several years it's as good as the day we bought it!
Massive interior which is great for our 4 kids. Just extremely well made, you will not be disappointed.
Optional 2-bed room at the front is a great idea - we sometimes leave it out, sometimes use if for storage and sometimes for sleeping depending on who's with us at the time!

We bought this last year 2nd hand from ebay, what a fab buy, really large tent ( family of 5) huge bedroom at the back of the tent (we have the divider open) and massive amount of space inside the main living area ( our small children run around easily on wet days!) Plenty of room for table/chair combo's and camping chairs, wardrobe and kitchen, even the double buggy as well at times!
The canopy area was great for shade but we have just purchased a front extension as outwell have just launched their fantasy range in blue so now we have something that will match! We bought the imagine front extension as it was roughly the same width and it fit's ok (bit of adapting by my husband but nothing complicated, just adjusting the front guy ropes) now we have an extra room, nearly, loads of shelter from the wind. Now our tent is perfect! I look round at other tents and do not have any tent envy any more! I love my tent!

What a superb tent. Bought this out of the uk campsite free ads. We have used it on both short and long breaks. It takes me and the wife about 35-40 mins (depending on how many arguments) to put it up. It has stood up to all the elements the uk weather has thrown at it inc last September when we camped in the peak district when it stood up to one hell of a storm without any leaks or damage.
I cant rate this tent high enough 3 bedrooms, huge living area and built in storage. We have now bought the side porch to add to the front supplied one that we cook under and also an Outwell carpet (Sunvalley 8) to make it more snug for the wife and kids. So if you want a good 2nd hand tent get one of these.

We purchased this in 2007 from a friend who'd only used it twice. It's a fabulous tent - very roomy and unbelievably sturdy in high winds.
The bedrooms at the back are spacious yet still leave a huge living area for when the children are in bed and we want to sit up and chill for a while.
The canopy at the front is ideal when it rains as it stops the rain coming in at the front, while letting muddy boots stay outside under cover.
We purchased an Outwell canopy for the side, giving us more shelter.
This is a brilliant tent!

First saw my brother-in-law's last year and fell in love with it. Brought a second hand one recently from a well known auction site in absolutely immaculate condition and used it twice so far this year.Love it love it love it !
The living space is fab for relaxing at night with a glass (or 2) of wine and a pack of cards and also if weather is rubbish, as is the front extension, which I use for cooking and washing-up.
Would recommend it to anyone looking for a big family size tent or even, like us if you just want bit extra space.

Manufacturer's Description
The manufacturer has advised that this model has been discontinued.
Manufacturer's product description Last year, the Outwell Indiana was labelled as the natural successor to the fantastically successful Colorado range. This tunnel tent is designed for spacious but practical family camping and with each tent having the new universal inners, gives a variety of sleeping options. The Indiana range features the Outwell Power Stability steel pole structure and the Outtex 5000 polyester flysheet. Unlike the Montana's, the Indiana range feature fully detachable bathtub groundsheets that act as a barrier to most of what the British weather can throw at them. All tents in the range feature a front and side door with mesh screenhouse doors for hot evenings, large View-Vent panoramic window panels, extensive ventilation 'envelopes' and a zip-off front canopy.
